Chapter 10: Dynamax Band

Autumn entered the lab and the first thing that greeted him was some technical lab equipment along with bookshelves with a lot of books. Autumn also noticed 3 pokéballs inside the safe keep He thought that those might be the Galar Region Starters. 

Magnolia: "So what do you think?" 

Autumn: "It's very nice Professor Magnolia." 

Magnolia: "Settle down for now and wait a minute, I will prepare some tea." 

Autumn sat down on a nearby couch and began talking to Sonia. Autumn wanted to know more about Gigantamax and Dynamax so he asked her a bunch of questions. Sonia also answered the questions asked by Autumn and also gave some small details to note about Dynamax and Gigantamax. It was something that didn't exist in his former world. Seeing how enthusiastic Autumn was to learn something she also gave some tips and advice to him, this also deepened their understanding of each other and they quickly became friends. 

Autumn: "Thank You very much Sonia san your tips and advice were helpful it helped me a lot." 

Sonia: "Don't mention it Autumn but I have to say you are a bright kid. I expect great things from you in the future." 

Autumn: "Of course, Oh is there anything that is required for Dynamax or Gigantamax. Although I now know that its origins are deeply connected to this region's history and its process along with its capabilities and limitations. I still don't know if there are any pre-requirements. Does it need like a specific level or an item?" 

Sonia: "Well you see -" 

Magnolia: "You will need a Dynamax band, to be able to perform Dynamax." 

Autumn looked toward Professor Magnolia who was carrying a tea tray. 

Autumn: "Dynamax band, huh?" 

Magnolia: "Indeed it's a special band-like item which you put around your wrist and it's the item which allows your pokemon to Dynamax or Gigantamax." 

Autumn: "Will it be possible for me to see it." 

Magnolia: "Of course, I have one here." 

Magnolia proceeds to take out a white colour wristband with red and blue highlights and hands it over to Autumn. Autumn then carefully tries to examine it. While doing so he also takes out Torchic to see it. 

Autumn: "Look here Torchic this is a Dynamax band which trainers use to Dynamax or Gigantamax during battle." 

"Torchic" 

Torchic also curiously eyed the white band. He was also quite curious about seeing new things. Torchic along with Autumn examined it visually for the time being. Suddenly Autumn had a thought in his mind. 

Autumn: 'What will happen if I use my mind's eye.' 

As soon as that thought came into his mind he activated his ability and soon enough a sequence of information was displayed in front of his eyes. 

Item: Dynamax band 

Description: A special wrist band which can allow a trainer's pokemon to Dynamax or Gigantamax in power spots. 

Autumn: 'Amazing it seems that these eyes can also appraise items, This will be helpful in the future.'

Magnolia: "By the way Autumn" 

Autumn: "Yes?" 

Magnolia: "Your Torchic seems a little different than a normal Torchic. It's even different than its shiny variant." 

Sonia: "Yes but that makes it look quite good on him." 

Autumn just chuckled a little. He handed over the Dynamax band back to Magnolia and picked up Torchic in his arms. 

Autumn: "Well even Gramps and I don't know exactly what is the reason why my Torchic has a different colour but it doesn't matter to me. Torchic is my first Pokemon, he is my partner and that's all I need to know and nothing will change that fact." 

Autumn: 'I am sorry that I have to lie, Professor, Sonia san. If the secret about Torchic is known then it may lead to a bunch of problems in the future. The main reason why I am trying to become a  professor is that I want to introduce Aura to this world. This may be a risky move but one day I might have to utilise the power of Aura in public and at that time it will be great if I have a backup to rely on.' 

(A/N: I did hint at this a little in the prologue during his talk with Arceus that our MC will bring a change slowly to the pokemon world because he will not be living a secluded lifestyle.) 

Autumn knows how risky it is to introduce Aura to the general public in this world and also the changes it might bring. He first needs to have a strong identity and become a Professor who researches in Aura, it will help him greatly. 

By his understanding of this world so far the existence of Aura users or Aura guardians which they call in this world is very low. They exist and are still considered a part of the general public but they live a secluded lifestyle. What Autumn needs to do first is determine whether he can introduce Aura to the General public but that's something for the future. It can also cause the appearance of Aura masters to be more common but the people will also need to set up more powerful rules and regulations. 

Autumn: 'I will introduce it if it's necessary for this world's development. It might even bring forth a new era of pokemon trainers as well. After all, sometimes a change should be brought for people to advance and of course, every change has its pros and cons. People just need to be able to differentiate between right and wrong.' 

Autumn: " I am still trying to find out what is the reason behind this so I am hoping to also become a professor to find out the root cause of it." 

Autumn said while petting Torchic in his hands. Magnolia and Sonia also exchanged a knowing glance before nodding their heads. 

Magnolia: "You two seem to have a really good bond with each other." 

Autumn: "Yes by the way will it be okay for me to go to the place where the pokemons are kept in the lab, I am curious about the different pokemons of this region." 

Magnolia: "Yes no problem. They are on the backside you can check them out after you settle your things down. You will be staying here for some time so you can also go visit some cities while you are at it." 

Autumn: "Thank you" 

Autumn was grateful to professor Magnolia for letting him visit other cities during his stay at Galar. He then picked up his Tea and start sipping it. While he was enjoying his Tea the door to the lab suddenly opened up and a tall figure walked in. Autumn looked over and almost spit out his Tea. 

The tall figure was a man, with long, purple hair and amber eyes. He wore a baseball cap tilted upwards to show off the crown design on the brim, a red fur-lined cape that has logos of sponsors on the back, and a black striped shirt that has a sword and shield on it. He also wore white shorts with white tights underneath with a black and gold diamond pattern down the side. 

It was Leon, The champion of the Galar region and the undefeated monarch. To be honest Autumn also held respect for the man who was in front of him. He was also impressed by the stories of how Leon was undefeated even as a trainer and became a champion on the first try. 

Leon: "Oh an unfamiliar face."
