Chapter 10: Chapter Ten – Alchemist’s Liquor

I spent the rest of the week practicing my [Fire Magic] and grasping the foundations of alchemy. Unfortunately this meant we made little headway into finding coffee beans, but Otrea didn’t seem to mind.

One of the spells I learned caused a chosen surface to grow hot. Which allowed me to boil a small pot of water, no stove-top required. I figured it would be a pretty important spell once I got around to actually making espresso.

To that end I poured my heart into my alchemy books, only to struggle to grasp the most basic concept. The books kept referring to something known as ‘Alchemist’s Liquor’, and even the most basic alchemy required it. Yet no matter how hard I looked, I couldn’t find any reference to what it actually was. Or how to make it.

“Status.” I mumbled. Rubbing at my tired and agitated eyes.
