When I came to, it was dark. There was something hanging overhead that blocked any light peeking through, and there was even a pillow and blanket for my peruse - currently the former cushioning my head and the other draped over my body.

I wasn't sure how they had done it, but I was lying on a bench that was attached to the wall of the subway, and they were able to make a semi-tent.

"Finally awake?"

For a moment, I was disoriented and wasn't able to answer the call of the other person coming in.

"--- -----?" I mumbled, furrowing my brows and eyes watering at the sudden exposure of light and a silhouette.

Through the light of the curtain being lifted, I was able to make out Mrs. Wang's stern features.

Oh, it's Mrs. Wang.

To be honest, I was surprised she had come to find me, and to be the first person I saw upon waking up.

It would make more sense if she kicked me out to fend for myself, or got rid of me now that she was King.

Or perhaps, she wanted to keep me as a useful member of her group?

Well, no matter. I prepared another way out in this worse-case-scenario in this gamble.

"Took you long enough. You were unconscious for a full day."

Not surprising since this is the first time I pushed myself to this point. I thought.

"Anyways, good job. It seems I underestimated you, kiddo." Mrs. Wang exhaled as she spoke, and from her suit took out an object and held it out to me.

Full of distrust, I looked at the object held out toward me.

"What's this?" I wrinkled my nose.

"What, did sleeping make your brain cells moldy?" Mrs. Wang gave a soft snort.

Studying the object more closely, I realized it was a flag.

A black-coloured flag, to be exact.

I was stunned.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Mrs. Wang lifted her brow at me, "You gave it to me in that foolish plan of yours, so I'm now giving it back."

I took the flag.

[Incarnation Wang Jeongkkok has transferred ownership of the flag to you.]

[The abdication of a King to a new born King has concluded. Choose your 'King's Path'.]

  1. King of Cowardice
  2. King of Recklessness
  3. King of Solitude
  4. King of...

+

Why do all of them seem to be roasting me? I bemoaned as I scrolled through the options. If the selection was this, I would rather not choose an option, thank you very much.

Let's recall. Which title meant what ability to go along with it?

King of Solitude, King of Arrogance and Hypocrisy among others sounded familiar, but I couldn't remember their attributes.

[King of No Killing.]

I paused briefly when I came to this title.

This one was a title first obtained by Selena Kim who was separated by an entire ocean, and one of the subordinates of the only prophet known to date in [Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World].

As the name suggested, to have the qualifications to obtain this title and ability, you had to not have killed to get to this point.

Hard as the conditions were, where everyone had to resort to killing through one way or the other to survive, naturally, the ability of [King of No Killing] was very useful.

Another chance at life after death, granted you gathered enough 'good karma' points.

As I had never killed anyone directly through some overlooking means of the system, this was one of the options for me.

I guess this is the one? Since I have no clue when I'll die in this world.

But just as my finger descended to the option, I was suddenly unable to move.

[D #n ' t]

It was so painful, like my brain was being drilled into my many small needles. I felt like it would implode in my head as I caught the glimpse of the Star Stream's Messenger in the room.

Again, it took the form of a little body littered with wounds and covered by bandages. His soulless eyes interlocked mine, as a contrast to the untainted and bright white coat over his body.

[T h4 y w* n 't be h @p n't let yo u...]

It may have been my imagination, but in the moment where we could do nothing but maintain eye-contact, their image began to morph into the image of a girl...

My mind was playing tricks on me, and it hurt like hell.

I wanted to know, who did this boy remind me of?

Unfortunately, I didn't have the luxury to ponder. Soon, the pain was causing static to sound in my ears and flashes of white crossed my vision.

With all the might of my survival instincts, I wretched my hand way from [King of No Killing] and picked the option below it.

[The new attribute, 'Not a King' has been obtained!]

Taking in a deep gasp, I groaned as the pain suddenly disappeared.

Mrs. Wang gave me a look that read, 'What happened to you in that short moment?' but I couldn't answer it.

In my urgent survival screams, I picked an option that I hadn't even read properly, and I opened my Attribute Window to examine it quickly.

Please don't tell me I chose a crappy one. Please don't tell me I chose a crappy one.

I zoned in on 'Not a King'.

[Not a King]

- You and your station members will not be affected by another king's influence. After all, you're not a king yourself, so why should others care? They say a new-born calf is not afraid of the tiger. Of course, this also means you can't provide your station members with any buffs pertaining to the flag, so good luck.

Note: You are not a king.

What the f- I was filled with the intent to curse. To actually curse.

"So, what 'king' are you?" Mrs. Wang prompted, seeing my reaction. She was probably gloating after seeing my reaction that spelt 'not good'.

"...Not a king."

"What was that?" Mrs. Wang leaned forward a little, perhaps because my voice was too quiet.

Clearing my throat, I spoke loudly and clearly.

"I said, I'm Not, A, King."

"What?" Mrs. Wang looked at me like I was saying a good joke, "I know you're not literally one, you brat, I'm asking what attribute you got."

I smirked at Mrs. Wang, a little irritated despite myself. "I've already said it."

"Already said it..." Mrs. Wang muttered, a little bewildered.

But just as Mrs. Wang was contemplating my words, her head jerked upwards.

Dodging out of the way, the tent collapsed on itself, and in the confusion, Jie Kushin grabbed my arm and pulled me out.

"We've got your base under control! Surrender your rights as a king, and we will let everyone go!"

That sounded like Christina.

Oh.

"Jie Kushin, tell everyone to stop." I quickly spoke to Jie Kushin.

"Stop? Spy friend, what do you mean? No, were you threatened? Blackmailed?" Jie Kushin became alarmed.

I face-palmed.

"No, what I mean is that Mrs. Wang is on our side. I am the 'king' now. So there's no need for this plan anymore."

"Huh? Then I'll-" Before Jie Kushin could reply, an enraged shout came from behind him.

Pushing me behind him abruptly, he stepped out to meet Mrs. Wang.

He punched out, and Mrs. Wang swerved out of the way, before advancing closer.

"Ah! Over there!" Christina spotted us, and brought forward her forces, Su Peng in the lead.

Just as I thought the situation couldn't get any worse, the underlings previously under the Tyrant King blew their top and broke free from their restraints, rushing forward to meet Su Peng's forces.

"Show our loyalty to our new king!" They shouted.

No way, are they actually afraid? I looked at the underling's expression on their faces.

Although, some of them looked at this as an opportunity as well.

Still, I didn't have time to analyze their outburst, because of the indirect messages popping out.

[Monarch of Small Flies is waiting for the blood. They say whoever crushes Incarnations Kang Ooyun or Sam Sungdong will be rewarded with 1 000 coins! 100 coins have been sponsored.]

[Great King Heoncheon Hongdo Gyungmun wishes for both sides to completely annihilate each other!]

[Great King Heoncheon Hongdo Gyungmum shows hostility towards you for reducing his incarnation to this state.]

[Some constellations are interested in the drama! 500 coins have been sponsored.]

I won't let this continue being 'entertainment' for you guys. Watching two sides clash, when they were both on my side, was the most uncomfortable thing I witnessed for a while.

Intelligent species on the sidelines jeering the fight on, be it constellation or dokkaebi, was incredibly angering.

[What do you plan to do now?] Youngkik sent me a message. The first in a while.

"Stopping it, of course. Youngkik, let me buy a loudspeaker fragment from the Dokkaebi bag."

[Sure.]

[700 coins have been used as a purchase.]

Why are they so expensive? As expected, everything is a scam.

I picked up the Loudspeaker (area) x1 piece and spoke into it. This should last a while, at least.

"Everyone, stop fighting. I am the new leader of this station, and it won't do if our forces keep fighting against each other."

Hearing such a loud and clear message permeating through the whole area, the people punching and kicking each other all paused subconsciously in their actions.

"So are you our new king?!" One of the previous Tyrant King's underlings shouted out.

Everyone trained their eyes toward me, waiting for my next words.

Despite the fact that not everyone could see, I shook my head and spoke,

"I'm Not a King. You can refer to me as a Spokesperson. The person I follow is somewhere else right now."

Everyone looked confused, except for Jie Kushin and co.

"Not a king...?"

"Isn't the leader of the station a king?"

"How could she not be? This doesn't make any sense."

Don't throw labels onto me. I don't need it.

I continued,

"Don't be buried in the roleplay. Does a measly brown-coloured flag really mean the person is suddenly a king? If we use your words, then the 'king' I follow is Lee Sookyung, even if she does not have a flag."

"But-"

"Call me Spokesperson!" I shouted into the loudspeaker with all my strength, "If you really want to call someone a king, call Lee Sookyung a king, not me! If you really want to follow someone, follow Lee Sookyung! But I'm not a king. Got it?"

Christina covered her ears with a grimace and shouted back, "Why do you need to shout?! Are you so triggered?!"

"Because you guys are fighting each other, goshdarnit!" I shouted back, but this time the loudspeaker had already used up all that it allowed me to scream into.

I couldn't resist hurling it at the ground in frustration.

As it skidded upward from the rebound, it disintegrated into nothingness after reaching the end of its lifespan as a one-use item.

I heaved in deep breaths as I trembled in being worked up.

"Anyways, are you guys done fighting? Or do I need to administer punishment?" I shouted so everyone could hear.

The people entangled in the fighting sheepishly looked at each other and backed away.

"...Yes, Spokesperson-nim."

I heaved a huge sigh. Not good, I doused my anger out on everyone.

But at the very least, I told everyone about Lee Sookyung, as I was her spokesperson, after all.
