Chapter 2: Waking up

(Zoya's POV)

I woke up but kept my eyes close. I couldn't feel the weight of the TV lying on me. Bird chirped around me. "Is it already morning or why are you idiots so loud again?" I asked myself.  I hate the stupid birds that are sitting on the power line every morning making more noise that my alarm.

I took a deep breath enjoying the smell of the forest... "Wait? Forest!?" My eyes shot open as I realized that the only air freshener scent my mom uses is lemon. I saw grass and trees. "Why am I in a forest?" I asked myself while groaning from the pain I had in my whole body. 

I pushed myself up but it somehow felt like my arms and legs were the same length so I wasn't able to stand up properly. "What's going on?" I thought while the idea of someone kidnapping me and slicing of my legs came to my mind but I quickly shook that though of. 

It was really strange pulling myself through the forest only with my hands but after some time I managed to also use my legs. I felt like a 6 month old baby crawling again.  After I continued it somehow started to feel natural to me. 

The sound of flowing water reached my ears and I headed straight into the direction the sound was coming from. "How far away is that?" I asked myself after 4 minutes of constant walking on all four until I finally reached a lake with a small waterfall on the other side. 

I looked in the lake and a big black head with blue eyes stared directly at me. I closed my eyes shook my head and opened my eyes again only to see the same blue eyes staring at me again. Then I looked down on my hands for the first time finally realizing that they now looked like black paws rather than hands and feet. 

"There is now way that happened to me" But I had to admit that my reflection said otherwise. I looked exactly like Toothless from How to train your dragon except for the fact that I seemed to be a little bit slimmer and my scales looked smoother.

(~Short time skip~)

I sat in the lake still staring at myself. I think my brain slowly managed to comprehend what had happened. I up with two possibilities. First, I had the most real and unreal dream possible. Second, I was now a Night fury and maybe even in the universe of How to train your dragon.

"Are you lost?" A voice said behind me making me jump a few meters to the side. Between the trees stood another dragon. "How is it called.... Something deadly.... Deadly Nadder... Deadly Mocker .... Deadly Nadder... That's it" I watched that film just minutes ago and already forgot that. 

"What are you looking at?" Asked the Deadly Nadder me as she saw me staring in the air turning her head trying to figure out what I was looking at. "Oh... Oh... nothing I replied. "So what are you doing here ?" She asked with a questioned look on her face.

I wasn't sure how to reply so my answer was not really that helpful to her. "Uh.. I.... just don't have a plan what... how to ... just everything you know?" I said hoping she would somehow understand me but my answer only seemed to make her more confused than she already was. 

She stared at me before shaking her head trying to revive our conversation. "Oh by the way my name is Skyshot, what's yours?" I wasn't really sure how to reply but I had nothing in mind so I just told her my real name. "It Zoya"

"Zoya? What a strange name... Anyway what are you doing here? I haven't seen any of your kind I think since 17 years. I though all of you Night furys were dead."

"That's even longer of a story" Out of reflex I tried to put my hand on my head (what I always do If I think) but I could stop myself before I did something that might look a bit stupid now that I am a dragon. 

"Have you also heard about the fight between the two Bewilder beast?" Skyshot asked me swapping the topic again this time to the latest gossip. "Yea... I think I heard that one of them died and the other wan was wounded"

Skyshot looked happy. Finally she had found someone to talk to. "Have you been there?" I asked Skyshot but I only got a NO as an answer. 

"I need to show you something cool. Follow me!" Skyshot said and then immediately took of. "How long will it take for her to notice that I can't fly? Better think of a story now." A few seconds later Skyshot landed besides me.

"Why aren't you coming?" I looked away from her. "Well... It's a long story. Let's just say I forgot how to fly..."

She looked at me like humans would if they'd see a pig with wings but her expression quickly shifted to anger. "How long did that bastards lock you in that cage?" She asked furiously.

I looked at her for a few seconds but I quickly used the opportunity she gave me. "Long enough"

"I'm gonna kill these humans when I see them and if I have to kill every single one of them!" She shot some of her spines against a tree which promptly fell to the ground.
