Chapter 19: A Bet

It had been a week since the church incident and Sora saving Asia. He stayed home from school to treat and comfort her until she got back up on her feet. He prepared her own room and all the clothes and accessories she could ever need. 

Though Asia seemed more interested in being close to Sora as much as she could, even climbing to sleep with him in the middle of the night. Sora encouraged all of this behavior and never once declined a single request she made to him no matter the size or significance.

"*I will become her rock.*" He told Ea via their mind link. "*I will be the pillar she clings to and supports her no matter what.*" He thought proudly.

"*You already seem to be that to her master Sora.*" Ea responded "*I think it will be up to you if you want your relationship to develop further.*"

"*Not yet she just suffered a traumatic experience Im not gonna try to get into her pants it may ruin everything.*" He said dismissing her idea.

"*Well if you want to lose your v card so badly why not just use your compulsion and then make her forget.*" Suggested Ea 

"*I won't ever do something like that Ea!*" He shouted at her angrily. "*Do you think that's what I am!?*" He asked

Ea became silent; it was the first time since they arrived in the lower world that Sora ever yelled at her.

"*Im many things Ea but a fucking rapist isn't one of them!*" He said "*Don't ever make a suggestion like that again!*"

"*I apologize for my senseless remark.*" Said Ea after some time apologetically.

Sora regained his cool and calmed his nerves.

"*It's fine Ea there are just somethings a person shouldn't do even if they can.*" He responded calmly.

Ea again apologized for her blunder before Sora dismissed it and they got back on track. They were going over Asia transfer papers to Kuoh Academy where she would be in the same class as Sora. 

Now that he freed her from the fallen angels and gained her loyalty it was time to begin the next stage of his plans. It was almost a certainty that an opportunity would present itself as soon as he returned to school hence another reason he held off from going.

After he got done preparing dinner Asia came down to eat at his table. She wore a blue evening dress with yellow flowers. While she ate Sora drank what appeared to be wine in front of her. After some time, Asia finally asked a question that had been bothering her for the last week.

"Um, Sora" She asked fidgety

"Yes Asia what is it?" He asked

"Um I was just wondering why don't you ever eat any of the food you cook?" She asked.

Sora just looked at her surprised by her question and straightforwardness.

"I don't mean to pry or anything, it's just I've never seen you touch a single piece of food since I started staying here." She remarked nervously worried she might have angered him.

"It's fine, Asia it's natural you would wonder about that." He said dismissing her worry's. "The truth is I can't eat regular food normally."

Asia looked at him surprised by his answer.

"Why?" she asked.

"Well I'm not entirely human so eating human food can be hard on my stomach you see." He said, taking a sip from his wine glass.

"Really?" She backed away from him slightly "Then what are you?"

"I wasn't trying to hide it from you or anything." He said giving her a gentle smile noticing her reaction. "It's just you've been through so much I didn't want to burden you further."

Asia was touched by his consideration after her recent near death experience that she moved closer to him and touched his hand. Sora smiled at the intimate gesture and continued with his explanation.

"I'm an undead among other things." He said "Though part of me is human, most of me is supernatural that's why I was able to save you."

"OK that's new so then what can you eat?" She said no longer fearing after remembering he saved her life and gave her a home.

"Blood mostly." He responded by swirling his wine glass filled with red liquid.

"Who's blood exactly?" She asked nervously subconsciously, touching her neck. Asia remembered all the stories she read about vampires and their diets.

"Oh don't worry, it's not yours." He said, chuckling. "This is from a local cow." He said as he took a sip.

Asia relaxed completely after being told that he was feeding off of animals she ate meat too so drinking animal blood wasn't a big deal to her. Sora on the other hand was laughing to himself in his head. After all he didn't lie the blood he was drinking was from a cow just in the derogatory sense.

"You don't seem to be very frightened of me after learning of my nature." He said with an amused smile.

"You're my savior, of course I wouldn't be afraid of you over something so insignificant." She said energetically. We're family aren't we Sora.

"Yes, of course we are Asia." He said as he caressed her hair. 

After they finished eating Sora informed her how he had secured her transfer to his school and would be in the same class as him. She was overjoyed at the news but a little disappointed when she was told it would be a week before it was finalized. 

After a little more banter they decided to end it there for the evening cleaning up the kitchen and turning in for the night. As usual she came and climbed into his bed to sleep against his right arm searching for comfort. He ran his fingers through her hair and then held her head tight against his chest. His smile wouldn't disappear as the excitement he felt for what was to come his way at school tomorrow. 

The next day at Kuoh Academy

After classes had ended and Sora was gathering his things to head home a little white haired beauty was waiting outside for him. It seemed that Koneko was ordered to bring him to the Occult club to meet with their president again. Sora agreed of course and let her lead the way the whole walk there he could sense her nervousness even if her face didn't show it. She had her guard up and was ready to fight at a moment's notice. 

"*Well looks like the whole team got my message then.*" He thought with a smile.

"*You do know you could be walking into a trap right?*" Asked Ea.

"*It's fine, let's just play it by ear and see what she has to say. It's not like they are an actual threat to me.*" He responded with a laid back shrug.

"*That's true.*" Ea agreed.

After sometime they arrived at their club building again she led him inside and all the way to the club's meeting room. After Koneko knocked, Akeno answered and let both of them in. She gave Sora another seductive look while brushing her arm against her enormous breasts making them bounce. The movement made Sora blush as he tried to keep his cool and remain in control.

As he entered the dimly lit room he found Rias sitting at one of the couches awaiting his arrival. She beckoned him to sit across from her which he complied to . As he sat Kiba came out of the corner and stood to his right, while Koneko stood to his left. Akeno took her place beside Rias and in front of him all of them acted calm but Sora could sense they were ready to fight and set up defensive spells.

"*I'm surrounded huh.*" He thought to himself amused.

"Thank you for accepting my invitation again Sora." Rias said with a smile "Can I offer you any tea?" She asked

"No, no I'm fine, may I ask what business you have with me this time?" Sora asked coyly.

He could feel them all tense up after he skipped over the pleasantries and got straight down to business. 

"Straight to it huh." She said smiling "Well then Sora I would like to invite you to join my peerage." She said, giving him a business-like smile.

"Huh" Sora responded with mock surprise. "I'm sorry but what's a peerage? If you're talking about your club again, then I'm sorry but my answer hasn't changed."

Rias smiled confidently believing everything was proceeding just as she thought it would. 

"There's no point in playing dumb we know you know everything already, including how you took out those fallen angels on your own in the old church." She responded.

"Fallen angel?" He asked, acting confused. "What are you talking about?"

"Ara Ara please stop playing dumb we know that you fought in that church." Said Akeno laughing. "Our little Koneko here has quite the nose and remembers your scent quite well." 

Sora just sat at the couch quietly as if pondering something for a moment before finally answering.

"Well shit looks like I was a little too careless huh." He responded by dropping the pretentious noble act.

The whole peerage looked at him surprised that he would admit so quickly they had prepared a bunch of evidence in case he tried to deny it further.

"Well you admitted it pretty fast huh." said Kiba 

"What's the point? You all have already figured it out." He responded shrugging. "Why else would you call me he again and put up all those barriers and magic circles." He said with a grin.

It was Rias and her peerage turn to grow nervous after Sora saw through all their traps and defenses with just a glance.

"Now seriously why have you called me here Rias?" He asked seriously, making them grow tense.

"Like I already said, I want you to join my peerage." She responded, trying to regain control over the conversation.

"Why?" Asked Sora confused.

"Because I think your abilities would be an asset to my household." She responded 

"No no no, why would I join you?" He asked " I mean what could you possibly offer me to make me agree to become your servant?"

Rias and the others grew silent at his questions. 

"I'm already wealthy beyond measure, I'm strong and can protect myself. What could you offer me that I don't already have?" He asked.

"I think you'd be surprised The gremory family is one of the top families in the underworld and I will be the next head there's a lot I could help you with in the future."

"Oh yeah?" He asked sarcastically. "And when pray tell will that be? Tomorrow, next month, next year, 100 years when will these favors be happening exactly?"

Rias became quiet at his questions; it was the first time she had been backed into a corner like this during a devil deal. There really wasn't much she could offer him that he didn't already possess. 

"Well if thats it Im going to get going then." He said standing up from his seat to leave the way he came.

"Wait!" Rias shouted out to him, making Sora stop in his tracks without turning around. "Is there anything you want that will convince you to join my household?" She asked

Sora just grinned ear to ear at those worlds but kept his face hidden so they wouldn't see it.

"That's a good question." He said as if pondering her request. "OK Rias how about a bet?" 

"A Bet?" Rias asked, confused.

"That's right, if you win I'll consider joining your peerage." He said "But if I win you have to do something for me, interested?" He asked

Rias just stood there contemplating her options then decided she had nothing to lose.

"What kind of a bet?" She asked.

Sora just looked at her and in his head he was smiling ear to ear like a predator staring at a dumb animal.
