In a spacious room, there was no dust to be seen. The floor was shining, and everything was neat and orderly. The moonlight fell from the window making the wooden floorboard look like it was made of silver. The potted plants beside the front door had bright green leaves and deep indigo blossoms, which strangely didn't feel out of place with the clean white walls and the shadows.

The door opened, and in walked a woman. Her face was happy and smiling as she removed her blazer and hung it on the coat rack. She placed a briefcase along with her phone on the coffee table. She waved to someone before closing the front door. The woman pressed a switch to open the lights.

Knowing she was finally alone, the woman's smile dropped. The happy atmosphere seemed to have never appeared in the first place. The room's temperature had also dropped by several degrees.

The woman walked along the hallway before heading upstairs. Along touching a spot on the railing, she frowned and wiped her hand on a handkerchief before hurrying upstairs. On the second floor, she opened a door that revealed a bedroom connected to an office and a bathroom.

She first strode to the office and placed a tall stack of papers with pictures of clients and their information down on the desk. After spending 30 minutes inputting all the data into the computer and categorizing all the cases, she could finally relax. She looked at the timer and saw that it was 7:30.

The woman walked into the bathroom to remove her makeup. The woman had velvety skin that was pale white and silky hair that was dark as midnight. However, the most notable was the dark circles under her eyes. Anyone could tell she was incredibly tired.

The woman placed eye patches and applied a clay mask to her face. After 15 minutes, she took them off and the dark bags had mostly disappeared. Her skin also seemed to have a faint glow.

A/n: Look, her skincare is basically what I try to manifest, okay?

She walked back into her bedroom and opened the curtains, allowing the moonlight to spill on the entire room. If there was anyone else here, they would doubt whether this person was truly a mortal, as the woman seemed like a celestial or a fairy.

___________

Jin Mingyue has had a seriously long day. She had a really nice young sister as her first client this morning, however, her second client was a lot more complicated than most of her VIPs. It was some big celebrity under a huge scandal and the lawsuit was quite difficult to handle. Luckily, the offered pay was good, but the trial at court had really taken up all her energy.

She had to pay off over a dozen private investigators. If it weren't for the 10 million and pay, she would seriously not agree to be the celebrity's lawyer.

She was absolutely exhausted. Mingyue was sure that if she went to her bed, she would sleep as soon as she hit the pillow. However-

RRIIIINNNGG!!!

A phone ringtone sounded from downstairs.

Mingyue hurried downstairs and picked up the phone.

"Hey, Mingyue, can you do me one small favor?" A pleading and helpless tone came out of the phone and a man's face showed on the phone.

Mingyue chuckled and looked as though she had expected this. " Do you want me to look after Daiyu again? You know I won't reject you since you're my brother. By the way, are you working overtime once more? Xuehui, you know you don't have to push yourself in that project of yours."

Jin Xuehui blushed in embarrassment, " You know I have to finish this project soon. Daiyu is really excited to see you. Take care of yourself, too. I know it's not easy managing a law firm."

Mingyue smiled at the screen, " Alright, I won't disturb you anymore. I'll be awaiting Daiyu. Good luck with your project. Good-bye!"

"Bye!"

__________

After waiting for 15 minutes, the doorbell rang. Mingyue rose from the couch to open the front door. In front of the door was a girl with double pigtails holding a stuffed polar bear and wearing a pink bunny dress.

She went over to hug Mingyue's leg before crying," Auntie!"

Jin Daiyu was an adorable 6-year-old girl, so she was very chatty.

" Today in kindergarten, I read a book about tigers!"

Mingyue was very patient with the little girl, so she listened carefully to everything the girl said. she led Daiyu to the personalized guest room filled with stuffed animals and children's books. It should be noted that the child was here way too often.

She had the child walk to the bathroom connected and had Daiyu stand on a stool to brush her teeth. Mingyue allowed Daiyu to soak in the bubble bath for 10 minutes before putting her to bed.

As the girl changed into bunny pajamas and lay in the bed to rest, Mingyue closed off the lights before whispering a "Good night!" to the girl.

When she went back to her own room, Mingyue collapsed onto the bed and let sleep overtake her, but not before hearing a sound.
