Chapter 11: Talk with Leon

Leon was there standing in front of Autumn and was looking at Autumn with a hint of curiosity. Autumn put down his cup and looked Leon in the eyes. They both exchange a glance before thinking in their minds. 

Autumn: 'He is strong.' 

Leon: 'This kid is interesting.' 

Autumn could tell that the one standing in front of him was strong no maybe a lot stronger than him as a trainer. [Keyword: Trainer] Autumn could indeed feel the presence of someone who has a lot of experience battling alongside their pokemons and the Aura of Leon exuded a surge of confidence and pride. Even if Autumn was in his prime back then he would still have a hard time battling this man in a Pokemon battle. Truly someone who deserved his respect. 

While Autumn was having these thoughts Leon similarly was also lost in his thoughts. He could feel that the kid in front of him carried a pressure it was faint to the point of non-existence but it was there. He had battled many people in his lifetime but the pressure that this kid exuded was like that of someone who would travel even the deep ends of a chasm without any fear. What Leon felt was that kid in front of him carried a fearless attitude. He could also confirm that when it comes to fearlessness this kid was way above him. 

Sonia: "Leon What are you doing here? I thought that you were still outside of Town." 

Leon: "Well I was just moving along the road and somehow ended up here." 

Sonia sighs as she knew about Leon's problem with directions whereas Autumn comes in front of Leon to introduce himself. 

Autumn: "Hello sir, My name is Autumn Oak. I came from Pallet Town and this one here is my partner Torchic." 

"Torchic" 

Leon: " Hmm" *Nods "Nice to meet you, 'Autumn', 'Torchic'. I am Leon the current champion of the Galar Region." 

Autumn: "I know I have seen your battles on Television, you were amazing." 

Leon: "Oh so you have seen some of my battles. Thank you for the praise." 

Autumn: "It's quite an honour to meet you in person Mr Leon. Your battles were always fun to watch." 

Autumn: 'This guy is no joke he has the skills and powers to be called the monarch. He is also quite unpredictable he will use brute force and break through the opponent's defence and win, according to my analysis of the battle I have seen so far but what impressed me was his way of utilising his pokemon's abilities in a battle.' 

Leon: "Oh you are exaggerating things, Autumn. By the way, your Torchic looks unique for its species. I don't think I have seen a Torchic of this variant." 

Autumn: "Yeah, Torchic gets that a lot he's my partner and my friend, no he is my family." 

Leon: " Well good to meet you but why have you come here moreover from Kanto." 

Autumn: "Well -" 

Sonia: "Did you forget that the competition for young talented individuals is being held in Galar this time around." 

Leon: "Yes I know, wait do you mean." 

Sonia: "Yup Autumn here is one of the contestants who has signed up for the event." 

Leon: "I see it makes sense so you are competing in this competition for young trainers right." 

Autumn: "Yeah and Gramps told me to win it."

Leon: "Gramps? Wait you said your name was Autumn Oak right? Are you perhaps Professor Oak's grandson?" 

Autumn: "Adoptive to be exact but yes I am indeed his Grandson." 

Leon nods his head in understanding before looking at Autumn again with a smile. 

Leon: "It's not going to be easy you know. There will be a lot of geniuses from all over the world from different regions." 

Autumn: "As I have said before I came here to win and I will definitely win this whole thing." 

Leon: "I like that confidence in your voice but remember it's not going to be easy." 

Autumn: "I know." 

Leon: "Good. Well I guess I have to go now it was nice meeting you Autumn. If I have time I will come to watch your performance in the competition, Good luck."

Autumn: "Well if you want to, please do and Thank you it was also nice talking to you." 

Leon nods his head before turning around and leaving. After Leon left Autumn looked toward Sonia and Professor Magnolia who were looking at him with a peculiar gaze. 

Autumn: "Umm is there something in my face?" 

Sonia: "No it's not that but Autumn." 

Autumn: "Yes" 

Sonia: "You are really mature for your age. You were talking with Leon like you guys are old friends even though it's your first time meeting each other." 

Professor Magnolia also nodded at Sonia's words. 

Autumn: "No it's just you guys exaggerating things. I was quite a nervous meeting Leon." 

Sonia: "The way that you talk didn't have any nervous tone to it. To be honest it felt like you guys were talking like you are each other's equal and the tone that your voice carried was indeed respectful but it seemed like it's the respect you show to a worthy opponent." 

Autumn: "Now that would be over stretching things a bit too far Sonia san. I don't consider myself Leon's match. He is the monarch whereas I have not even gotten my Trainer's license." 

Sonia: "I don't think so the way that Leon spoke after you mentioned winning the competition was like he was confident in you winning." 

Autumn: "Sonia although I am confident in winning but just as Leon san had said future is unpredictable." 

Sonia gave Autumn a look before shrugging it off. What Autumn had said was right maybe she was exaggerating things. Professor Magnolia, on the other hand, was a little spectacle about Autumn's way of speaking. She felt like the entire time of the conversation it felt like Autumn was the one in control. He easily made her granddaughter believe what he said. She knew how stubborn her granddaughter can be sometimes but she also later shrugged it off. Maybe it was one of the perks of being a member of the Oak's family. The Oak family was quite famous in the entire world after all. It was full of monsters and geniuses.
