But not now. Claire couldn’t even guess the reason why Erich had come here.
“Can you step aside for a moment?”
Anyway, Claire asked Grey because she thought it would be embarrassing to talk about it.
Then the elevator arrived. The manager opened the outside door and came out and bowed down sixty degrees.
Erich got off the elevator. The flames of anger he had suppressed until then seemed to blaze up as soon as he saw Claire and spread with the steps he took.
“Claire.”
“What’s wrong? Why are you so angry again?”
If she was one to shrunk or be frightened by his anger, Claire would never have fought him.
Erich said in a strong voice.
“Have you no shame? Are you acting like nothing happened after seeing my face?”
“What happened? What kind of nonsense are you talking about after seeing each other’s faces for the first time in five years?”
Claire asked, stunned.
Although Erich was relatively emotional towards her, he was still a model of the Northern Rommel aristocracy.
And the virtues of the Rommel nobility were as such: discipline, moderation, strictness, exactness, and cool-headedness.
To think that he had burning eyes while revealing his anger as it was. They had fought many times, but Claire had never seen him so angry.
“What do you mean, aunt?”
“What?”
Hearing this unexpected thing, Claire asked blankly.
“I thought you were the kind of person who knew how to keep your responsibilities and obligations no matter what, but how could you be so irresponsible to a child!”
Grey, who had been standing half a step behind Claire until then, stepped forward as if to block her.
Erich glared at Grey with furious eyes. He didn’t say it, but his face looked like it was saying, ‘What are you?’
“Excuse me, but I think you’re misunderstanding something.”
“Who are you?”
In the end, the words without much difference came out of Erich’s mouth.
Until then, he didn’t care if Grey was present or not. Whether Grey was a maid or an employee wearing a suit, he was out of his sight.
Erich’s gaze became sharper towards the one who intruded. Since Grey was a young, well-dressed man, his vigilance rose.
Grey answered politely with a businesslike attitude without breaking his expression.
“My name is Grey Sherwood, legal advisor to Baron Delford’s family, Duke Klausener.”
“Legal advisor?”
Erich’s expression softened somewhat. He spoke with a calm attitude, different from the one he had with Claire.
“It is not something for a single legal advisor to intervene. Leave.”
He didn’t show his displeasure explicitly, but it was a cold voice. Gray replied.
“I am not just the family’s legal advisor.”
“Then are you a member of the Delford family?”
If he stays like this, the matter will be more troublesome. Claire finally recovered from the first blow and came to her senses.
“Grey, go.”

“Baron.”
“You don’t have to worry. It’s okay, so you can go.”
Grey wasn’t just legal counsel, he was more of a family, and he was about to be a real one. But still, the matters to be talked about from now on were much too personal.
Grey flinched for a moment, but showed no further emotion, bowed his head in a polite greeting, and withdrew from the living room.
Claire sighed. Her head was pounding.
“I think I know what it is that you’re misunderstanding. But no, that’s not it.”
“It’s not?”
Thanks to Grey’s intervention, Erich, who had been able to keep his mouth shut for a while, let out a very calming voice. However, there was no sign that he accepted Claire’s words as truth.
“I never thought about it before, but I know that the timing was very precise. Still, Elliot is not my child—he’s my nephew.”
“Can you still tell such a lie when all you need to do is take one look at a child’s face?”
“Because Elliot has blonde hair and blue eyes, are you saying that? Wow, I’m really amazed. My sister also has blonde hair and blue eyes.”
“I’m not just talking about the color of his hair and eyes. No matter how you look at it, he’s obviously my child. Do you think you can fool me by lying like that?”
“I told you, he’s not!”
Claire also raised her voice.
“Are you saying that I raised my child as my younger sister’s child just to pretend I wasn’t pregnant?”
“I didn’t say that! I’m asking you to admit that he’s my child!”
“I don’t have a child, really. If he’s really your child, Senior, then wouldn’t you be a piece of garbage, huh?”
Claire snorted.
“Are you telling me that you seduced and touched a young girl back then, who—mind you—hadn’t even graduated from the academy yet at that time? More so my sister? And after that, you slept with me? Is that what you’re saying?”
“What? There’s no way I would do something like that!”
“My younger sister gave birth to Elliott, but you’ve jumped to the conclusion that he’s your son?”
Claire jumped up from her seat. Then she raised her chin and approached Erich.
Erich put his hand in his pocket. His face was red from the insult. Seduced a young girl who hadn’t even graduated from the academy, and the younger sister of the girl who he was going to propose to?
Although he wasn’t a perfectly morally upright person, he wouldn’t dare make such a trashy misunderstanding.
“Why? Do you really want to hit me?”
“You are making a big mistake in this. If Elliot is my child, then he is the heir to Klausener, and he is the fifth in line to the throne.”
“He is my nephew, and he will inherit Barony Delford. Please stop making foolish illusions. Please leave.”
“Claire!”
Claire curtsied, clutching her dress with graceful movements.
A lady’s order to be dismissed was something he could not go against. Erich gritted his teeth.
“You can’t run away like this, Claire. I will not sit idly as my child grows up deprived of his rights and his father.”
“You can go and investigate with the power of that proud House Klausener,” said Claire.
Erich took his right hand out of his pocket and ran it through his hair once. And he calmed down his anger. He couldn’t go out with a face like this.
“I will come back.”
After making up his mind, he turned around. Then he clenched his teeth and stepped into the elevator.
