The Sparrows walk along the dock and they spot the Interceptor docked.

Jack turns to Jill. "Alright, let me do the talk, eh?"

"What?" Jill questions as she turns to Jack. "Why?"

Jack holds up two fingers. "How many fingers am I holding up?"

Jill squints her eyes. "Three. No! Four! Wait, six? Did you grow an extra finger?"

"You're much to dunk."

Jill waves her hand. "Ba! I'm always drunk. I'm just slightly more than usual."

"Just let me do the talking, Savy?" Jack questions.

Jill sways a little. "Okay." Jill takes her flask out and jiggles it. "Ah. It's empty."

Jack smirks. "Let's just go."

"Right."

The two Sparrows walk along the dock and towards the Interceptor. Two sailors on sentry duty, MURTOGG and MULLROY, take advantage of what little shade there is on the dock. But when Jack and Jill saunters up, they are immediately on alert and walk in front of the twins, stopping them.

"This dock is off-limits to civilians." Murtogg says to the Sparrows.

"I'm sorry. We didn't know." Jack says to the soldiers. "If we see one, we shall inform you immediately."

The Sparrows try to walk onto the ship but Murtogg and Mullroy block their path again.

"There's some high-toned and fancy to-do at the fort, eh?" Jack asks. "How could it be that two upstanding gentlemen such as yourselves did not merit an invitation?"

"Someone has to make sure this dock stays off-limits to civilians." Murtogg says.

"It's a fine goal, to be sure," Jack starts as the Sparrows move a little down the dock, with the soldiers still blocking their path. "But it seems to me a ship like that." Jack indicates the Dauntless. "makes this one here a bit superfluous, really."

"The Dauntless is the power in these waters," Jill chuckles at that and Murtogg continues. "true enough, but there's no ship that can match the Interceptor for speed."

Jill finally speaks up. "That so? I've heard of one. It's supposed to be fast, nigh uncatachable... The Black Pearl."

Mullroy scoffs at the name. "There's no real ship that can match the Interceptor."

Murtogg looks at Mullroy. "Black Pearl is a real ship."

"No. No, it's not."

"Yes, it is. I've seen it."

"You've seen it?" Mullroy asks Murtogg.

"Yes."

Jill and Jack look to each other.

"You haven't seen it." Mullroy says to Murtogg.

"Yes, I have!" Murtogg says.

"You've seen a ship with black sails that's crewed by the damned and captained by a man so evil that hell itself spat him back out?"

"...No."

"No." Mullroy looks at the Sparrows and they just smile at him.

"But I have seen a ship with black sails." Murtogg says.

"Oh. And no ships that's not crewed by the damned." Jill and Jack walk away and onto the ship as Mullroy is talking to Murtogg. "And captained by a man so evil that hell spat him back out, could possibly have black sails, therefore couldn't be any other ship than the Black Pearl. Is that what you're saying?"

Murtogg smiles and nods. "No."

"Like I said there's no real ship that can match the Interceptor for speed. It's like saying the White Pearl is real."

The two soldiers turn to where Jack and Jill were standing, only to not see them. They look at the Interceptor and see Jack standing at the wheel of the Interceptor, casually examining the mechanism.

Jill is looking straight down the barrel of her engraved pistol as she stands next to Jack.

"Hey! You two!" Mullroy yells.

Mullroy and Murtogg run onto the ship and point their muskets at the Sparrow twins. Jill puts her flintlock away.

"Get away from there!" Mullroy orders. "You two don't have permission to be aboard there, mates."

"I'm sorry." Jack apologies. "It's just such a pretty boat. Ship."

"Very, very pretty." Jill says.

Murtogg and Mullroy study the two suspiciously.

"What's your names?" Murtogg asks.

"Smith." Jack and Jill say.

"Or Smithy, if you like." Jack finishes.

"What's your purpose in Port Royal, 'Mr. and Miss Smith'?" Mullroy asks.

"And no lies!" Murtogg says.

Jill puts a hand on Jack's arm and takes a few steps forward. "None? Very well. You've rumbled me. We confess: We intend to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, and go out on the account, do a little honest pirating."

Jack nods at Jill's explanation.

"I said no lies!" Murtogg says.

"I think she's telling the truth." Mullroy says to Murtogg.

"If she were telling the truth, she wouldn't have told us."

"Unless she knew you wouldn't believe the truth, even if she told it to you." Jill says.

Murtogg and Mullroy consider that points.
