The smile on her face collapsed as she stared at the person outside.
“Why are you here?”
Why was Qi Lingyan so hard to get rid of?
Qi Lingyan was not happy with Su Xiaonai’s attitude. He snorted and walked straight to the living room.
“Where’s my Grandmother?”
Su Xiaonai didn’t respond, but Su Mubai answered his question.
“Grandma is in the guest room.”
Not expecting an answer this simple, Qi Lingyan somehow felt a little dumb. He turned his head away in embarrassment.
He looked at Su Xiaonai again.
“Did you see the news this morning?”
It would have been better if he didn’t bring this up. The moment she heard Qi Lingyan mentioning the news, she felt the frustration in her stomach. Angrily she questioned Qi Lingyan.
“Was it you that posted it?”
Qi Lingyan looked down at Su Xiaonai condescendingly, his words cold.
“Why would I do that?”
Qi Lingyan thought for a moment, his gaze lingering on Su Xiaonai.
“Isn’t that what you wanted? To let everyone know you’re trying to seduce me.”
Qi Lingyan sounded so certain that Su Xiaonai would have believed him if she didn’t know the truth.
“Seduce you? Are you crazy?”
Qi Lingyan ignored Su Xiaonai’s exasperation and continued talking.
“And you phoned the media as well?”
Su Xiaonai felt a surge of anger as she turned around and took a few deep breaths, her hand covering her forehead. She felt wronged.
Noticing his mother’s distress, Su Mubei was full of fury. He ran to Qi Lingyan and kicked his calf with all his might.
But he was just a child. Even with his full strength, he couldn’t really hurt an adult.
Qi Lingyan felt a slight pain in his leg and glanced at Su Mubei.
Su Mubei was glaring ferociously at Qi Lingyan with his hands on his waist, looking like he was about to explode.
Su Mubai also pouted in disappointment and looked at Qi Lingyan with a bitter gaze.
She didn’t expect him to wrong her mommy.
Feeling the resentful gaze behind him, Qi Lingyan stiffened and looked towards Su Mubai. Before his eyes could meet hers, Su Mubai looked away.
Qi Lingyan swallowed helplessly and didn’t know what to do.
The old lady was woken up by the noise outside. Walking out of the guest room, she was a little taken aback by the tension in the room.
Su Mubei walked over, stood on his tiptoes and whispered into the old lady’s ear, explaining everything to her.
The old lady turned angry as she listened. Looking at her grandson, she defended Su Xiaonai.
“Xiaonai is not that kind of person. Like the old saying goes, Lingyan, don’t judge a gentleman with your own narrow-mindedness.”
The defense that came from the old lady dissipated Su Xiaonai’s anger a little. She forced herself to calm down and spoke, a remnant of rage still present in her tone.
“Ma’am, if you want to visit us anytime, just let me know. You’re always welcome here.”
Su Xiaonai paused for a moment, then glanced at Qi Lingyan with sarcasm.
“But I don’t think I’d welcome anyone here, especially men who are self-important and arrogant and who never even bother to communicate with others.”
She could very well have spelled out his name. Qi Lingyan froze and was about to retort when he was stopped by the old lady’s eyes.
He could only swallow his anger.
After he sorted out his mood, he said to the old lady.
“Come on, Grandmother. It’s time to go home.”

The old lady knew that she couldn’t stay any longer, so she nodded. Before she left, she walked up to Su Xiaonai.
Taking out her phone, she opened her WeChat account and pulled up the barcode.
Su Xiaonai paused, then she understood.
She added the old lady on WeChat. Looking at the confirmation with satisfaction, the old lady bade farewell to Su Xiaonai’s family.
