Chapter 9: A mob that uses a sword
...
The sounds of children swinging their bamboo swords and letting out exhausted breaths spread across the whole dojo.
""Ha!""
""Ha!""
""Ha!""
Koushirou stood in front of everyone while observing and pointing out every mistake he managed to spot in our swings.
"Put more strength in your arms!"
""Yes!!""
I was, of course, practicing my basic swings while listening to his instruction like all the other kids from the dojo.
...
Well, almost everyone...
"Hyaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!"
*Tak!*
*Tak*
*Tak*
*Tak*
"wha... he is doing it again..." One of my mob companions exclaimed after seeing the incredible speed the attacks from Zoro had, which prompted all my other companions to exclaim their astonishment as well.
"He's a monster...!"
"How can he handle that many swords at the same time?!"
"Doesn't he get tired?!" I exclaimed with an astonished expression on my face.
Zoro, that was currently barraging a poor log with many slashes from his swords, kept practicing his three sword style while screaming like a madman to fuel his determination to defeat Kuina.
"HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"
*Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak Tak!!*
Talk about fighting spirit... I am even starting to feel bad for that log that is receiving such a beating...
Of course, Koushirou reprimanded us for not paying attention to his lessons, just as I planned from the beginning of course...
As this was a situation where the mobs like me tend to focus on the inhuman abilities the main characters have, and then get reprimanded by their teacher for not listening to their lessons, it was such a cliché situation that I needed to take part in it!
And if you thought I was just wasting my time by practicing the basic swings like all the other kids... Then you are wrong!
Although it may look like that from outside... Reality was completely different.
My current stance was sightly different from everyone else here. What could seem like me just swinging my sword while standing with a solid stance was instead a very hardcore position that placed all my weight directly on my unused muscles and pushed me to maintain my own balance while still swinging my sword without losing my appearance as a normal kid just swinging his sword without any spice of talent.
Of course, I made sure that the difference was minimum enough so that Koushirou couldn't notice. Otherwise, I could have been probably discovered a long time ago.
And this sure hurt like hell, but you know what they say... No pain no gain.
Of course, I wasn't just training my body. I was as well using my mind to imagine a spar against Koushirou with the abilities he has shown so far. And whenever I made any error or unnecessary movement while in combat, I could make sure to correct it and then imbue the new knowledge right into my head. Perfecting my own swordsmanship style in the process.
Unfortunately, Koushirou hasn't shown that many abilities until now. So the Koushirou I was fighting in my mind wasn't that strong either...
Should I come one day here as a bandit boss? Maybe that way I can make him use more strength...?
"Sid, lower your stance a bit"
"Yes!"
Oh fuck he made this stance even more difficult...!!!!
I can't falter! I must not fall to the ground!
NO PAIN NO GAIN.
NO PAIN NO GAIN.
NO PAIN NO GAIN.

A few hours later...
Inside a forest, sounds similar to explosions could be heard from time to time inside a small area of the forest. Along with small groans from a little kid.
*BOOM!!*
Of course, the one that was causing so much ruckus in the middle of the forest at night was me, the great Shadow eminence candidate, Sid!
You might be wondering what the heck am I doing in the middle of the forest at night? Well... It's pretty simple, just like all those MCs in the fanfictions of One piece I used to read, I'm practicing Soru by following the training they did.
Kicking the ground off 10 times in just the blink of an eye... How hard could that be?
*Bang!!*
"Argh!!"
Well... it certainly wasn't easy...
I accidentally smashed my head against a tree after successfully kicking the ground 5 times in the blink of an eye. And this was just one of the many times that such a thing happened.
Well, at least I could say my progress was pretty fast for a newbie that has only trained for the last three nights and has already reached 5 kicks in the blink of an eye.
I also tried learning Shigan, that allowed me to use my finger similarly to a bullet by moving it extremely fast, However, the first night I tried using it I ended up breaking my finger.
Don't ask how it happened...
Anyways, after arriving to the conclusion that going to the dojo with my fingers broken could make me stand out, I decided to postpone my training in Shigan for another moment.
"Alright, maybe I should use a bit more strength this time?"
I closed my eyes and started concentrating on my rhythm so that I could use Soru without problems
"Fuuuuh~..."
...
Now!
*Boom!!*
The ground beneath me shook sightly after I used Soru and I was sent flying at an incredible speed in some strange direction.
"Oops, I forgot to calculate in which direction to go because I was concentrating on how much strength to put on my legs... I guess I'll have to concentrate more next time..."
However, not everything was misfortune this time, because I actually managed to increase my kicking speed to that of 7 kicks in the blink of an eye! At this rate it could only take me a few more days to completely master Soru and then proceed with the next technique of the Rokushiki.
While I was lost on my thoughts, I actually didn't notice that I was currently flying at a terrifying speed without any sign of stopping for now.
Only after a few more seconds did I really notice my current situation and tried to stop my self using my feet to slow down my speed. Something that didn't actually end well, because I accidentally ended up tripping on my self before being sent rolling through the ground without any sign on stopping.
"Sooomeee oooneeee stoopp meee pleeeaseeee!"
The speed at which I was launched and the dizziness I was feeling prevented me completely from stopping myself properly, so I was completely helpless until I managed to crash against something or my speed slowed down.
It took a while, but after a few more seconds I finally stopped rolling after accidentally crashing against a tree.
*Bam!*
"Argh!... Ugh... I am all dizzy now..."
"Who are you?" A bamboo sword was suddenly pointed straight towards my face while I was still recovering myself from the impact with the tree.
"Huh?"
After my mind cleared up, I saw a pretty girl with short blue hair staring straight down towards my face with an expression full of amusement and suspicion.
Kuina...?
Oh fuck.
