Chapter 13: Ancient Murals

Autumn: "I will be going." 

Magnolia: " Be careful on the way and don't get lost." 

Autumn: "Don't worry I will be careful Professor." 

Sonia: " Be sure to contact us after you get there." 

Autumn: "Will do." 

Autumn was about to depart and was about to head towards Glimwood Tangle because it was the only way to get to Ballonlea city via land. Autumn had packed up some necessities he would need on this short journey. It was mainly an extra set of clothing, a huge bottle of water and a few dry rations. He also had the GPS that Magnolia gave him. He was all set to go. 

Autumn soon departed towards the nearby Train Station he thought that taking a train to Stow-on-Side city and made his way towards the Glimwood Tangle. He left after once again checking everything. Autumn bid goodbye to Magnolia and Sonia one last time. 

Autumn: 'Okay let's see should I run or save my energy for the time being. Hmm since I only have today and tomorrow I guess I better make the best out of it so I guess I will run. Oh, maybe I should also let Torchic out.' 

Autumn then lets Torchic out and puts him on his shoulder. 

Autumn: "Okay buddy we are about to visit some interesting places. Are you ready to go?" 

"Torchic Tor" 

Torchic replied in an enthusiastic way Autumn nodded understanding what the little guy was saying and stretched his body a little. 

Autumn: "Hold on tight." 

Autumn sprinted forward with incredible momentum, The passerby were all in awe because what they could see was a young boy running with incredible speed. They also saw a white figure on his shoulder but couldn't figure out what it was. 

"Torchic" 

Torchic was happily crying out. He was enjoying the current moment. Autumn also was having fun it has been a long time since he had run this freely in a wide area. He also looked over Torchic from time to time to ensure it doesn't fall off his shoulder but it looked like Torchic was sticking to his shoulder like a magnet. Torchic talons were something else. 

Autumn: ' Oh, I can see the station, I think I should slow down. I don't want to bump into someone.' 

Autumn then slowly decreased his speed and was now walking towards the crowd. He also had already booked a ticket for today. He was quite lucky to have booked a ticket. The doors soon opened and Autumn soon made his way towards a more secluded area of the train. After some time the train doors closed and it was now headed towards the Stow-on-Side city. 

On the way, Autumn decided to use a video recorder he had brought to get some videos of the Galar region. This might be of some help or he can just give this to Oak. He also saw some pokemon native to this region and Torchic beside him was also looking outside with interest. Torchic had grown up quite a bit and Autumn had also trained his Torchic because Torchic also wished to be strong as its trainer.

Currently, Torchic had become a lot more powerful than when he was born and had a good set of move sets. Autumn was also pleased with the movesets. He had decided to teach Torchic secretly because he knew that his mother wouldn't allow him to train his Pokemon unless he gets his pokemon license. He secretly trained Torchic and taught him moves like Shadow Claw and Endure and he learned flamethrower after practising embers every day. All the moves were quite useful if used in the right situation. 

The train also was about to reach Lateral Town. Autumn also put down his video recorder and packed his things up. He also called back Torchic in its Pokeball. The train soon arrived at Lateral Town and Autumn also exited the train as soon as the doors opened. He was thinking of going directly to Glimwood Tangle but decided to stop by this city since he is already here. 

The first thing that greeted Autumn after he exited the train station was the lively atmosphere. People with busy with their mundane life and Autumn liked the atmosphere. The town also had different paths which led to different areas. The upper, northern part of the Lateral Town consists of a Y-shaped intersection of paths. The Stow-on-Side Stadium sits at the intersection; the western path, up the stairs, leads to the ancient mural; and the eastern path leads to Glimwood Tangle. The lower, southern part of Lateral Town consists of a wide market area that houses the bargain shop, valuable item buyer's stall, and a Pokémon Center. 

Autumn: 'The ancient murals sound like a good spot to check out. Maybe I should go there but first, let's grab some lunch.' 

Autumn asked the locals where's a good place that sells good food. The locals told him to go to food stalls because that's where most of the people go to eat. After all, the foods they sell in the stalls were quite good. Autumn thanked the person who told him that. 

Autumn soon found himself where the food stalls were located. He went through each stall and grabbed whatever he like. He also let Torchic try some of this food. It was to better understand what foods his Torchic likes. 

Autumn: 'These stall foods are quite pretty good. Maybe I should buy some more.' 

Autumn ended up buying some more and then he headed towards the location where the ancient murals were located. The ancient murals were located at the northernmost point of the town, up to two flights of stairs, a colourful recreation of an ancient mural covers a large stone wall. Autumn was now observing these murals with great interest but he felt something off. He felt like the stone wall was hiding something. He made his way up close to the stone wall and knocked on them a few times. 

Autumn: 'As I thought this stone wall is hiding something behind it.' 

Autumn didn't know what to do with this piece of information though. He could tell the Town people about it but that may get a negative response because this place is quite a valuable historical landmark. Autumn ultimately decided to leave it as it is for now. He turned back to return but bumped into someone.

??: "Hey watch it." 

Autumn: "Oh, sorry for that." 

??: "You better be." 

Autumn raised a brow to this but didn't think of it as anything. He looked at the figure he bumped into the figure was quite small compared to him. Autumn was quite tall for his age after all. 

The person he bumped into had a curly head of platinum blond hair and purple eyes that are heavily lashed. He wore a magenta and violet T-shirt and black shorts and a golden wristwatch. Autumn thought maybe this kid is the child of some rich family. Although what Autumn wore was also decent he didn't wear any expensive accessories. He only wore a unique earring on his left ear as an accessory but it was not something expensive.

Autumn was about to leave but the person he bumped into called him again. 

??: "Wait." 

But Autumn didn't listen and continued walking he didn't know the person and this was their first time meeting. He also didn't like the kid because of his rude and arrogant behaviour. 

??: "I told you to wait didn't I." 

Autumn sighs and turned his head around to ask. 

Autumn: "What's the matter?" 

Autumn said in an annoyed tone. He just wanted to visit some tourist attractions and be on his way to Glimwood Tangle so that he can reach Ballonlea Town. 

??: "Do you know about the competition that is going to be held in 3 days." 

Autumn: "Yes, what of it?" 

??: "Hmm, Are you competing in it?" 

Autumn: "Yeah and judging by the way you are speaking you are also competing." 

??: " Ohh why do you say so?" 

Autumn: "You made it too obvious for even a mankey to be able to understand that you will be competing furthermore you didn't even try to hide it." 

??: " Huh you are not that dumb maybe you can finish in 2nd place?" 

Autumn: 'Is this guy serious. If you think this is enough to make me go into a frenzy then you are wasting my time. But since you want to get your ass kicked don't blame me.' 

Autumn then closed the distance between them before slapping the kid on the face, though he controlled his strength before slapping him on the face. It took a good few seconds for the kid to understand what just happened. He put one of his hands on the cheek which was now red. 

??: "You how dare you hit me" 

Autumn: "If you don't want to get your other cheek to be hit listen here, kid." 

Autumn said in a cold voice which scared the kid in front of him. The kid took a step back and glared at Autumn. 

Autumn: "The ones who are competing in this tournament are geniuses, not your average normal kids. Every one of them is a strong, talented individual and remember the one who is the most monstrous among these individuals is me." 

??: "..." 

Autumn thought that this was enough and left the scene. After a while, the kid spoke again. 

Bede: " '????????????????' remember that's my name and I will be the overall winner of this competition." 

Autumn: "Yea, you may become the 2nd overall winner. My name is Autumn pray that you will not have to directly face me." 

Autumn said in a bored tone before leaving while Bede just throw a small tantrum at the disrespect he was getting. He swore that if he and Autumn had to face off he will crush him.
