The sun was shining brightly all over the island. Even though it was quite early, it didn't stop people from going to a pub at such a time to enjoy themselves.

"Hahha, have you guys seen the new bounties on one of the most notorious pirates?" a somewhat drunken fellow said.

"Haha, at the moment, Gol D. Roger is wreaking havoc. Here, take a look." Another guy said as he placed the Roger Pirates' bounties next to each other on the table.

Pride's travels were almost the entirety of South Blue. He would pass through island after island, traveling either with civilian or merchant ships and would stay on each one for a limited period of time.

Partly to train and also to distract himself from his sorrows.

There wasn't a time when he didn't train rigorously, whether it be in his Devil Fruit utilization or his swordsmanship. As a result, his progress in these areas was considerable.

His training during this time consisted primarily of the basic stances to further immerse himself in his swordsmanship. Or he would subject himself to gravitational pressure to accelerate his progress and train more intensely.

Everyone glanced at the entrance as it was suddenly flung open.

"Huh?" most of those attending exclaimed.

The man with his arms on his knees gasped, "The Roger pirates have been sighted not too far away!"

"Impossible? The Roger Pirates! What's a crew from the New World doing here?" Someone pointed out, suddenly rising from his seat and slamming the counter.

"Hurry, hurry, we have to go!" shouted several people at once as they left the pub.

Everyone ran out of the tavern. Only the bartender and Pride remained in the pub. 

'Hmm, to be honest. What's Roger's crew doing here? I mean... He shouldn't even have met Rouge yet. So what's he really up to?'

Kid, why didn't you leave too?" The bartender said.

"Sigh, there's nothing to worry about."

Most likely, they didn't know the true nature of the Roger pirates. Otherwise, they would have known that these pirates don't harm civilians without a reason. However, you can't blame the civilians and the pirates on the spot. Considering that the pirates are worth billions in bounties, fear is bound to take over.

The door to the bar opened and several people entered.

All that echoed around was the Roger Pirates laughing and cheering at some unforeseen event.

Pride looked over. For a moment, he was lost in thought.

'Roger... he literally looks like the anime scene where he first recruited Rayleigh outside his boat, babbling about a fateful meeting.'

Gol D. Roger was dressed as usual, wearing his straw hat and a black buttoned shirt. His well-trained upper body was clearly visible to everyone. It matched his height of about 2.75m. Over that, he wore a black coat and blue trousers. Around his waist was his Supreme Grade sword, Ace.

Rayleigh, however, was about 1.90m. He had mid-length blonde hair, a scar over his right eye that was quite prominent, and he wore glasses. In addition, he was wearing a purple-colored coat that was buttoned all the way up, with a sword strapped around his waist.

Pride was momentarily stunned as he overheard the Roger pirates' conversation.

"RA-HAH, bartender! One more glass for the young man over here!" Roger's voice chimed in.

"I heard that you are planning to sail to the East Blue. Please take me with you until then!" Pride said determinedly.

"Young man, We....."

But before he could finish his sentence, he was cut off.

"Pride is my name."

"RA-HAH, Pride. We're being chased by Vice Admiral Garp and Vice Admiral Sengoku of the Marines. That's why we're here right now.

Hearing Roger's explanation, Pride fell into another trance-like stupor.

"It's time to celebrate!" the majority of Roger's crew shouted as they banged their cups on the table.
