Sun Fang awoke to the sound of pancakes this time. He yawned, blinking awake and staring at the large TV screen. His eyebrows furrowed, it took him a moment to release what he was looking at. Apparently, even after sleeping for thirteen hours he’d still fallen asleep again. And on the couch, too. His neck disapproved.
At least his headache was gone.
Shuffling to his feet and into the hallway, he broke into the kitchen and was delighted to see that not only was Ivy cooking pancakes (his nose was topnotch) but Mianmian was sitting by the counter, sipping from a straw. When Mianmian noticed Sun Fang, he beamed and waved at him, ”Good morning, Sleeping Beauty? Feeling better now?”
”Yeah,” Sun Fang said, coughing a little to get rid of the hoarseness. He skipped over to Mianmian and sat down on the tall stool next to him, swinging an arm around Mianmian’s shoulders and hugging the other omega tightly. ”Thank you for coming,” he mumbled into Mianmian’s neck.
”Of course,” Mianmian whispered back, patting him on his back. His warm hand drifted over his back and Sun Fang gulped, then turned to face Ivy.
He asked, ”Are they done yet?”
”You can start getting ready,” Ivy responded. Sun Fang nodded, letting go of Mianmian to walk over to the counter and get the plates and other cutlery. He hummed below his breath as he did so, the smell of the pancakes buoying his mood.
He finished setting everything up just as Ivy placed a pile of steaming pancakes on the counter. There was a jar of homemade jam, too, that had Sun Fang salivating. He didn’t often get this for breakfast and if he didn’t know it was because he’d had a headache, he would have thought it was because of Mianmian visiting.
They ate in silence. Sun Fang swallowed down piece after piece until his stomach was so full that he felt like it was going to burst. He’d even gone overboard; it wasn’t the nice feeling of being full, but the unpleasant feeling of bloating from eating too much. Sun Fang grimaced when he finally put down his cutlery, pushing the plate away from him and picking up his glass of milk to occasionally sip from. Mianmian was eating much slower and so was still going strong. Ivy, meanwhile, was cleaning up from the cooking.
Sun Fang placed his elbow on the counter and his head on his hand, leaning his weight on that elbow. He allowed his eyes to unfocus, letting the sounds of Mianmian eating and Ivy cleaning envelope him in a cocoon.
It was nice.
He’d missed this. It had been ages since all three of them had been together, and it reminded him of his youth; of those years he and Mianmian were together and raising chaos. Of Ivy covering for them when they went on dates and cleaning up after they got too enthusiastic in the bedroom. Not that that had happened often, with how rare it was that Sun Fang actually felt like having sex, but every once in a while, he’d had the urge.
Ivy had always gotten as close to grimacing as it could, on those times.
Sun Fang smiled, tilting his head to the side. He pictured Ivy in those days; that snazzy suit, that stiff way it’d held itself. Ivy was, comparably, much more human now. A side-effect of living together with Sun Fang, he assumed.
”I’m done,” Mianmian said and sighed deeply, licking his lips. It made Sun Fang stare at his lip-piercing, and he quickly threw his gaze away. He was trying not to do that anymore.

Tapping his finger on the counter, he offered, ”Ivy cleaned the pool recently.”
Mianmian’s eyes lit up. ”Right!” He grinned and knocked his shoulder against Sun Fang’s, saying teasingly, ”You told me about that. It was a surprise, yeah? One that you utterly adore.”
Narrowing his eyes, Sun Fang snorted, ”Like you don’t adore your own pool.”
”Sure, but it wasn’t a present,” Mianmian pointed out. ”Moreover, it wasn’t even your birthday, right? Ivy did it just because.”
”Ivy is also right here.”
Mianmian laughed, his eyes twinkling. ”Ivy would tell you if it minded.”
Sun Fang frowned and looked over at Ivy, trying to spot any hint of it being uncomfortable. It was hard, with the lack of facial expressions. Despite knowing it for over four decades if Ivy didn’t want him to know what it was thinking or feeling, Sun Fang simply wouldn’t. It did annoy him a little because sometimes Ivy didn’t straight out say anything when something bothered him. And Sun Fang’s guesses tended to be way off.
”Whatever,” Sun Fang finally scoffed. He glared at Mianmian and asked, ”Do you want to swim or not?”
”Hell yeah, I want to swim on your balcony fifty floors off the ground,” Mianmian jumped off the stool and grinned brightly. He ruffled Sun Fang’s hair and said, ”How much cooler can a pool get, really? Your Ivy really is a marvel.”
Sun Fang rolled his eyes and followed Mianmian out into the hallway with a wave to Ivy. They split up to change into swimwear and Sun Fang took the opportunity to calm himself. He took his time changing, weaving his hair into an elegant braid after brushing it for somewhat longer than was strictly necessary.
Mianmian was already waiting for him on the balcony when Sun Fang stepped out. He was sitting on the edge of the pool, his legs in the water. When he saw Sun Fang, he smirked and cocked his head. ”Like what you see?” he drawled, his own eyes drifting over Sun Fang’s entire body.
Sun Fang laughed, his voice snorting by itself. He walked over and began to climb in the pool. ”Of course, honey,” he said in between his gentle laughter. ”You are just as captivating as always.”
Mianmian ducked his head a little and jumped in after him. He said, eyes glittering, ”Thank you, dear. But I’m afraid you outshine me like the sun outshines the stars.”
