—The Past Revisited—

A realm in the highest of heavens, floating platforms standing in the sky, far above the world below. Chains seeming to connect the many pathways, far ahead resting the gateway into the Heavenly Realm. Not too far from the gate is the guardian herself, someone who will pass judgment on all those who comes across her. A frightening one she is, despite the illusion of her beauty. A being wearing the armor of the Nine Winged Seraph. Pure white wings spreading afar, radiating a mesmerizing light. Eyes crimson as the moon, that angel wielding a velvet staff with the shape of a crescent moon. Blades layering upon the top of it, the angel floating just above a platform. Looking down past the clouds, conflict deeply rising within her.

Power...with the state of our home...power is what is needed. Is this...? Is this truly my limit...? Can I do no more...?

Desires deep inside, to gain what she is lacking. Even if her power is grand, there is still much she cannot do. To be able to reach her hand out, to take hold of the nigh impossible. Maybe, just maybe, those wishes far within can become a reality. That angel watching the clouds slowly floating along, frustration growing within her by the moment. Hope slowly fading, madness setting in. The gentle wind all around feeling ominous, dreadful feelings lingering.

I remember those earlier times. Where the gods kept balance between our worlds...but yet...yet there has been no word of them...what should I do...?

You told me something important...but what was it...?

Where are you...?

Events from the past appearing evermore unclear, a time where the gods has been supreme. However, those times being no more, almost as if they have come out of existence. Conflicting emotions clashing deep inside of her. A home that is on the brink of destruction, desires lingering far within. Limitations making itself into reality, such causing aggravation inside her, searching for any possible solution.

Lost Angel, you seem to be conflicted.

"Hades..." Disgust expressing within her voice.

That voice echoing through her mind, a deity reaching her all the way in such a realm. Her skin slightly crawling, even so, her resolve trying to hold strong. That angel looking around the area, searching for the Dark Lord, his voice ringing through her. Slightly scowling, some unease from her, unable in determining his location. The presence of the god feeling all around her, a truly frightening one he is. Even if he is not within her vision, it does not matter much. In the line of battle, one must be willing to work under any circumstances.

Hm hm, fear not. I am merely communicating telepathically.

"What do you want...?" her tone slightly threatening.

A bit of a deal, what do you say?

An agreement of some sort, this being no doubt a trap. A deity reaching his voice to the high heavens, one that is residing in a world far from her own. No matter so, even if she is feeling much disgust, hearing him out will be of the better option. With the gods nowhere, and someone all too dear being away, the situation is becoming more grim. A most unsettling experience this is, but those desires inside of her yearning to come free. To be able to gain what she cannot, perhaps then there can be a brighter morrow.

"What deal?" she suspiciously questions, looking to the sky.

Let's just say, we will all get what we want heh heh.

"..."

Those words evermore suspicious, despite this, the temptation of it all gripping at the Seraph. That angel thinking on the offer, reflecting on the state of her home, her limitations being clear in mind. This may very well go against her resolve, but at least this deity is worth an ear. No matter how foolish of a decision this might be, those desires inside of her reaching out. To gain what she does not have, to be able to do the nigh impossible. Uneasiness being inside of her, but also the possibility of a new reality revealing itself.

"Very well...what do you want?" she reluctantly questions.

Nothing, just come to me in the castle of the Harmonizer.

"..."

The voice fading away, suspicious the tone of the deity has been. That gentle breeze hitting against her, her vision on the path ahead. That Seraph flying to the edge of the platform, resting her eyes upon the many clouds. Conflicting emotions clashing inside of her, foolish this might be, but definitely a way towards gaining what she does not have. Closing her eyes for a moment, reflecting on her path, soon opening them. Her decision in mind, Maria descending from the Heavenly Realm, heading towards the meeting location.

—Raiser's Castle—

The night evermore unforgiving, the coldness of it all chilling upon the bones. Deep below the castle, a room hiding away in the farthest reaches. That Seraph standing before the Lord of Darkness, their vision meeting with the other. A mighty dragon towering far over her, azure fire escaping from his jaws. A truly terrifying foe, one in which extreme caution is of necessity. Even so, if there is a chance to gain what is so deep inside, that desire to do what she cannot. The risk possibly being in worth with the cost, despite all of this, emotions boiling deep inside of the Seraph. Unsettling the event is feeling, but also almost as if something from her core is slowly coming about.

"So you came angel, I am surprised to be honest." He pleasantly states.

"You said you can give me what I desire, no doubt enough to protect my home." She uneasily responds.

"Did I say that now? Hm?" he smirks.

This coming as no surprise in all reality, that treacherous snake not holding true to his word. After all, bargaining with a devil of all beings might as well have been obvious. The mood of the Seraph shifting, divinity burning from her body. That light darkening with each moment, those emotions inside of her slowly coming out. Hades witnessing the shifting in her mood, a deity he may be, determination in making him regret ever lying to her. Reviver emitting a bright light, that shining warmth wrapping around the area. The Lord of Darkness stepping away, those eyes of his in some unease. Floating upon her side, directing her staff at Hades. Hatred burning deep inside of her vision. Manipulation disgusting her, one loathing such tactics, a mistake that may be his last. Endless emotions stirring at her core, rising to the surface, those crimson eyes of hers penetrating far within the mighty beast.

"Foolish monster, this will be the last mistake you will ever make." She coldly speaks.

Her voice leaving a stinging sensation within the soul of the dragon, something not being right with her, that tone she is taking, that posture, that confidence. It is sickeningly unnerving to the Lord of Darkness, a familiar tone this is, one that he cannot quite identify. That being floating before him, divinity and malevolence slowly rising inside of her. Emotions coming to its peak, a heart expressing deep hatred upon her enemy.

"Burn to ashes!" his voice echoing through the room.

Azure fire unleashing from his jaws, relentless fire scorching the room. Maria ascending high into the air, flying around the harsh flames. That Seraph floating above, those eyes unfazed by the monster far below her. Twirling her staff in hand, directing the weapon at the dragon. Flames of azure reacting to her weapon, that fire surrounding the Dark Lord in an inferno, the heat meaning little to the dragon. A prison of fire trapping him within, a feeble assault it is.

Expanding his wings, mightily flapping them. A powerful gust of wind tearing through, the harsh flames dispersing. Ashes falling from above, descending towards the ground. Great power this dragon is holding, far more than the angel can muster. Despite it all, those emotions deep inside of her, her resolve in meeting the challenge in kind. That dragon scraping his claw against the ground, those cold eyes being upon her. The beast moving with godlike speed, striking at her with his claw high in the air. That fearsome assault crashing into her, devastating the force is upon her.

"Gyah...!"

That Seraph crashing down into the ground, Hades descending upon her, those eyes of the angel struggling to open. The area immediately freezing over, a glacier of ice extending high. This taking Hades in surprise, an icy prison entombing the Lord of Darkness. Those eyes trying to visualize what is happening, the Seraph feeling the chilling breeze all around her. No doubt she is well in awareness of who is here, perhaps a most fortunate time, if not also a troubling one as well.

"Maria...! Maria!" a familiar voice calling out.

Slowly rising to her feet, that Seraph gathering herself for a moment. Her vision slightly blurring, slowly looking around, the coldness of the air becoming more and more apparent. Her eyes resting upon the glacier of ice, that dragon no more than a prisoner inside of it. A familiar person walking in front of her, holding her up. Disorienting the whole situation is, but no doubt she is aware of her safety.

"Valor..." She holds the side of her head.

"You okay?" he questions in much concern.

"I—I am so sorry..." She looks down with painful eyes.

The deity knowing full well of the many emotions eating away at her from day to day, much of which he cannot even begin to remedy. Decisions of desperation, one that is willing to do all that she can in order to see a brighter morrow. Glancing back to the dragon, expressing such hateful eyes upon the beast. There is a lot he can let slide, but taking advantage of his old friend is one that the god will not stand for, perhaps the dragon can repent in an eternal slumber.

"This monster is someone no one should make a deal with." Valor slightly scowling in disgust at the beast.

"...I just wanted...to be able to protect my home...our home..." She responds with a heavy heart.

This much being in his awareness, that old friend always trying to give it her all, this is something he can never show disapproval of. A sigh escaping him, despite the dilemma they are in, he cannot hold such a thing against her. There is much he is owing her, those many mistakes inside of his past. Those inactions leading to so many conflict of the current day, even now that old friend is trying to find solutions, no matter how unlikely it is to be a possibility. Even more so than this, those two against the Nine Worlds, helping each other through the harshest of times. A bond in which cannot be broken, the god calming down, looking towards her.

"It's okay."

Looking upon him, her eyes of confusion, wondering how he can be so forgiving. After all, it is of her own inability that such events even happen. Witnessing that faint smile of his, wondering how the deity can still express such. This action no doubt being unforgivable, one succumbing to their weakness to gain power. No matter so, it has always been like that she is thinking. Despite the conflicts, they will always rise above it, smiling at the other. Even if the situation is but a dire one, those two always tackling it together.

"We all make some stupid mistakes, can't tell you of how many times I screwed up. You don't need power Maria, I can feel deep within you an immense energy yet to be unlocked. Even more, remember this, okay? Power can destroy as well as create." He gently assures her.

"Destroy...as well as create..." She slightly looks away.

Taking his words to heart, one can create a nation out of power, yet that same thing can destroy it. Desires deep inside, everyone possessing these emotions. Validity inside of his statement, power being a double edged sword. It can do much good, and even greater harm. To be able to grasp the power of creation, and at the same time faltering to it. This much is remaining true, desires in which pushes onward, such can be destructive. Even if the heart is weak, it can always learn and adapt. That bond between two constantly thriving, no matter the morrow ahead.

"Yeah, power can easily betray one as well as assist, you just need to find a reason to use that power. Having a reason separates you—" Valor looking back to Hades.

"—from those like him." His voice cold upon the beast.

"..."

Memories of the distant past, a certain someone coming to his mind. The endless agony, that person going so far, reaching the nigh impossible. Despair clawing away at them in each moment, power unimaginable to achieve their deepest desire. Maria embracing those words, knowing that they are indeed true. The ice entombing the dragon beginning to crack, both immediately taking notice, turning their attention to the mighty beast, watching massive lumps of ice crashing down on the surrounding area.

"Come on, let's go take him to the cleaners." Valor smiling back at her with a thumb's up.

"Right." She brightly smiles at him.
