With his dumbassery finished, Ors and Rena finally could set out. Neither said anything as they walked out into the jungle at the edge of town.
Five minutes spent in total silence occurred until finally, both turned to each other and nodded, rushing off at max speed into the distance.
Once the town was long gone, the two took a break on a large boulder. "So it should only take us about three days to get there since my walking speed is around four miles per hour, ten hours a day is 40 miles. But I want us to take a little longer to train your moves along the way and get some more practical battle experience. How much do you know about this area?"
Promptly, Rena replied, "This is the same side of the city as my tribe, though it's about ten miles away. So I know the basic locations."
"Good. My aim is the go to the Watering Hole and battle with the rambunctious mons there. We're about a mile away, let's walk and talk along the way."
"I find this arrangement acceptable."
"So, what was your life like as a princess of a pokemon tribe?" This was a question Ors had wanted the answer to for a while, having heard a lot about royalty in stories, but never meeting one.
The hops of the pokemon lessened in vigor, as she returned to Ors' head. "Hard. I don't know how it is for the humans, but we royals had a lot of expectations thrust on us, with little rewards other than eating first."
"Heh, royalty for humans involves little work and high reward, so I'm sorry to hear that."
"Say, Ors? Have you looked at all the stuff you can about me. Like my parentage and stuff? Because... I don't know who my mom is and my dad refused to tell me." She asked in discomfort.
An awkward smile made its way onto Ors' face. "I looked through everything I could while we were in the hospital, but I'll need to increase my Special Attack score and total amount of energy. I could see that your father was a Poliwhirl of powerful breeding and that your mother was a Crawdaunt, but that's all."
Rena shook her head, "I'm afraid I don't know what a Crawdaunt is. We don't have whatever it is in our tribe, though father said he used to live on the coast."
"Sorry I can't help much at the moment. The only thing of interest I could see is that you have the ability to learn Crabhammer with enough work. But that's one of the most difficult water moves out there, so I hadn't planned to mention it until you reached near complete mastery over Aqua Jet."
"No, I thank you for that information. Am I ought to train focusing on my tail?"
Laughter echoed through the clearing they were walking through. "Hell no! You won't have your tail for too long. Honestly, I'd focus on your fists. Remember the intention is for you to be a ranged combatant though. Use Aqua Jet to dodge or finish an opponent off, don't punch unless its a last resort."
Crumpling in on herself, Rena despondently replied, "I have not seen father in a while, so I forgot I would lose my tail."
"It's fine, I didn't mean anything by it. You hadn't wanted to go by your tribe before we had left, had you?"
"Of course I did. But I ran with you so that I couldn't. It's not time for me to go yet. I haven't gotten to my brothers' level of power yet." She said the last part mostly to herself, but Ors heard it.
And he grinned. "Please, do tell me about your brothers."
"No need. We'll probably see them at the watering hole. I don't mind seeing them; it's father I simply cannot bear to face. I told him that I would not return until I had grown stronger than them, then I was almost immediately caught by a man in a white coat." She growled... well, it was more of a blubber, thinking of the scientist that caught her. It was meant to be a tease, not induce stress.
Ors bit his lip. "How strong would you rate them compared to me?"
"The eldest, Dino, is definitely stronger. He can use Swift with high prowess, meaning he's hard to beat as is, but having razor sharp stars flying at you while he attacks with Strength. Mochi is a maybe. He can use Night Slash, so dodging that can be a pain, but your speed should win. Gogo is a win for you for sure, and Bunpa even I can probably beat using your aqua jet and rain dance tactic, though he may have grown since I saw him last."
Rena went over her brother's abilities in deeper detail as Ors thought. 'Swift and night slash... If that's in their bloodline, maybe I can figure out a way to teach it to Rena? No, mastering Mud Shot to deal with Neon Town's electric types is what I need.'
By the time she finished, they could see the huge lake that acted as a watering hole for all the pokemon within five miles, under the control the Fennel Poli Tribe and Devikarp Clan.
"Ahhh, I can't wait to finally see the Devikarp in person!" They were Ghost and Water type Magikarp. Made sense considering Gyarados' dark mega evolution that they would exist somewhere.
Finally, they walked up to the area. It was huge. The brush covered most of the area, though breaking through it wasn't difficult. A thriving community was on the inside, where pokemon from Caterpie to their mortal enemy Weedle to the great predator Arbok lived in harmony.
A huge throne of stone sat in the middle of the lake, where a Black Gyarados, with thick red stripes running over it lengthwise, sat calmly, overlooking its territory. Rena stopped in her tracks.
"No way... HEY! GONGUTYUR!!!" She shouted, running at the Gyarados.
Ors nearly fainted. This wasn't how his pokemon usually acted in the slightest. Completely opposite her nature! "The fuck, Rena?" He ran after her.
Correction, he swam after her. All of the pokemon drinking or conversing simply turned away, as if not wanting to witness any carnage. 'Hmm, maybe I should..."

'Well shit. Rena better know what she's doing.'
And she did. By the time Ors finally got there, Rena was dancing around while talking to the Gyaraemon-Gyarados thing. They were friends somehow? The other pokemon seemed just as confused.
It looked down in amusement at the little ant that was climbing onto his rock. "Greetings, human. Die." A huge hyper beam formed in the back of its throat.
"Dammit, fine! I won't give up, you know?" Ors focused his energy into his feet until he formed the Boots of Hermes.
Move: Boots of Hermes
Type: Status
Power: --
Accuracy: --
Effect: Increases attack and speed to +6 stages, but lowers accuracy to -3 stages and drops user to 1 HP after use. The user will not feel pain from this recoil.
A lot of effort had been put into this move. Ors had been training this move more that anything other than his Corkscrew Cross, but hadn't done it until the day before the tournament.
The damage it dealt had been healed after the tournament by Coco and Joy, who warned him that this wasn't the move he had probably intended to make, as it dealt huge recoil damage, worse than even Belly Drum.
They were right. Ors just wanted to make the move tailwind but in the form of boots. But this was even better as a last resort.
The hyper beam light sputtered out as the huge pokemon yelled, "W-Wait, it was just a prank!"
However, there was no point as Ors went from 0 to 140 miles per hour in an instant. The flying energy on Ors' leg morphed into steel energy just as she finished her sentence. Ors' Steel Axe was already falling. (Iron Tail, but Ors doesn't have a tail.)
Ccckkk-Bt-t-t-tooooom!
The poor prankster had her head slammed directly into the hard ground, having not mobilized any energy to defend herself.
Assassinations were especially potent in this world because energy, not the skin of a pokemon, is what mostly protected them. Thus if they didn't have their energy mobilized, they couldn't take hits as well.
"OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW, OWWWWWW!" The massive snakelike fish screamed in agony, shaking all over the place, while glaring down at Ors, who was just standing on the rock on his hands, stunned. "You little shit, I was just trying to scare you a bit! Fighting isn't allowed at the watering hole!"
Ors just looked around, still not making proper sense of the situation. He quickly shrugged off his confusion, yelling back, "Hey, you just made a laseer that could literally melt me for a prank, I think attacking is justified in my position!"
"Umm, sorry big sis, but I'm going to have to agree with my trainer. That was a pretty deadly joke. Please forgive him. Ors, Gongutyur. Gongutyur, Ors." She introduced the two, attempting to pacify hostilities.
"Well, I forgive you for the joke, but we're not exactly equal here, since I barely really damaged you, but my legs are now torn to shreds."
He was fishing for either a strong berry or maybe a Clefairy or something. Although Gongutyur was still pissed about the pain of her skull cracking under the kick, she recognized how much worse Ors had it. He did underestimate the damage he did to her though. It totaled around 60, as it was a 100 power move with Ors' attack being 4x the usual.
"Fine. Sonia, come fix this stupid fucker..." She growled into the water.
A Lapras emerged from the surface. "As you wish. Please be nicer to guests, madam." She used three Life Dews, and Ors' legs started healing themselves back up.
"Hey, nice to finally see you again, Sonia!" Rena waved with her tail at the Lapras, who responded by waving her fin in turn, before submerging.
It took around three minutes for Ors to finally finish healing, giving time for Rena to talk to her childhood friend, who had recently evolved. But they weren't there to catch up. Not yet, at least.
They were here to train.
