Chapter 5: chapter 5: it’s coming

"Where did you get that," Artemis asked fearfully.

"I'm... I'm not at liberty to say," I said.

"Can you at least promise you won't go using it without caution," she asked.

"What do you take me for, obviously I'm not going to go and kill a random being with it. I just use it on monsters I don't want to reform," I said.

"at least I can take comfort in that at least," she said.

"Now let's go eat dinner and get ready to sleep," I said.

The hunters still looked a little fearful near me but not the 8 kids I rescued. they wanted to hear story's about my adventures.

"oh, there was this one time a hydra wanted to destroy my home, so I killed it," I said nodding my head.

"what about that bad man that tried to hurt us. how many times have you killed him," Sophia asked?

I felt all the hunter's glances at me, I began to count in my head.

"let's see, what you should know is that titans reform quicker than other monsters, so let's see it would take him about ten months to a year to reform, and I was in Tartarus for 23. so maybe about 20ish times," I said while scratching my head.

I pulled out my map of Tartarus and laid it on the table. I pointed at the bottom right.

"that's usually where titans reform, however, I met Leto in the top right," I said.

"you weren't lying when you said you mapped it out," Artemis said.

"yeah, I didn't have many things to do besides fight or do housework. with Leto's help though it turned into a house. mine was just a shack I lived in," I said.

Leto laughed, "I remember entering and finding all the hellhound's hides and you trying to make it into an outfit."

I smiled, "yeah then you taught me how to sew and I cut my finger many times."

"oh, what about that time when you tried on a tree because you couldn't see," she said.

I laughed and put down my drink. "oh man I almost forgot about that."

"It seems like you guys know each other well," Artemis said.

"oh yeah, which I forgot you always said you wanted to meet my mother right. let's go in the morning so that the hunters can sleep," I said to Leto.

"yes, it would be a lovely experience," she said.

"Alright guys it's almost nine so I'm going to bed if you need me just yell. if you can't then think of my name and I will wake up immediately," I said as I walked out of the tent.

I didn't have a tent so I went to the picnic table and laid down and went to sleep. I surprisingly didn't have any dreams that night. when I woke up I noticed that I was on Leto's lap and she was playing with my hair.

"Is this your favorite thing to do now, play with my hair," I asked?

She just smiled and put her fingers in my hair, massaging it. I stayed quiet and enjoyed the massage that she gave me.

"you know looking back on it. I got used to Tartarus faster than the first time," I said.

"that's because you were alone the last time, this time you fell by yourself so you didn't have to worry about someone else," she said.

"Yeah, probably," I said as I looked up at her. "you have beautiful eyes."

she smiled softly before moving the hair off my face. I noticed that it was still dark out so I got up and grabbed a blanket that I assumed the hunters left for me.

I laid it on the floor and laid down on it and gave the invitation to lady leto. she rolled her eyes and joined me under the blanket.

"good night Leto," I said before closing my eyes. tonight I dreamt that I was at camp half-blood. I looked around only to find it destroyed. Fire from all the cabins, the dining hall destroyed, and a lot of monsters celebrating.

I awoke with a start and looked around quickly. Leto joined me and sat up. she looked at me concerned.

"what happened Perseus," she asked.

"Percy," I answered instinctively. "I dreamt that camp half-blood was razed by an army of monsters."

"that's concerning. you said you had a dream about this," she asked.

"yeah, and my dreams have never let me astray, so I know that it will happen. a part of me wants to see it destroyed, but at the same time I can't let innocent people die for the wrongdoing of others," I said.

"so what will YOU do Percy," she asked.

"I have to save their asses for the third time," I said.

I controlled the water and sent a drachma into it, "oh fleecy do me a solid and show me Zoe Nightshade, somewhere in America."

the image blurred for a second before showing Zoe sitting on a tree.

"Zoe," I called, to which she looked at me.

"Percy I see you got out again," she said.

"Zoe we have a problem, I need you to go to camp half-blood. monsters are going to invade," I said urgently.

her face showed shock before she nodded her head, "when will you be arriving so I can meet up with you."

"I will see if the hunt will come, if not then it's going to be me and you alone as backup," I said.

"Alright I'll see you there," she said as she waved her hand threw the iris message.

"Okay now that I have some reliable backup it's time to meet Artemis," I said.

"am I not considered a backup," Leto asked.

I rolled my eyes before I stretched out my senses and caused an earthquake so I can get everyone up.

they came out with bows drawn and daggers at the ready. they looked around before finding me and Leto, they reluctantly put their bows down.

"Alright listen up girls or do you prefer me to call you woman. nevermind I had a dream that camp half-blood is about to be destroyed. I want to know who is going to help me.

if you guys want to stay here then that's fine I'll go alone and deal with the monsters. Just know that I will not be able to protect you while I'm gone," I said.

Many of the hunters didn't want to go and that's fine with me however Thalia was persistent about going, so I had to let her come.

some older ones wanted to come with me but I denied them saying that we needed some to protect the little ones.

So in total, I had 6 hunters with me and Leto going. that's fine I could deal with that, I had them grab onto each other's shoulders so I could mist travel with them.

however, before I left I summoned some breakfast for them so they didn't have to hunt.

I then mist traveled us a mile from camp half-blood so this way we could meet up with Zoe.

"Alright let's set up camp. I'm going to scout out possible ways to defend this place. I'm going to see if the camp is aware or not," I said as I put up my hood.

I ran around the camp and made possible entry points the enemy could make. I also checked the labyrinth to make sure it was closed. it was.

I made a map and found the only possible entry point was the front where the Golden fleece was.

I went back to camp and found Zoe there. I walked up to her and presented her with the map to make sure I didn't miss a spot.

she nodded her head and said, "that's the only possible entry so should we warn the camp or should we just take care of it."

I thought for a while before coming up with something, "let's see how much they improve since the last time I came here."

I grabbed a paper and wrote that the camp will be attacked soon and to be prepared. then I went near the camp and put it on an arrow and shot it from a bow.

the arrow flew and it landed next to Dionysus's head. I smiled a little before I went back to the camp.

"since when did you get good with a bow," Thalia asked.

"When you are alone in Tartarus and have spare time then you pick up hobbies," I said.

We waited and saw a Horde of monsters approaching, we also saw camp half-blood preparing for the attack.

they all looked like new campers and I saw some of the older campers. I saw annabitch, Clarisse and Nico surprisingly.

Honestly not really, I'm pretty sure his dad told him to help out. I heard a voice that shouted "charge". I turned to the hunters and signaled to fire.

I then used the water in the air as a platform and hopped in the middle of the army. I rolled ducked and slashed my way in and out of enemies. I made sure to kill all the ones that were near me before heading to the next.

man, I felt like Madara Uchiha... I wonder who that was. by the time I killed most of the monsters, the campers managed to finally kill the monsters on their end.

when they saw me next to a bunch of monster dust they hesitantly raised their weapons again. however, before they charged or anything I heard a voice say "enough."

I turned around only to see my good friend Nico standing there. I then capped riptide again and put it back into my pocket.

"May I ask you what's your name, sir," Chiron asked.

"me? I'm just a demigod," I said as I was about to mist travel. however, somebody had to ruin it.

"Welcome back Peter Johnson," I heard Dionysus say.

the campers stood there in shock. did they hear that right, this white-haired man was Percy Jackson?

Annabeth tried coming up to me to hug me but I gave her that good Itachi kick. Malcolm came and picked her up yelling at me for kicking his girlfriend.

"These hands are rated E for everyone. god, demigod, primordial, or chaos himself or herself. is it herself or himself, I don't know their gender," I asked.

"It's herself," I heard from a voice behind me.

"or chaos her-," I stopped and turned around to meet a woman in a black dress that suit her.

"So what's this I hear about your hands Perseus,"

she asked.

"that's there rated E for everyone," I said.

I watched as chaos tapped her chin. she then looked at me and I could have sworn I saw galaxy's being made.

"then you have no problem fighting the commander in my army, right?" she asked.

"depends is it going to destroy this place," I asked uncertainly.

"any damage done I will repair," she said.

"with or without weapons," I asked.

"Whatever you choose," she said.

"right now or when you want," I asked.

she waved her hand and a man came out of the portal. he was almost my size, maybe a little bit taller. he had muscles but not over the top kind.

I thought about it and I was always a man of my words. I grabbed my sword and scythe and gave them to Leto for safe keeping.

"so you're going without weapons. interesting." I heard chaos say.

I looked at him and began to attack, he beat me to it though. I saw his punch coming at me and dodged it and counterattacked.

I hit him on his knee and then I slammed my palm upwards towards his chin.

It made a satisfying crunch and he stepped backward a couple of steps. he grabbed his chin and rubbed it for a couple of seconds.

"it's the first time someone hit me in a while," I heard him say, "now I'm getting serious."

he ran towards me quicker than before and started to punch at me. however, these punches still weren't fast enough. so I grabbed his arm and twisted it and punched him in his face sending him a few meters back.

He rushed towards me to attempt to grab me. I feinted going right before I hopped on his head and stirred him into a tree.

while he was a little dazed I punched him in his face over and over until I was certain he was unconscious.

I got up and noticed my hands were filled with blood. I looked over at chaos cupped and noticed it was filled with water.

I controlled it and washed my hands, getting rid of the blood. I looked up to see almost everyone was staring at me in awe.

"did you just use my drink to wash your hands," chaos said as she blinked multiple times?

"yes, you didn't give me a towel so I used water to clean the blood off," I said.

she stood there for a couple of seconds before she started laughing hysterically. I stood there waiting for my punishment for doing so, however, chaos had other plans.

"join my army Perseus, with you it will strengthen," she said.

" what does being in your army entail, because I draw a line on harming innocent people," I said.

"there's a combat instructor, there's a task force where we take out tyrants, or you just stay with me and do battle plans," she said.

"If I go will I be at the lowest rank, won't I," I asked?

"well duh just because you can beat one commander doesn't mean you get the position," she said as she rolled her eyes.

"dang, that sucks," I said, "if I go with you will the hunters be protected from outside monsters, titans, or gods," I asked.

"that will be arranged, and so will your bunk and other necessity," chaos said.

I looked over at Leto and she gave me the 'do what you have to do look'. I thought about it, killing tyrants was something I was good at. battle plans weren't my thing, I was more of a frontline fighter.

me being a combat instructor would be a problem too, couldn't stand other people not listening to my suggestions.

"I'll go but my only condition is to protect the hunt," I asked. "protect the hunt, if they can't deal with the monsters then whisk them away or something."

"that can be arranged. I'm going to assume you going to go for dealing with tyrants. that is the one that suits your character the most. alright here this will contact me when you are ready to leave," she said as she handed me a button.

"alright I still have the stuff to do anyways. so maybe a week at most. also, where will this take me because I don't want to be taken to a volcano or something," I asked?

she rolled her eyes before responding, "it takes you to the command center, where I'm located so I can get you up properly."

just like that that she waved her hand and she and her commander left, leaving me with camp half-blood and the hunters.

"alright hunters tell lady Artemis that I won't be with her for a while, and Leto we're meeting my mom before leaving," I said.

I waved my hand and the hunters disappeared only to reappear at the camp. meanwhile, I and Leto appeared outside of my house.

I knocked on the door mom opened it before smiling and pulling me into a hug. I hugged her before releasing her. I grabbed Leto's hand and pulled her into the house.

"so how was your journey Percy, you said you had a couple of things to do. also, who is she," mom rapid-fire asked?

"yeah I did but this lady is lady Leto she was somebody I met while I was away. she helped me out when I was alone," I said.

"Please don't bow to me, his mother and as his friend, that means you don't have to bow," she said as she stopped mom from bowing.

"Yeah don't worry she is like that, also I came here because she wanted to meet you, something about girls talk," she said.

Sally showed a knowing look to Leto. that's something I was still confused about, what did she want to talk about.

"Percy dear can you go take care of Estelle she's in the other room," mom asked.

"yeah sure," I said. I got up and went to my room where I found Estelle. I picked her up and held her.

"too bad I wasn't this adorable when I was younger," I said before I reached over and grabbed a toy.

I played with Estelle before I heard my mom yell. I quickly put Estelle in the crib and pulled out riptide and headed to the living room prepared to fight.

What I was met with was mom hugging Leto and screaming. I approached them before my mom saw me.

she pulled off her Sandal and threw them at me. I tried dodging it but she must have aimbot because it hit me in the forehead.

"Why didn't you tell me you had gotten engaged," she yelled.

I stood there in shock, I have forgotten that I was engaged with Artemis. I stood there looking dumb with my mouth gaping like a fish.

"I have to find out you got engaged twice from her," she said as she started hitting me with the sandal again.

"Stop, stop I forgot I'm sorry," I said repeatedly.

she didn't let me go for another five minutes before she sat back down at the table.

"now what's this I hear about you getting engaged," she asked.

before I could answer though I heard a knock at the door.

"I'm coming," I said as I headed to open the door.

I wasn't expecting her to show up right now.
