Chapter 69: The Fall Massacre II
.................
Everything was set in motion, but there was still a little bit more than a month left before the end of the Countdown, and it just happened to coincide with a special event, an Auction.
Jaya Island became nothing but a wasteland. Its every building was broken, all in ruins.
It was once a bustling city where pirates assemble, partied, and got drunk to unconsciousness. It all changed since the Strangers took it over before leaving shortly afterward.
They left it relatively clean, so some pirates came back to the Island... Only to mysteriously disappear. It became a ghost Island no pirate dared to approach.
And it wasn't the Strangers' doing because what followed was whoever was responsible for turning the Island upside down, seemingly looking for something.
Perhaps they were looking for Yovan, but he vanished. He was last seen in Arabasta before vanishing from existence, even the CP9 couldn't find him.
But he knew that he had to appear at some point because while he may be invisible to most people, misfortune never leaves his back, especially as the countdown was slowly coming to an end.
[Countdown: 3]
The ones responsible for the chaos finally showed themselves as dozens of ships surrounded the Island.
It wasn't long before most of the people on the ships arrived at the Island. Some ships were still encircling the Island to make sure no one enters or leaves.
"Something is weird." The one to speak was an older man with bags and age spots under his eyes. He has long black hair, a beard, and curled mustache. He wears a brown coat over a ruffled white shirt, a yellow scarf, and wrinkled pants.
"Dududududu! Are you perhaps scared, sir Umit? You can leave right now. In fact, I'd recommend that." Not far from his was a rotund man with large ears, nose, and lips, and a scar between his eyes.
His hair is arranged in cornrows, alternating between blonde and dark. He was wearing a vivid purple suit with a rose attached to his left breast, as well as a dark purple fur coat.
"No thanks, sir Du Feld. If what we're here for is truly what's rumored, then I wouldn't wanna miss it, would I? Hell, you even made sure the other Emperors of the Underworld don't hear about it." Umit responded as he took a long smoke.
"Duddududud! And so did you, but if it's as rumored, then you should know that only one of us will leave this Island, right?" Du Feld stated with a smug smile.
Umit only shook his head, not paying him any attention as he surveyed the Island, "Only about three hours before the appointment."
These two are Emperors of the Underworld, the whole system of connections, smuggling, and shady dealings which eludes the World Government's control, mainly set in the New World.
What has gotten them to come from New World to Paradise? Well, a rumor about the blueprints of Pluton, a rumor they made sure to bury at all cost so that no one else hears about it.
But in the end, both of them were able to get here months before and search the Island thoroughly despite the Auction appointment being later down the line.
And so, they found nothing of value or any clue at all which made them cautious, so they made sure no trap was set up for them beforehand.
If that wasn't enough, they came here with most of their army as thousands of men could be seen patrolling the Island though most were surrounding them just in case.
Due to the nature of New World, very few people that travel its waters aren't capable, so one can assume that the Emperors of the Underworld's men are fairly strong.
The situation of the Auction is extremely suspicious to the point only the crazy would risk their lives to investigate, let alone two underworld Emperors coming here personally to check.
This was one of the reasons why the news guy, Morgans was needed. He was a vital part of the plan because only he would know who would fall for the trap or would let their greed guide them.
Still, they were on guard, ready to act at a moment's notice. They were ready to use one of their many backup plans in case things go wrong.

And as the Emperors of the Underworld, they naturally have the power to back that up. One can even assume that they themselves are their strongest force which is why they found it necessary to come here.
[Countdown: 1]
They waited and waited, but nothing happened, utter silence. Nothing about the place told them it was a place for Auction let alone auctioning one of the most valuable things in the world.
It took less than twenty minutes before something finally happened, a dark feather slowly but surely stabilized in front of them before twisting into a real human being. Yovan appeared.
The entirety of his body was hidden not just by thick clothes and a mask, but also by a small storm of feathers around him.
The storm formed into a hand that held a relatively wide paper before the Emperors, keeping enough distance so as to make them at ease.
"This is the first paper of the blueprints. I assume you all have ways to verify its authenticity." Yovan stated before simply waiting.
The Emperors of the Underworld both narrowed their eyes, vigilance apparent on their face. They naturally know about the Stranger. They even knew beforehand that he was the one to set all of this up.
It wasn't hard to figure out considering all of his actions that led up to this, especially taking over Jaya.
But that also means that they know about his Devil Fruit. It became very known after all considering what he was capable of doing with it.
'It was supposed to be a Zoan Devil Fruit, no?' Both Emperors wondered with confusion. What he had just achieved was something only Logias or Paramecias are supposed to be able to do.
If they were planning on just taking away the blueprints without paying before, they certainly weren't now, especially since he only showed them one of the papers.
Several of their men approached the paper and started looking through it for more than a dozen minutes before walking back to their bosses.
The blueprints of Pluton were extremely complicated. Yovan only started to get a better understanding of them recently as he read more about some related stuff.
Their men, however, seem to know more, understandable considering they were hand-picked for this exact task.
Almost instantly, the two Emperors' eyes lit up, shining with greed and utter shock... Before them was truly a blueprint of Pluton.
Yovan could even see them literally shaking, unable to believe themselves. They were already starting to lose themselves in dreams of grandeur.
I will be the greatest force to ever exist!! I will take over the world!! I will bask in glory of absolute authority and get as many riches as I desire!!!! And so on.
They were only awakened by Yovan's words, "There are exactly two ways this could go... A battle for death. The last survivor of you two will get the blueprints after paying the price.
The other is preferable. You all pay me. You all get the blueprints. I made several copies. It's up to you. You can of course choose option three..."
His words left them breathless, but also hesitant because they would much rather have it for themselves, but a battle for death... That's a recipe for disaster.
It took them minutes to come to a decision, one that doesn't involve killing Yovan because that seems to be impossible considering how he appeared.
They weren't ready for his awakening because he kept it relatively under wraps, so option three was out of the question. He didn't even need to say it, they clearly understood his implication.
While remaining wary, they personally went back to their ships to get the price of the blueprints.
The word has been spread around the Underworld by Morgans. So, they knew exactly what he was asking for as a price for the Blueprints.
Yovan narrowed his eyes at the large chests of priceless treasures... Three swords, lots of Seastones, one Devil Fruit.
The price of the blueprints wasn't much, or at least Yovan didn't ask for much, but it certainly was nowhere near the price of actually building the Ancient Weapon.
Just as Yovan actually wanted to hand them the blueprints, someone else appeared, standing right next to him... Only about twenty minutes left before the end of the Countdown.
