Xie Lin is a special man. Special because he had transmigrated from Earth.

After he was transmigrated, he had found himself to become a common layman who had been granted some cheat which belonged to the original owner’s body. It was a pendant which could refine anything in the world. Using this cheat, he had ascended to the immortal realm and eventually went on to become one of the 4 Supreme Immortals… Just to learn there was another realm above that. God’s Realm, they called it.

So, he had tried ascending there… only to fail. His foundation was too weak to withstand ‘Heaven’s Trial’ as they called it. Even though it was just crossing the space connecting the two realms. His body and dantian were torn asunder and the same was fated to his soul… but his pendant had saved his life at the cost of being broken.

He had then been chucked into the river of time, landing back to when he had been transmigrated. His pendant- then broken, but still with him. The pendant had become his crutch as much as it was his greatest aid. Without it, he had experienced the average man’s cultivation journey. In his second life, he had decided to focus on strengthening his foundation.

While he cultivated, he also learned as much as he could, researching the myriad Dao to figure out how he could successfully reach the Gods’ Realm. After several millennia, he had indeed ascended. But to the gods, he was but an ant. It was new territory for him. But yet so familiar.

Living life on the edge, he had eventually become stronger… alas, he had fallen. The Celestial Emperor’s third nephew’s great-grandson had learned of his pendant by chance and stole it, recognizing it as the former Supreme Alchemy God’s most prized possession. His alchemy cauldron.

Then came his third life, reincarnation into a baby. He wanted blood. To dare steal his most precious artifact that had been with him for most of his conscious life? Using his knowledge of the Dao and his understanding of the laws of alchemy, he had created a cultivation method, refining it as he cultivated. His power was unmatched and in record speed, for the third time… he ascended.

He hid and kept a low profile… as a teacher at the Celestial Emperor’s Palace *Cough, cough*. Working his way through, he had portrayed himself as a diligent worker and had earned the favor of many of the servants and masters. His student was the Celestial Prince. As he bided his time, his cultivation rose. The prince himself was a prodigy whose insights had allowed him to surpass his former self and become one of the powerhouses in God’s Realm.

And so, he carried out his assassination- his torture. The bastard who had stolen his pendant had suffered. Miserably. Alas, killing royal blood was too high a felony. The entirety of Gods’ Realm was after the murderer, himself. After being on the low for a few millennia, he had eventually been found out and accused of murder. Fortunately for himself, he had already made preparations.

Weakened but still living, he had cast off his body and qi, and as a weak soul he threw himself into the river of time, but who would’ve known his soul immediately found itself in the cycles of reincarnation after exiting the river of time. In his weakened state, he had been reincarnated into a still born baby. He had struggled to breathe life force into the body before his soul could suffer damage and even possibly dissipate.

Now, however, there was a problem. There was now a second soul inhabiting this body. A girl- to be precise. The same gender for this baby.

‘What a headache. *Sigh~* What’ll I do now?’ Looking at the little child using his divine sense, Xie Lin could not bring himself to harm her. Afterall, he was proud to say that he had never stained his hands with innocent blood.

‘But… is this really so bad?’

‘I mean, do I even want to cultivate anymore? Ascending a fourth time is such a hassle. All that power… for what? To prolong my inevitable doom? My body might be immortal, my mind might be eternal, but eventually, I’ll just fade away. Like dust in the sand.’

His spiritual gaze upon the little kid, Xie Lin contemplated.

‘Why not one last hoorah? All my life’s work and knowledge on one person. I’m tired of feeling the world, tired of seeing it through my own eyes. So why not see it through someone else’s own? I’ll just lay back, relax and watch the show.’

Xie Lin’s countenance changed. Compared to his previous taciturn aura, he had become more laid back and approachable, his lips quirked up. Though none could see, as he was but a soul.

‘Very well, this shall be my last life- my fourth and final. With my guidance, you, little girl, are destined to reign at the very top. Supreme, even amongst gods.’
