Jack was driving down the highway on his way back from work, he owned a small roofing company. He wasn't listening to any music and was paying attention to a car driving like an idiot to his left, seemingly unable to keep in a straight line. So he almost missed the Super that zoomed overhead, rocking his car and pulling his eyes upwards, just in time to see a purple beam smash through his windshield and hit him.
That was all he knew as his vision went black and he sank into unconsciousness.
(Another Driver's Perspective)
"Reports of 2 Supers causing damage up ahead, speeds may be slowed" Jeff's GPS announced
"Damned Supers" he grumbled irritatedly, already slightly late to his Doctors appointment
He saw a flash of what he thought was lightning a ways up ahead, purple lightning. He squinted his eyes, there were more flashes and it looked as if it was moving his way. Jeff was vaguely able to make out the shape of a flying dot in the sky, and judging by the purble beams it was emitting, it probably wasn't a bird.
It was coming closer and closer, and some of the beams were passing dangerously close beside the highway. Another smaller shape became visible in front of it, ducking and weaving around the beams, all the while the energy wielding super pursued it with a single minded determination completely ignorant of the damage he was causing.
Then a beam hit a truck not 30 feet in front of him, it immediately lost control and slammed into the much smaller car to its left, they were going well above 70, and both started tumbling down the highway, hitting other vehicles in the process. Jeff glanced over to his right and saw it was clear, he swerved hard around the wreckage that was quickly dogpiling on top of eachother.
Jeff managed to make it around safely, and thanked his lucky stars that the beam wasn't a single degrees higher.
(Jack's Perspective)
He opened his eye and blinked blearily, Jack tried looking around but his neck didn't want to listen, he went to sit up, but something held him down. Wait a second, eye? Why couldn't he open his left eye? He started to panic and shuffled around in his bonds, but he was strapped to the bed firmly, leaving him no wiggle room. Jack tried to raise his head again and this time managed to get it up enough to see a lady reading something on a machine. He traced the wires from the machine back to him, whatever was going on there must have alerted her to his awakening since she turned around with a smile unbefitting of the situation on her face.
'What's she in such a good mood for?” Jack thought, irritated that someone could be positive in a time like this.
She apparently saw his expression as she quickly told him the good news.

"Your heartbeat is steady, if slightly alarmingly low, and we are almost positive you are going to survive this." the nurse said in a voice that mirrored exactly how he had expected it to sound.
Jack's frown deepened, they were almost positive that he would survive this? Was he really in that bad of a condition?
"What on earth happ-..... oh, oh I remember. What Villain shoots the purple beams?" Jack asked after a few seconds to mull over what had transpired.
"That would be the Foundation's newest Hero, he doesn't have a name yet but better come up with one soon or somebody else will." she chuckled
"Mr fucking I can't hit my shots would be a good one, he was doing more damage than whatever villian has pissed him off so much" Jack said with his typical eloquency.
The nurse was taken aback by his words. "Wait, he's who attacked you?" She said unsurely.
"Unless the other guy also his purple beams of death, then no, it was a random lightning strike." Jack said rudely, he was starting to get really frustrated with this whole thing.
"You need to calm down sir, your heartbeat is going up rapidly" she cautioned him.
Jack swallowed whatever witty remark he was prepared to spit out, and relaxed back down on the hospital bed with a sigh. "My apologies miss, I don't know why I am feeling so strange right now." Jack said after a few moments.
He was starting to get tired, his whole body felt exceedingly weird. "That would probably be all the drugs that are keeping you alive" the nurse said right before he faded back into unconsciousness.
