Chapter 8: Chapter 6 – Who are you?

**

Year 1975, 4th month of the Imperial Calendar marks the start of the invasion of the Pope in the kingdom of Avares rejecting any form of requests to negotiate.

"They really wants to invade us"  Vincent said.

"It seems like it your majesty" a burly old man said.

"George, make sure to evacuate the citizens I don't want them to die" he said

"I should start the preparation then, excuse me" George said while making his way out of the room.

As soon as his attendant left, Vincent plops down on his back and heave a heavy sigh. "What could the church want to even go this far?" he muttered.

*knock knock knock

'Hmm, I wonder who is it'

"Dad? are you busy" behind the door a soft and cute voice reaches his ear.

"No dear I'm not, you can enter" he answered.

The door slowly opened and revealed a child with silver hair and crimson red eyes in a white laced dress.

"Good morning Dad" Alicia walked towards him with a smile causing her father to pat her head. 

"Good morning dear, where is your mother?" he asked.

"Mom is in the dining and I came here to notify you" "Ehehehehehe" she giggles as her father picks her up and walks towards the dining.

Along the way they've met with various knights going around, this piqued Alicia's interest as to why there are many of them patrolling early in the morning.

"Dad why are there many knights?" she asked.

"Did you remember that during your birthday the Holy City announced that we are at war at them right?"

"Humm" she nodded. "Yes, I remember that"

"It's because of that we need to tighten our security to make you and your mother to be safe, especially you" he said to Alicia.

"Me?" Alicia showed a dumbfounded look which causes her father to laugh at her.

"Yes dear, it's for your safety" he said with a serious look.

"Why?" she asked.

"It's because you are the most valuable treasure of our kingdom" He said to her as they entered the dinning hall. Upon they're entry Alicia saw her mother already waiting for the two to arrive. She plops down on her father's arms and sat besides her mother.

"Good morning mother" Alicia said showing a bright smile that even the attendants attending them couldn't help but to be mesmerized.

"Good morning my dear" her mother said then she kissed her forehead.

"Sorry to keep you waiting" Vincent said. He then waved his hands signaling the attendants to bring in their meal.

"I didn't wait that long considering that I too just arrived" her mother Rosalia said while patting Alicia's head.

As they are eating their meal, George approached them with a worried face and restless demeanor.

"What is it George?" Vincent asked, he gulp a lump in his throat before telling them he report of one of the palace's messenger.

"Sir we got a huge problem, according to the report from the City of Cain, they noticed the changes of the feral beast in the edges of the Mystic Forest and they concluded that a stampede may happen"

Mystic Forest is a gigantic forest that serves as a natural defense and the border of the kingdom between the federation in the east. Due to the high level monsters that lurk deep within the forest, no one dares to cross through it except for idiots who had enough of their lives and wanted to die. Even the high ranking adventurers could not venture deep.

"We can't let that happen, send some knights to help the soldiers and adventurers to defend the city if the stampede ever happens" Vincent said

"You're right dear, we can't have our main producer of monster parts fall" Rosalia said in which he nodded in return.

"We should talk about this in the office" then he stand up and looked at Alicia. "It seems like we can't have lunch together, forgive me for that" he continued.

Alicia then shake her head in response to her father." No father, you shouldn't apologize for that, I know that you're busy so it's fine" she then give him a smile "And Marie will be teaching me today" she added.

"Well then see you two at dinner" he said and left the hall with George.

The sun is already setting when Alicia's lesson finished and now she and Marie are walking back to her room to be rest. They've met with various servants and knights along their way, naturally everyone bowed paying respect to her.

"Marie?" while they are walking Alicia called onto Marie.

"Hmm? What is it princess?" Marie asked.

"Can I go take a bath? my skin is all sticky" Alicia said.

"Of course, let me prepare the bath for you". When they reached the bathhouse Marie then entered and starts the preparation for bathing. While waiting Alicia then opened her status to see the changes.

"Whoa! that's-" she paused for a while then look around before continuing her words "really awesome"

{Really awesome indeed my dear} A sudden voice appeared behind her and when she tried to look back her surrounding blurred changing completely, the palace hall now became a flat land with a enormous sakura tree at the center, below the tree is a woman dressed in a kimono.  The startled Alicia then began to cast magic only proving her attempt useless "Eh? Wha-what?"

{This is my own world my dear, Magic don't work here} The woman then tittered at her dumbfounded look.

{Worry not for I shall do no harm to you, I just want to let you know that you are not the only one} The woman continued.

"What do you mean by that? I'm not the only reincarnator, is that what you are saying?" Alicia asked.

{Comprehend it as you will, I'm quite busy myself so see you next time okay} The world surrounding Alicia then began to blur out again, she managed asked one more question before her surroundings completely blur.

"Just who are you?"

The woman only smiled at her vanishing figure before answering {You would know soon enough my dear}

Then everything went black and when she opened her eyes, it was already night time and she was in her bed.

"What was that? I can't remember "it's" face or even "it's" voice the only thing that I remember is fear"
