"Sorry you couldn't meet my dad. I'm sure he'll be home tonight though." Sighed Ors. Typhon hadn't returned the night before, calling to inform the family that he would be held up for the night at work, as they were almost done with a big project.
The night prior, after eating as a family, Rena decided to sleep in her trainer's room in a small tank of water that Ors had from an old pet fish. "No problem, I'm just grateful for the lettuce. It was a delicacy in our tribe, so I haven't had any in ages."
"Well it's pretty cheap here in the human realm so-to-speak, so just ask for some whenever you want it. Actually, it's even cheaper than pokemon food." The two were almost ready for day one of three of training with Spenser. "The two" mostly meaning Ors as Rena didn't need to get dressed, just dry herself off.
Running out of the house early, both ensured they were quiet so as to not awaken the girls. "Ready Rena? Let's aqua jet all the way to the bus stop!" Ors yelled once far enough away from the house, flipping into a handstand."
"Understood, Orthus."
The two finally arrived at the bus stop a mere five seconds before the bus left, annoying the driver. Obviously it took a while considering they left an hour earlier than usual. Both were drenched, from sweat and water.
The driver forced Ors to put Rena in her pokeball before taking off. Driving into the bus stop nearest the school at 7:30, Rena and Ors couldn't take the time to train on the way to school, instead they followed the same arrangement as the day prior, pokemon holding onto a speeding trainer for dear life.
Thus, the two arrived at the training field, where Sylvester sat stretching in he middle of the field, six other students jabbering excitedly near him. Ors moved closer to catch what they were so enthralled by. Turns out Sylvester had somehow managed to convince the Farfetch'd to join his party.
It was a rare pokemon but not Galarian, thus it would reach its limit rather quickly. After all, its stat total was only in the mid 300s by Ors' memory. This did put him as the strongest in the class at the moment in terms of pokemon at the moment though. Especially with the moveset the thing had.
At the people's prodding, Sylvester released it.
Species: Farfetch'd
Type: Normal/Flying
Potential: Green
Abilities: Keen Eye, Inner Focus, Defiant
Level: 5
Learned Moves: Peck (B), Leer, Fury Cutter (B)
Egg Moves: Night Slash, Feather Dance, Sky Attack
The thing had fucking sky attack at level 5. It couldn't use it right now, certainly. It would take weeks, maybe months of training, as it's the second best flying move in terms of dealing damage behind brave bird, but it was definitely going to be a beast among non-Galarian Farfetch'd.
It's late-term drawbacks still made Ors happy with his choice however.
Feeling a presence suddenly appear behind him, Ors jumped forward. This was the correct decision as a bat came flying from his right at his side.
"Tch. Hey, fancy a pokemon battle, bitchboy?" Ors was still too busy sweating from nearly taking damage to his spinal cord to dignify Alynn with a reply.
Sighing, Ors released Rena from the pokeball he had put her in. "Fuck it, wanna have our first battle with this chick?" To which Rena nodded.
"Hah, a Poliwag could never take down my Machop! Go!" She cried waving her bat, which actually had a pokeball at the end of it.
Species: Orachian Machop
Type: Fighting/Dragon
Potential: Blue
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 3
Learned Moves: Leer, Low Kick, Focus Energy (I)
Egg Moves: Revenge (B), Dual Chop, Encore, Counter
"Shit, Rena, we're gonna be playing this one distance, ok? Tactic 3." Ors muttered. A focus energy/double power revenge combo would wipe Rena with a single hit.
The worst part is how well the ability sturdy complimented the egg move. Not the Rena could one tap this pokemon, but even if she could, she couldn't. Machop didn't come from the school, her parents must've bought it from a breeder.
"Let's do this, Machop, start with Focus Energy!" Alynn screamed, swinging her bat like a hooligan.
Rena, disgusted by this behavior, harrumphed. Ors grinned. "Let's have a powwow, shall we?" and a glob of blue energy shot into the sky. The whole class was now here and watching the battle, including Spenser, who decided to act as a referee.

Rain started falling immediately, and Rena, already knowing what to do, started spitting water guns at the Machop.
"Dodge, dammit!" Alynn yelled, the pokemon successfully dodging one gun, only to jump headfirst into another. Machop went flying back, but easily righted itself midair, landing serenely to finish its focus energy. Thin threads flowed through the air, showing it exactly where to attack, and with a "Dual Chop!" from Alynn, Machop didn't hold back.
"Use combo 2!"
With a mud shot on the ground in front of the, Rena quickly moved to the other side of the field using aqua jet. Machop slipped, falling facefirst on the ground. In the second it took to stand up, his opponent was already on the other side of the field.
"MA-MACHOP!"
A mud shot came flying in. Machop nearly dodged, but the bullet of wet earth managed to clip him in the side. The mud caked the fighting type pokemon's form, slowing it by quite a bit. At this point, the match was pretty much over.
"Encore!"
"Goddammit."
Concentric circles appeared in front of Machop, flying into Rena near-instantly. This wasn't completely horrible, as Rena had enough mastery over the move to use it at least ten times, more than enough to finish out the match, but if Machop charged forward, Rena couldn't use aqua jet to escape.
"Whatever you do, you can't engage in close combat!" Telepathically, Ors communicated to his pokemon.
From across the field, Alynn growled at Ors, "Stop being such a pussy and fight like a man!"
"My pokemon is female, dipshit! Rena, spam mud shot like there's no tomorrow!" Ors screamed back, finally having had enough.
And Rena did. After six of them hit, the encore and rain dance was undone. Machop had tried to put up a valiant battle, but just couldn't make it to his opponent. With speed down six stages, Machop was fucked. Ors had expected some supreme tactic after that encore, but really it just sealed the match. Alynn was... not very smart.
Until Alynn pointed her bat at Machop and a white powder shot at him. The pokemon move Haze was sealed inside an object. Apparently magic items were a thing in this world. 'Fuck rich people.'
A somewhat scary look on her face, Alynn yelled for a Dual Chop. Ors bit hit inner lip until blood trickled out. "Rena, trust me. Tank the hit and use rain dance again."
"Are you fucking insane?" She exploded in Ors' mind. "Fine." And the skies were soon downpouring once more.
BOOM! B-T-T-T-BOOM!
Two draconic karate chops hit one after the other, Rena flying back. "We win." Alynn said contemptuously.
"Rather pompous to say you win with just one hit, isn't it? Aqua jet, finish it." At high speeds, Rena flew in from the cloud of dust she had landed in, hitting Machop in the solar plexus. If it was any weaker, its lungs likely would've collapsed. That's called a critical hit.
"Oh yeah? Machop, use revenge!"
Ahem... But it failed.
Machop was out cold, blood streaming from its mouth. The draconic hide that covered it was chafed in multiple places from the mud shot, meaning it was torture on the poor thing just to move around. Lastly, it shook in sharp pain every time it inhaled, showing the damage to its ribs.
A quick, half-assed observe showed Rena's level to now be 4. "Good fight, Alynn. We whipped your ass even without a fancy magic bat. Alynn was on the verge of crying, already having spat out her gum and dropped her bat to attend to her pokemon.
She pulled out a shining blue berry. A Sol Berry, the evolved form of an Oran berry. Yes, berries evolved here as well. As did non-pokemon animals. Well the non-extinct ones.
Being a responsible young man, Ors looked at the weapon, seeing a dial at the bottom. The moves contained in the bat included Haze, Embargo, and Cotton Guard, changing when the dial is spun. Flicking the dial up revealed it also held the move Bonemerang.
Ors brought the bat back to her, "Hey, you should return your Machop so you can bring it to Nurse Coco." But Alynn only shook in rage, holding her pokemon.
"Alynn, did you hea-"
"ARGHHHHHHH Uhuhuhuhhhhhh!" She blubbered, brown energy flowing out from her body as she swung a brutal hit at Ors. It hit him directly in the liver. Ors' eyes showed only red. "Rena. Return."
She was sucked into the pokeball. "Time to fuck a hoe up!" And Ors swung down, Aura flowing off of his arm into Alynn. Dirt flew up from the hit, however, Alynn was still relatively fine, fighting aura surpressing normal aura.
"Corkscrew Cross!" He uppercut her chin using flying energy, dealing high damage and lifting her suspended in the air for a few seconds as he filled his other hand with flying type energy as well, punching at full force and putting all his weight into it.
Although Alynn raised both hands in an X in front of her, she saw the massive damage she was about to take and realized she fucked up.
"Enough. Frozen Wonderland." The principal stomped onto the ground, covering the ground in a thin layer of ice the whole way to the fighting duo. Solid ice snaked around them, lifting them into the air ten feet apart. The principal skated in between the two. "Honestly, you two... What should I do about this?"
The whole class looked on in utter astonishment.
