Chapter 4: What?

Marcus couldn't see anything as he was being transported in the beam of light. After about 5 min he wondered how long the trip was gonna take when suddenly the light vanished. He then found himself floating in the middle of the air high off the ground.

"What?" Was all he could say before he plummeted toward the earth hitting branches of trees on the way down. 

After spitting out the mouth full of dirt he ate from his fall he tried to organize his thoughts and figure out if his trip was successful or not. He used his magic sense to determine he was currently in japan, but for some reason he was in the mountains and not Kuoh town.

"That stupid fucking chair why did it drop me off in the mountains and not town?" Marcus wondered to himself trying to determine if this was an "accident" or not.

"Well whatever i'm here and alive that's all that matters." He said picking himself up from the dirt and dusting himself off. "If the transport was a complete success that means its two weeks before the start of the story." He said grinning.

"That means I have two weeks to get all my ducks lined up before we begin." He said laughing like some kind of comic book villain. 

"Well I'm not gonna accomplish anything standing around here, I better make my way to town." He said looking around trying to determine which way to go.

"Oh yeah" he remembered he had powers specifically for that. Marcus then activated a search spell to determine which way was Kuoh town, he felt his sight expand outward past the forest and the mountains searching like a bloodhound for his destination. After zooming in on the large town many miles away he knew he had to head southeast. 

"This is so sweet," He said to himself. "It's like I have google maps in my brain. I can see everything, every bird, every insect, every flower. This feels amazing."

Marcus marveled at one of the many of his new amazing abilities. He had always dreamed of having real powers like these but actually using them was 100x more amazing.

"That being said, I should definitely practice and learn how to control them properly." He thought to himself. "The last thing I need is to accidentally destroy Japan and wind up getting deleted by that asshole system."

Marcus gulped to himself remembering the stupid chairs not so veiled threat.

"That's fine, I'll just come back to these mountains in the near future." He decided "Anyway let's get going." Marcus opened up a teleportation circle and transported himself outside of the city.

He wanted to make sure the many devils and other supernatural beings weren't made aware of his presence. And he wasn’t sure if they would be able to sense the magic energy from his teleportation spell or not. So he decided to land 10 miles outside the town just to be safe. 

He then activated his ability shroud to completely hide his presence as he descended into the city. He noticed the landmarks and other scenery that he only ever saw animated or in ink. He had to admit seeing it in the flesh was a whole new experience and was stimulating his otaku urges in all the right ways.

"What a beautiful sight."  He thought as he moved shrouded in darkness throughout the city. "Let's stop at a hotel and gather my thoughts there." He decided

Marcus found himself a luxury hotel located deep in Kuoh town. Before getting to the entrance he deactivated his shroud ability and transformed his battle outfit into a tailored three piece black suit with gold trimming. He then approached the woman at the front desk to ask for a room. The young lady looked to be in her late twenties with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was too busy fumbling with paperwork to notice his approach.

"Excuse me" is all she heard and when she looked up to greet the customer she gasped and was taken aback.

The man standing before her had to be the most beautiful man she had ever seen.  His long black hair, his gentle ruby eyes, and the aura of nobility and elegance he emitted left her feeling like she was standing before a prince from a fairy tail. 

"um mm ah" the woman stumbled with her words she felt as if her brain might have short circuited.

Marcus gave the woman a gentle understanding smile revealing his perfect pearly white teeth nearly making her faint on the spot.

"How may I help you?" Asked the stuttering woman trying to calm herself down.

"I would like a room for 3 nights please." He responded smoothly, his voice matching his beautiful appearance.

"Of course." she stumbled again. " That will be 500 yen please."

"Not a problem" he responded, reaching his hand in his jacket pocket. He then activated his gate ability and materialized the amount that he needed.

He handed the cash to the still mesmerized woman before he asked "I would like my room on the top floor please."

"Not a problem." The woman hurriedly responded as she took the money. She was surprised someone carried that amount of cash on them, she figured he had money she just expected him to pay with a credit card instead.

"Thank you." He responded after the woman handed him his room key. As he turned to walk away the girl shouted out to him.

"Um if you don't mind what's your name?" She asked, blushing.

"My name is Mar...." Marcus quickly stopped himself mid sentence; he almost gave away his real name on instinct.

"I'm sorry, what did you say?" she asked again.

"Takashi, my name is Takashi." He responded with a smile.

"Takashi huh that's a nice name."She said, still blushing.

"What's yours if you don't mind my asking?"

"Oh my name is Tina, Tina Rou." She said smiling

"Tina, I think your name is nice too." 

"Thank you very much!" She responded very excitedly, her heart ready to pop out of her chest.

Marcus just waved her goodbye and made his way to the elevator. He took the elevator to the top floor and found his way to his room. After he entered and locked the door he activated a silence spell to keep any potential eavesdroppers from listening in on him.

"Well, it looks like the charm spell is working just fine." He said smirking with a devilish grin.

Back when he was picking out his abilities and he knew he wanted to head to the DxD world he decided to get a charm power that worked subconsciously. It would work to make him more appealing and attractive to any woman who gazed upon or spoke to him. He figured that since most of the main cast of this world were women, making it easier for them to like him was in his best interests. 

"Well I think it's time to get the ball rolling." He said with his signature grin as he gazed out the window overlooking the town of Kuoh.
