Chapter 8: Competition

Somewhere in the woods, Autumn was sitting in a cross-legged position on top of a rock by the river in a secluded area in the ranch and a top of his head Torchic was there sleeping. As for Autumn, he was currently naked on the top showing his muscular build which was not that much apparent at first glance but was still there and was wearing shorts below. Autumn was breathing rhythmically with his Aura sometimes reaching a high point and sometimes dropping down to a bare minimum point like a pendulum. 

Autumn: 'Today is finally the day that I will break through 'The body training stage' and move to 'The Aura Gathering Stage'. It's been 8 months since Torchic was born and now I also have good coordination and can do basic to intermediate levels of manoeuvres.' 

Autumn recalled what he had done until now. His mind was clear and now was the best time for him to try to surpass his previous limit. 

Autumn: 'Oh boy the coming years will be painful.' 

Autumn sweatdropped a bit because the next stage will give quite a bad experience to The Aura Practitioners. It requires one to familiarise themselves with Aura by absorbing the ambient Aura from the surroundings and the way that it worked was like a grinding stone. 

What happens in this next stage is that The practitioner uses Aura to grind out impurities from the body by cycling the raw Aura of nature in the body. This process continues until the body can fully circulate Aura without any blockage. 

Autumn: 'Well no pain, no gain.' 

Autumn relaxed his body which let the pores on his body loosen up and open a bit more and after some time some popping noises were coming from Autumn's body. He had successfully broken through. The surrounding Aura noticing Autumn's action also started to enter his body and started to go wild. 

Autumn: 'Grr' "I just broke through and the Auras are already going wild not good." 

Autumn used his Aura and started to gather them at one point and after gathering them all in a single point. He started to guide them through different pressure points of the body encompassing the whole body by circulating them and after about 15 minutes he finished the first cycle. 

Autumn: 'What I have to do now is to cycle this Aura until it reaches the maximum speed my body could handle for now.' 

It's pretty much impossible to control the passive circulation and even if you manage to actively control it. It would take a lot of time to even finish one cycle. Also, you have to start very slow otherwise if you go too fast it might cause internal injuries. 

Autumn had started slow and slowly increase the speed of the circulation after every cycle. After 9 hours Autumn stopped circulating or stop guiding the flow of Aura. After guiding the surrounding Aura 270 times the cycle had reached an equilibrium uniform motion that his body could handle. 

Autumn: *Phew 'That's done finally, I managed to break through now-' 

"Torchic" 

Before Autumn could move to the next step. Torchic called out, Autumn looked at him and found out that now Torchic was far away from Autumn. Torchic also seemed to have a disgusted expression. Autumn knew very well what was the problem. It was the black oozing liquid that was coming out from the pores of his body. These were just the impurities that his body expelled when circulating Aura. 

Autumn: "I know I smell like rotting flesh right now but can you not look at me with that kind of expression." 

Autumn said before he stand up and jumped into the river to take a bath. After cleaning himself up he checked the time and immediately grabbed Torchic and made his way towards the main lab... 

In the lab 

Oak: "So, where have you been young man?" 

Autumn: "Umm, I was checking some pokemon near the riverside and got distracted while observing them for a long time." 

Oak: "Ohh and what have you observed." 

Autumn: " Here" 

Autumn handed a research report to Oak. To be honest it mostly contained the same things written in the data which were stored in the lab but there were a few corrections on the written pages. Oak go through each of them and found them to be true. He gave one look at them each and compared them with the data stored in the lab and found the one that Autumn had written to be correct than the ones at the lab. He was honestly shocked as well as impressed. He looked at Autumn before asking. 

Oak: "Did you write this by yourself?" 

Autumn: "Yes, I was a little sceptical about some data about pokemons who live near water sources. So, I decided to check them and deduce what is wrong and what is right." 

Oak: "Well your deduction capabilities are impressive but still you couldn't just disappear like that while working here. Do you know how worried I was?" 

Autumn: "Sorry Gramps I will be more careful next time." 

Oak: *Haiz "Well at least you are alright so I will let this one slide."

Autumn: *Phew 'Yes It worked.' 

Truth be told Autumn had already prepared this file a few days ago. He knew that he is about to break through and didn't want to be seen while doing so. He decided to do it on the ranch and if things go south he had prepared that file as the last safety measure if he spent too much time. 

Oak: "Oh by the way?" 

Autumn: "Y-Yes" 

Autumn was a little startled by Oak's sudden calling. 

Oak: "Do you don't want to take part in my Pokemon summer camp?" 

Autumn: " Umm you see gramps-" 

Oak: "I know it's the competition isn't it?" 

Autumn: "Yes" 

Oak: "It's quite a pity that it's not being held in the Kanto Region this time around." 

Autumn: "Gramps I-" 

Oak: "Okay stop right there." 

Oak said as he put his palm forward motioning Autumn to stop. Oak then looked at Autumn in the eyes before saying. 

Oak: "If you have made your choice going to participate in this contest then, promise me that you will win." 

Autumn was a little surprised that his Gramps let him go but then he smirked and said. 

Autumn: "I will" 

Oak looked at the resolve in Autumn's eyes before nodding. 

Later in the evening... 

Ash: "What? Autumn nii you are not going to attend the Pokemon summer camp." 

Autumn: "As much as I would like to I want to want to win this competition." 

Gary: " Oi Ash don't bother Autumn nii at this. He had been preparing for this competition for quite a while now." 

Ash: "Aww man." 

Autumn: "Don't worry it's not like I will be gone for too long I will be back within two weeks." 

Ash: "Well I guess there is nothing we can do about it." 

Gary: "Oh by the way Autumn nii. Which region will you be going to?" 

Ash: "Yeah what region is it?"

Autumn: "I will be going to -"
