Chapter 9: Road Trip

*Ding *Ding 

Announcement: [Ladies and gentlemen, flight K45 is about to land. We ask you to please stay calm and please have your airline pass and identification ready. After landing you can collect your luggage after a brief security check, Thank You.] 

*People noises 

Autumn looked outside the window to see a completely new region. Although he had seen some places from Galar on Television. This still impressed him, he was also a little excited because other than the competition he also wanted to know about the phenomenon that this region is known for.

Autumn: 'Finally I am here in the Galar Region, I better also get prepared for the upcoming days.' 

Autumn stretched his body a bit with some crisp popping sound. He had been preparing for the competition by studying all night and was tired luckily he knew that the competition will take place after 4 days so he had enough time to rest. 

Airport voice: [Welcome, The Galar lines welcome the passengers from the flight K45. please don't forget to get your luggage and enjoy your stay at Galar.] 

Autumn: 'Hmm where is it, oh there it is.' 

Autumn found his luggage and quickly made his way toward the airport terminal. Oak told him that someone will pick him up there. Autumn looked over and soon enough found a woman holding the board with his name written on it. 

Autumn made his way towards her and at a closer look. She looked quite beautiful she had a fair skin complexion, ginger hair in a large ponytail, and turquoise eyes. She wears a tan-coloured trench coat with four buttons, a teal blouse, and light blue skinny jeans. She also wore some accessories, which elevated her appearance and overall she looked quite fashionable. 

Autumn: "Umm hello miss." 

Sonia: "Oh hello there, Autumn I presume." 

Autumn: "Yes and you might be Professor Magnolia's granddaughter Sonia right?" 

Sonia: "That's me." 

Autumn and Sonia exchange a brief handshake while introducing themselves. 

Sonia: "So ready to go?" 

Autumn: "Yes, I will be in your care. Oh and also I would like you to meet someone " 

Autumn brought up a Pokeball which belonged to Torchic and called him out. 

"Torchic" 

Torchic came out of its ball and looked around curiously he haven't seen this many people at once so he was quite curious about where are they.

Autumn: " Sonia san meet my partn-" 

Before Autumn could finish saying. Sonia rushed towards Torchic and picked it up. 

Sonia: "Oh my Arceus, Who is this cutie pie and its colour it's so nice." 

Sonia rubbed her cheeks with Torchic and there were stars in her eyes but Torchic was now feeling a little bit awkward when suddenly getting picked by a stranger and was about to attack but luckily Autumn intervened before things go south.

Autumn: "Uhh Sonia san can you please not do that. You see Torchic is feeling a bit awkward." 

Sonia stopped what she was doing and looked at Torchic noticing it was feeling awkward she stopped a bit embarrassed and gently put Torchic on the ground. Torchic quickly made his way towards Autumn and climbed on his shoulder.

Sonia: "Oh my apologies." 

Autumn: "No worries Torchic is a bit shy the first time meeting someone new. Now should we get going?"

Sonia: "Yes follow me."

They soon exited the Airport Terminal and made their way toward the Parking Lot, where Sonia had offered Autumn to carry his luggage but Autumn said that it was alright. They soon got to where her car was. It was a pink colour mini car and looked alright so, Autumn put his luggage in the trunk of the car and they departed from the Airport.

Wedgehurst Town...

In the southeast direction 

An elderly figure was wai was standing outside a lab. She had green eyes and brown hair, she wears a yellow dress with long sleeves under a white lab coat, beige ballet flats a purple necklace and glasses. After sometimes she saw a pink mini-car coming toward the lab but the way that the car was moving was interesting, to say the least. 

Magnolia: *Sigh "Oh dear" 

The car stopped and Sonia exited the car to greet her grandma. Whereas Autumn took his time and after opening the door Autumn looked a shaken which caused him to almost trip over.

Sonia: "We have arrived" 

Magnolia: "Welcome to my lab. Autumn, I presume." 

Autumn:" Yes" *Inhale "That's me. Nice to meet you, Professor Magnolia." 

Autumn gave a curt bow to show his respect. 

Magnolia: "Oh no need to be so polite. Let me introduce myself again, I am Professor  Magnolia and I am also the one who gives the new trainers their starter in the Galar Region." 

Autumn: "I have heard of you Professor. It's an honour to meet you in person, I was intrigued by your research on the strange phenomenon of Dynamax and Gigantamax. It was really interesting to read." 

Magnolia: "Ohohoho, Well thank you. I was surprised when Oak said that he would be sending his genius Grandson to this competition. So, it's you who will be competing." 

Autumn: "Yes I will be in your care until then." 

Magnolia: "Naturally, I hope that your journey was smooth." 

Sonia flinched a bit whereas Autumn gave the car and Sonia a glance.

Autumn: 'Pretty sure that car has a horse engine instead of an engine with horsepower and I am sure that Sonia san is not good at driving. It felt like the inside of the car was in zero gravity even with the seatbelts on.' 

Autumn: "Let's just say that it was interesting. How about we leave it at that?" 

Magnolia nods while Sonia just heaves a sigh of relief before thanking Autumn in her mind. Magnolia invites them inside the lab and both follow the elderly woman inside not before taking out the luggage.
