Chapter 6: Potential Crewmates

Grim Island.

Beside the crowded pier, Ace and Nami could be seen, inspecting the surrounding in wonder.

The road and streets were well maintained.

A large number of pedestrians with different occupations such as merchants, nobles, bounty hunters, pirates and even some 'disguised marines' could be seen everywhere.

The island was bubbling with festive air. Multi-colored lights were shining all over, as well as fireworks that keeps exploding once in a while.

"Nami, you didn't mention to me that this island was quite lively. Still, it's strange, such a popular island, why did I never heard about it?" 

Ace gave Nami a strange look. It's just according to Nami, this island is a desolate one.

Nami was also stupefied.

"What's wrong?" 

Ace said in doubt, after feeling her shock.

"It seems that I also fall in a misunderstanding after inquiring about the news." 

"Actually, there is one thing I didn't said before. This Grim Island was previously a desolate land, but it seems the reason for its bleakness is neither land barrenness nor unsuitable for living, rather its owner."

Ace was a little surprised.

"Owner?"

"Yes, Grim Island is the territory of the Black Cat pirates."

Ace was blinded.

'Territory? East blue pirates are so arrogant?'

Nami looked at him in confusion.

"Well, it means a bunch of people that are united because of the same interest. If at first, there is only one Kuro, now, all the store owners is his backing. Marines dare not trouble him."

Nami cried in surprise, but soon her eyes shined with luster.

Inside a restaurant, Ace was swallowing all the meat on the table.

The other customers all looked at him with different attitudes, but no one bothered him. Well, other than the hot gazes of the ladies around, everything is cool.

Although he doesn't need to eat due to the horse charm(Restore), he doesn't appreciate this function at all.

Nami already left some time ago. It seems 'Kuro and partners' treasury is in danger.

Jhonny and Yusako looked at Zoro with admiration.

Ace was speechless. He was a little embarrassed hearing this.

'Although I didn't bother training, my normal power state ( no devil fruit, no charms, no haki) is surely admiral class and may be close to Imperial level in damage level. As for defense, it's almost catching up with a poneyglyph.

Such an overpowered 'me' was actually provoked by a no-stream swordsman.

If your name wasn't Zoro, I would have slapped you to a meatloaf.'

Zoro and Ace stood across each other.

Zoro in his serious mode, wielding three swords in his famous pose, looked at Ace in anger.

"Are you despising me?"

Ace who pointed his index finger, looked towards Zoro indifferently.

"You didn't even touch the swordsman realm boundary. How could I use a sword to fight you. Actually even using a finger is already a supreme honor for you."

Hidden in the shadow, the sexy woman in red kimono, nodded her head in approval.

She could feel it. The handsome boy was so strong, terrifyingly strong.

Zoro felt his pride shattered.

His promise with his childhood sweetheart.

His determination, courage, spirit.

Everything is on the verge of collapsing.

His lack of understanding towards the true peak power of the world almost destroyed him.

He wasn't ready at all.

Remembering his high sounding speech, his face turned white.

He knelt on the ground.

'I'm not even a swordsman?'

Zoro was devastated.

"Aniki!"

"Zoro Aniki?! Impossible, right?!"

"It must be a dream, right?! It must be!"

He felt like 'Joke'.

"Well, it's quite a surprise. You actually almost bothered me to 'death', right, miss stalker?"

Ace said with a sarcastic tone, but the last part of the sentence was directed to the woman hidden in the dark.

The woman wasn't surprised by the fact that she was exposed. She generously showed herself, as she showed an apologetic expression.

"I'm sorry, I was just attracted to your conversation, and it felt interesting, so I tagged along."

Ace looked at the woman in daze.

Charming? quite charming.

Sexy? I approve.

Strong? About Vice Admiral level.

But that's not the problem.

"Pardon, I didn't introduce myself, my name is Mai, Mai Shiranui."

The sexy woman said in a smile.

'Why is she here? In this world?!'

Ace was speechless for a while.
