Chapter 48: 2-1: Introductions and Whatever

Hey! Okay. How do I start this? I really don’t care to go back to the past and for some reason if feel like that would be redundant. 

Oh, right! I’m Hayli. Hayli Reiland von Orache Summer. I’m a humon, a water dragon in fact. Technically I’m a fourth demon as well, but I don’t have horns so I never mention that. Plus the fact my father is… well, the last Demon to become a Lord. 

Speaking of him, he’s currently the reason why I’m writing this. Something about the pen allowing him see what I write so he doesn’t worry about me. Also something about someone else doing something similar. He’s weird like that, you know?

Okay so next is… ah, shit. I forgot. I was a Hero, now I’m a Demon Lord Candidate. There was some events that lead up to that involving this Shield named Earth- I think that was their name, but for the life of me I can’t remember what happened to them. Which is an issue because- no, Hayli stay focused. Okay, I’m also trans. That’s the other important thing. 

Next I should introduce my friends, well friends is a bit much for one of them but still, one by one.

First up is the most questionable one, the Princess of the Demon Kingdom herself, Quaza. She’s annoying. I managed to find myself in bloodpact with her and for some godless reason she loves to make me sleep in the same bed as her. But she is smart, pretty, strong and has a good head on those slender shoulders of hers.

Next is Nox. I guess it would be Nox Thornell, yes like the hero- he’s her brother. She’s a human who was the older sibling of Quaza’s childhood best friend. Through some circumstances she ended up as her loyal knight. She’s also wanted by the Heroes, more than the usual candidate. Right, she’s also a Candidate. Which would be odd, seeing that she’s a human- but there’s multiple demons on the Hero side for some reason now.

Last but not least is Caela. She’s nice. And also trans, like me. And that’s all the reason I need to like her. Don’t judge me.

Okay everyone is here. Perhaps a bit on the Heroes? If I can remember them at all..

There’s Layla, a holy knight or paladin type. Beautiful but I’m pretty sure she’s homophobic. Just gives me those vibes. Olli and Ilyah are the demon Heroes if I recall properly. Olli was another childhood friend of Vern and Nox. Ilyah is my terrifyingly identical cousin- and half Demon. There’s Amber and her poor Shield Zeke. Speaking of Shields, mine was Sairah, a bear humon. She’s strong. Okay next would be… um Layla, Amber, Ilyah, Olli, oh those other humons. I think the Hero was Morganna? Or something like that. And lastly was the Twink. I mean Vern. None of them should be important if we figure how to stop them from reviving the Twins. Whatever that means.

This feels bare still.

Oh! Right. I forgot. The special targets. Well they want to capture Avery. Sorry that’s Nox’s old name. I almost want to call it her deadname but that feels gauche. Probably because of her Mirror Magic- which her twin Vern also has. Of course they want to kill Quaza- Princess of the Demons and top Candidate is quite a resume. And kill me- probably because of my pedigree. And then. Earth. 

Just a single name. And again, they were with me when I made it over to the Demon Kingdom, but then what? Actually, humans did weird things around me. Like the one that took me to my father to free me of this one tall priestess’s mind control thing? You don’t have to worry about that, it’s over. Or will be when I get to the proper section. Chapter? Whatever.

This should be enough. Wait, who am I even writing to besides my father?
