As he darted through the tall grass, Ari had to avoid the many stones that littered the area. This was, of course, expected. After all, this place was called Rock Valley. So it wasn’t a surprise that there were rocks ranging from small to pillar towers everywhere.
It was sort of surreal as if he was running through a dream. However, even though it looked like one, it wasn’t one. Dreams weren’t this tiring, but games were, and this game was more exhausting than most.
As he traversed through the rocky terrain, Ari could feel weariness seep in, causing his breathing to become rough and his body to slow down. Although he said he would be at the meeting place in 30 seconds, it was taking longer than that, however; it wasn’t his fault. It was his stamina that was to blame.
In times like these, Ari wished he didn’t choose this character setting. Even though he knew the pros outweigh the cons of his choice, it still didn’t stop him from condemning his decision at this moment.
Because none of those pros were available to help him right now from not being eaten by the six blood-thirsty beasts that were on his tail. While Ari was regretting all his life choices, he suddenly noticed that one of the Demon-Eyed wolves was quickly catching up.
The wolf used to be more than six feet from him, like the rest, but now it was only two feet away from gnawing on his voluptuous ass. Although he wanted to speed up, he couldn’t because he was already far too drained.
Breathing heavily, Ari could only watch as one wolf, spurned on by hate and hunger, jumped towards him, claws extended, ready to slice him into fine deli meat. However, before the beast had a chance, it was pushed sideways with great force.
Shocked, Ari turned to see what happened, only to see his cousin floating towards him with her weapons ready.

2 minutes Earlier
After the communication bird dissipated, Nabi readied her weapons and geared up for a fight. Yet that fight never happened, and 30 seconds turned into a minute that turned into two. This worried her greatly.
“Where is that boy?” Nabi wondered out loud after seeing no sight of him. “I hope he didn’t get himself killed.”
However, after looking at the party screen, she knew Ari wasn’t dead. His name wasn’t grey. But besides that, she knew nothing else. Getting concerned, she decided that if he would not come to her, she would go to him.
Putting her weapons away, she unfurled her small silvery-blue wings, before activating her racial skill; Butterfly steps. This skill allowed her to hoover in the sky with the help of tiny butterflies that had become steps. Although the butterflies helped her float, her wings allowed her to navigate.
Once she cast the skill, Nabi swiftly fluttered her wings, navigating the butterfly step upwards into the air, higher than the giant purple rock formation that she was standing in the middle of. She could feel the wind caress her face and back as she stepped higher and higher until she reached the top.
Finally, she had a nice vantage point so she could survey the area. Unbeknownst to her, as she hovered just above the pillar with her long silvery hair and purply blue dress flowing in the wind, she looked like a real fairy princess.
Her eyes, which were a mixture of human and insect, stood out with their unusual periwinkle sclera and silver eyelashes that fanned her face as she squinted from the sunlight. Luckily, she didn’t need her eyes for the search, only her antenna.

Her antenna could sense movement in smell. It was sort of like an infrared but instead of using heat; it used aroma. With her eyes closed, Nabi turned her body slowly until her antennas twitched.
From what she could gather, six large smell imprints were chasing after a smaller one. Knowing without a doubt that was her cousin, she rushed towards the place where the smell was coming from.
While on her way, she unsheathed a pair of sparkly incandescent twin blades, holding them in front of her, the grip on the hilt tight. As she got closer, it was clear that Ari’s stamina was slowly dwindling into dangerous territories.
Once they killed these beasts, she would knock some sense into him. Nabi couldn’t believe her cousin, he never listens to her. She told him he wouldn’t be able to make it to her, but did he listen? No, he didn’t.
And here he was, about to become monster chow. If she knew he would do stupid crap like this, even though it was his turn to pull monsters, she would have gone to do it herself.
Shaking her head, she moved her body faster, wanting to reach him before he drained all his stamina. However, when she was just a couple of feet away from him, she saw one wolf edging closer to him.
Knowing that an attack was about to happen, she got into a fighting stance that would allow her greater mobility, before activating Butterfly Shadow. This skill allows her to appear in the monster’s shadows, allowing her to teleport an enemy at a fast speed.
Smirking, she stared at the wolf, waiting for it to attack. As soon as it was a second away from clawing Ari’s face, she teleported, knocking it away from him. After that using her only AOE (area of effect) skill, she blew all the wolves away, giving Ari a reprieve.
“Kismet, I’ll hold them back. Use an STA potion!” Nabi yelled as she tightened her grip on her swords.
With a smirk from her, and loud growls from the Demon-Eyed wolves, the hunt had officially begun, with them as her prey. Some people would say that it was dangerous for a butterfly to be on the battlefield. However, what they didn’t know was that butterflies did not differ from the wrathful fae.
~
Relief came over Ari once the monsters were off his back. After taking a couple of breaths, Ari tapped his system bracelet and opened his game panel. Looking through his character settings, he saw that his endurance bar was now at 5 percent.
No wonder his body felt sluggish. Sighing, Ari grabbed an STA potion from his inventory and chugged it down. In mere seconds, his body felt refreshed, as if he had just woken up from a satisfying nap.
Feeling better, Ari turned around to see Nabi was holding her own, pushing the monsters back before attacking them with her swords. Rinse and repeat. Since they were all focused on him, she could keep doing it without being attacked once.
But Ari wouldn’t let her have all the fun. Quickly equipping his rubber hammer, he activated Smackeroo, a skill that comes with the hammer, before jumping to attack one of the nearest Demon-Eyed wolves.
