Chapter 5: CHAPTER 5

[Nyra’s POV]

I woke up, but I kept my eyes closed. I wanted to enjoy the silence as long as I could before my alarm would go off, and I’d have to go to work once more. ‘How late even is it?’ I asked myself and reached out for my phone.

‘… Ah shit, where did I put that damn thing?’ I opened my eyes and sat up. ‘What in god’s holy ass…’ I looked around the room I was in. it was double the size of my bedroom, and the furniture was almost completely made out of wood.

The room was decorated really girlish. I preferred plain white or straight up just black, so this definitely wasn’t my room. “Hello!?” If I were kidnapped by somebody, I would at least like to know, but not a single word came out of my mouth.

‘What...?’ I put my hand up to my throat and started humming, but noting. It was like I didn’t even have vocal cords. I just felt a light airflow through my nose.

I slowly started to panic. I just woke up in a strange room and had no way of communicating with someone, not even my phone was here. ‘But kidnappers wouldn’t have given me this kind of room?’ I looked around the princess like room once more.

I got out of bed and inspected the furniture. They all looked like they were made by a master craftsman. The decorations were really delicate. ‘This stuff looks like it would cost a fortune…’ I thought. Opposite to the bed I woke up was a dressing table with a giant mirror.

‘I hope they…’ as walked in front of the mirror, I looked straight in the eyes of 10-year-old girl with black hair and silver eyes. Her skin was so pale, like she never saw the sun once in her life.

‘What? Who? How?’ I had so many questions. I gulped as some very unlikely and unrealistic scenarios entered my mind. I never believed in stuff like being reborn but on the other hand I always said: “If you can prove me otherwise, I’ll be happy to believe you”

And something like that just seemed to have happened. I turned to the big wooden door as it opened and a girl wearing a maid costume entered. She looked at me and then at the empty bed.

She came closer and closer until our noses were practically touching. We didn’t break eye contact as she poked my left cheek with her finger. I could hear her mumble. “Oh my god, she is real!” She turned around and sprinted out of the room.

“She has woken up!” She screamed so loud that even the deaf people in this house would’ve woken up. I ignored what just happened and turned back to the mirror. The girl was still standing there, staring me straight in the eyes.

‘But… I never wished for a new family or something similar. Why did this happen? I was completely healthy yesterday!’ I already accepted that I wasn’t myself anymore and that I probably landed somewhere I didn’t belong.

I turned around and looked at the door. ‘If I am really in another world… than does that meat that…’ the door was pushed open and five people came in. A doctor, a man, and a woman and two maids. As soon as the man with the red hair entered the room a fire in the chimney lit up out of nowhere and in the blink of an eye I was covered with a blanket and sat on the sofa in front of the chimney while the doctor examined me. ‘There is magic?’ I finished my thought, which was already proven right.
