Jack came into consciousness rather smoothly this time, no thrashing or freaking out. He didn't open his eye and just listened to what was around him, he immediately picked up a voice just outside the doorway.
"This is much worse than we thought, the energy the new Hero wields has a constant degenerating effect on the body that far outpaces a human's natural regenerative process." a female voice spoke
"Would I be correct to assume you have already contacted Dr Flux on a remedy?" a serious sounding older male replied
"You would, but their price will easily exceed 10 million dollars, and I doubt this random poor soul just happens to have that much." she said fretfully
"He accepts payment in servitude does he not?" the male questioned

The nurse stepped inside and closed the door behind her quietly, before approaching the bed carefully, sometimes the patients reacted less than ideally with all the meds they were on. Come to think of it, can he agree to a legal contract in this state? Eh, probably...
"Mr. Fletcher, some unforeseen side effects have surfaced, and we are not so confident in your survival if you don't take some certain... well Elixirs." the doctor told him carefully, he thought it might have been the lady he saw earlier, but he wasn't in that firm a state of mind to recall such a thing.
"Cool" Jack said before falling sleeping again.
The lady shrugged, and took over the small blanket to make sure it wasn't too much worse. Mr. Fletcher's right eye was gone, along with most of the skin along the left side of his skull, his right forearm had also been disintegrated, there was a dangerous amount of skin missing from his person, but that wasn't as severe as the fact that the massive wound over his ribcage was slowly eating away towards the rest of his body, and he would have been long dead if he was in a regular hospital and not one meant for such things.
