Chapter 8: Ussop

The warm sun spreads its light all over the azure sea.

The small ship cut throughout the tumbling waves bravely as it approached the island in sight.

The refreshing breeze of the morning was very comforting for the passengers on board.

Ace in particular was quite enjoying it.

"Mr Kyle, is this the Gecko archipelago you mentioned?"

Ace turned his head back, while casting an inquiring look towards a very gentle looking middle aged couple.

"Yes it is."

The man showed a happy smile. His face was full of gratitude, as he tightened his hug over his beautiful wife.

"Lord Ace, I am deeply thankful for your help, if it weren't for you mercy, our couple may have encountered a catastrophe."

"Kayle is right. Lord Ace, if there is anything you need, as long as it's within our capacity, we will never shy away, even if we pay a heavy price."

"Anna is right, Lord Ace, please allow us to repay the favor."

The couple bowed their head, as they expressed their gratefulness.

Nami eyes brightened.

"Mr Kayle looks like a decent gentlemen, how about hundred, nono, two hundreds, three hundreds..."

Mai behind, pulled the intoxicated Nami away, as she casted an apologetic expression towards the awkward couple.

"I'm sorry, our crewmate likes joking very much, don't mind."

The couple looked at each other, and could only laugh helplessly.

They already experienced Nami's virtue, so they weren't bothered that much.

Ace looked at the couple, while wildly guessing their identity.

Actually, it was just a whim.

When he left Grim Island, he happened to met a civilian ship being attacked by a bunch of scumbags.

He didn't bother at first, but somehow, the thought of saving them appeared in his mind in a very indescribable manner.

Subsequently, he found out that they were from the same island as Ussop.

Following this trail, he was hundred percent sure that the couple were Kaya's parents.

"Hopefully, we can aquire a decent ship. Since fate leads us to this island, let's recruit Ussop by the way."

Ace thought, as his sight was drawn towards the green grasslands that surrounded the whole island.

As the ship docked.

A deep loud sounded.

"Stoooop! You are trespassing Lord Ussop's territory!"

Along with this sonorous warning, the drum beats resonated all over the place.

Heavy footsteps came over from the surrounding bushes, as the sound of guns charging reverberated.

"Intruders, this is my Lord Ussop's brave sea warrior headquarters. If you still choose to advance, don't blame my eight million soldiers for ambushing you!"

A very long nose appeared in everyone's sight, followed by the face a brown skinned teenager.

The teenager's lower body shivered in fright, while the upper body stood arrogantly, looking down on the masses.

Three little children hide behind him, as they watched his performance with reverence, as their hands beat the drums.

His index finger pointed towards the small ship heroically, as the drum beats rythme increased in intensity, echoing with his bravery.

Ace and his company watched the teenager with amusement.

Kyle and Anna glanced at each other briefly, and they could see the embarrassment in each's eyes.

Zoro put his hand on his waist, as he caressed his sword's sheath.

"Ha, so you are 'The Legendary Brave Ussop'. I'm very much interested in your head. I wonder if you bleed? Is is red or is it green?"

Zoro's bloodthirsty tone almost scared him to pee.

"Hiiiii! I warn you! My eighty millions soldiers ain't as good tempered as me!"

"Hem? Weren't they eight before?"

Nami looked at him in surprise. She was amazed by his audacity.

"Maybe they split themselves?"

Mai said with a troubled face.

"Man, you are a terrible liar."

Ace couldn't help but add another knife.

"I'm not! The soldiers really exists!"

If it weren't for his glistening eyes that were about to start tearing, and his tall runny noise, Ace felt that he could pretend to believe.

"Ussop, stop making troubles!"

Anna glared at him with a red face. Wether embarrassment or anger, only she knew.

Kyle also looked at him with a bad look. He felt that this liar should stay much more away from his innocent lovely cute daughter.

Seems to finally recognize his parents in law, Ussop face turned white in fright.

"It's over! I messed up again!"

"Captain Ussop!"x3

Following the slope leading from the shoreline towards the village center.

Ace's party along with Ussop that shamelessly tagged along, passed by a lot of small and simple houses, met a lot of enthusiastic residents, only to stop in front of a big and luxurious mansion guarded by two butlers in black suits.

As expected by Ace, the wealthy couple were really Kaya parents.

Ensuing this, the couple warmly welcomed them into their house.

After meeting the sickly Kaya, Ace voluntary used his restoring power to heal her, which pushed the couple's gratitude to the peak.

Ussop was greatly moved by this gesture.

After a satisfying feast, Kyle brought Ace and his crew towards the back of the mansion.

Surprisingly, there was a huge working space full of wood, iron parts, tools and unfinished ship models.

There were a lot of workers that seems to be building and repairing ships.

Not far from this space, a big pier with dozens of ships docked, and a lot of strange faces that seems to be negotiating prices.

This area was quite bubbling, completely different from the other calm side of the village.

Kyle proudly led the crowd within the place, as he presented his business nature.

Not much later, a tall man with a lamb-themed appearance in a butler suit approached their entourage.

"Lord Kyle. I have already prepared what you asked me for."

The man whispered in a humble tone, as he look at Ace's party in curiosity.

"Great! Lord Ace. I already prepared a small gift for you. I hope you will like it."

"Lord Kyle. I'm pretty confident in my craft. It's is my most precious masterpiece."

The humble butler buzzed from the side. It seems he was quite confident in his shipbuilding ability, and upset due to his lord belittling his great effort.

"Led the way, Merry."

Kyle could only change the topic awkwardly.

Ace followed with interest.

He already had an idea of what's going on.
