It was a sunny day. Mixia wanted to have fun outside in the sunshine. The plum trees were bearing ripe fruits and a bunch of the palace workers were out to collect its babies. Mixia wanted to go too. But Mr. Hedford, Little Mixia’s butler, refused such request.

“Mr. Hedford”

“Highness Mixia.”

“Highness Mixia wants to go outside”

“But as I’ve iterated, that is not to be so, Highness Mixia.”

Mixia puffed her angry cheeks.

“I am the royal princess!”

Now it seems the Little Highness have learned how to use childish force to get her way, Mr. Hedford sighed in his mind.

“Highness Mixia, would you like to do another puzzle instead today? A new cake design arrived just this morning, it contains a thousand pieces.”

Mixia almost nodded her head to say yes but Mixia was not to be swayed!

“N-NO! NO! MIXIA WANTS PLUM BABIES!”

Hearing the commotion, the etiquette teacher who was in the same room turned to Mr. Hedford.

“Butler Hedford, why not grant the Little Highness’ wishes just this time? It is indeed a fine day outside, the wind is picking up the roses’ scent. A good breeze will do her good.” Lady Agner smiled good-naturedly at the staunch man.

“Yes! Mixia needs breeze! Whoooo.” As the Little Highness uncouthly continued imitating the wind, Mr. Hedford had reluctance written across his face. But then he sighed.

“An hour only and not an hour more. Go to the garden and return five minutes before your history classes start.” Mr. Hedford laid down the schedule he was holding. “Understood, Highness Mixia?”

“Understood!” Mixia yelled happily, her little feet already taking her outside the door and into the sunlit hallways.

“Such a stubborn child.” Mr. Hedford muttered once the echoes faded away.

But Lady Agner smiled gently, “It is good to be stubborn. Having something to believe in so determinedly is an admirable trait.”

“Not so when you’re seven.” Mr. Hedford chuckled.

With a laugh in her voice, Lady Agner had to agree.
