A different roulette spun, this time with symbols instead of words and colors. Despite noticing where it stopped, the guide, as it was his job, made sure to announce it for me. “The result of your starting weapon is a bow.”

My hands clapped at his words out of compassion since he was making an effort to make everything fun.

“It’ll be stored in the inventory of the player, you’ll understand more when the time comes.”

I consented to his words holding in many doubts, but one that I had to take off my bountiful chest.

“How does the weapon work? Does it come with infinite arrows or something?”

The worm squirmed itself creepily, making an eerie sound as it went back and forth, causing me to think that was his way of nodding in agreement with me. And to my surprise with his following words, it actually was.

“A significant question indeed! But don’t worry, since they can be crafted with your skill, or easier yet, created by spending your own magic. Are you ready to enter the tutorial or do you wish to skip it?”

My brain remembered the rules, thus I questioned with that in mind. “It said the tutorial was optional. Does that mean that it’s worthless?”

“You’ll be able to learn a few things through experience.”

Some hesitation ran through me, but nonetheless, I felt like giving it a try. However, before consenting to his proposition, there was one last tiny thing I wanted to know.

“If I go... am I allowed to use my skill in there?”

“Yes. It serves mainly for the players to get used to them.”

With a cheerful smile, I responded eagerly, “sure, I’ll go and see what’s it all about then!”

“Very well.” To my surprise, the worm grew bigger, about four times my size. Following that, his smile turned into a circular hole, a more worm like mouth, and then it extended all the way down, creating a portal inside of it. Without shivering or fearing, my feet moved towards it, entering inside the tutorial. Once through, the portal closed, and the worm faintly muttered. “Good luck. I hope you find a way to survive in that nasty world within the board.”

In my eardrums, an unusual yet identical voice resounded as I was now in a new place.

Admin: Welcome to the tutorial. You may now explore at will. The administrators advise the players to check their menu, then page 3 to equip the free weapon. Everything is done by thinking about it.

‘Thinking, as in...’ I pondered about it as the voice suggested it, ending up on opening something, like at the time I touched one of those pieces.

Menu:

Page 1: Game Rules

Page 2: Player Status

Page 3: Inventory

Page 4: Tutorial Clock

Page 5: Chaos Timer

‘Would enemies appear out of nowhere right at the beginning?’ With some cautiousness, I hovered my eyes through the information, reading every bit till I found the third page. ‘Let’s do what the admin recommended and open this as the first step.’ I touched it lightly with my finger, causing it to change.

‘Seems like thinking isn’t the only way,’ A smile full of pride appeared on my expression at this peculiar discovery.

‘Now I have to equip it somehow...’ A wooden weapon appeared on my right hand, in exchange for some focus.

‘That was fairly easy to do. I love how simple these things are.’

Possibly from being born anew, I allowed myself to act mischievously, like a child.

‘This is so fun! I want to see more things, page 4 next!’

Tutorial Clock:

Time left to end: 9Hours | 58 Minutes

Without any minute to waste, and to see everything quickly before deciding on the next action, I concentrated on opening the last option.

System: Page 5 will be locked during the tutorial.

‘Would you look at that? It’s a different voice! A lot more mechanical and robotic compared to the admin one. If that’s how it is, how about the second one?’ Once more I concentrated, giving birth to a lengthy window.

Player Status:

| Level 1 | Experience: 0/100 |
| Race: Spirit | Type: Fairy |
| H: 150 cm | W: 40 kg | Gender: Hermaphrodite |
Energies:
| Life: 4/4 | Physical: 10/10 | Magical: 10/10|
| Skills(+) |

‘What’s all this?’ My indigo eyes hovered left and right, up and down, understanding most of them. For the level and experience section, I attempted to touch it. To my curiosity, that was in severe need of being satisfied, a message resounded.

System: Level is the designation given by the administrators on your prestige. Its number is valued through the accumulation of achievements in Anatra.

System: Experience, often a pair of level, it shows the current amount necessary to reach level 2.

“Hum... is that so?” I mumbled, some more entertained with the given information. “Then how about this energy word?” Once more, I tapped it lightly.

System: Throughout Anatra, many energies can be found. The energy of life you currently possess equals to the force that keeps you alive, it if reaches zero, you’ll be in an unconscious state for a while. The physical one is referred to the endurance your body can currently exert, from walking to running, and even jumping. Magical power is the necessary fuel to achieve the miracle usage of magic.

‘I guess that means there are bound to be other energies...’ I muttered some inaudible sounds, thinking further on the information.

‘If life reaches zero, it means I’ll be defenseless, and against an enemy, I might even die.’ Rough as it sounded like, I set my priority with that in mind, to no matter what allow it to go that low. Yet, the values were so abysmally low that I couldn’t help myself but gulp while despising my current weak self.

Nevertheless, as all must go on, my finger procured to touch the skills option.

Skills:
Unique: Craft.

“It’s there like mister guide said!” I smiled, touching on the unique word by mistake.

System: Throughout Anatra, unique tiered skills and any other thing with such a grade will be entitled, a one-of-a-kind.

“This sounds pretty amazing!” I yelled, causing my voice to echo through the four pathways around me. This time around, more carefully, I touched the right word.

Craft:

<Empty>

That was when, upon such sight, that all my hype disappeared instantly, leaving me with a sense of depression.

“Fuck me,” I cursed myself with disdain.
