Chapter 1: Chapter One – You Get Nothing!

If I were to describe myself, ‘basic nerdy girl who kinda works at a coffee shop’ would be it. I only kind of work there because the place belongs to my aunt, and I’m just free labor. Though I guess since I live with her you could say I get paid in room and board. 

I never hated the job. Barista is a nice gig, and people tip pretty well. It’s just hard to stomach giving up my nights and weekends for a job that doesn’t even pay me.

Of course, my aunt would tell you it pays in ‘valuable life experience’ but that crap doesn’t buy new manga. Money buys new manga.

At least she lets me keep my tips. Usually, those are enough for a few new volumes each month, so I don’t get too salty.

Actually recently I’ve been quite happy. I just found a new slice of life manga and I’ve been enjoying the hell out of it. Heck, I even read it at work, not like my aunt can say anything.

Floating in a gigantic sea of nothing was just me, and a big window that appeared similar to what I’d expect a 90s email client looked like. While I generally don’t make a habit of reading random hallucinations, I seriously didn’t have anything better to do.
