Chapter 2: 2. Danger all around.

I couldn't see anything, I was in complete darkness, I tried to squirm to at least move in any way, and found that I had hit a wall when I moved. Where was I? More importantly, What is surrounding me?! Help! I'm claustrophobic!

I started pushing against the walls around me, feeling them crack as I pushed. Until they finally broke.

I'm alive! Wait, but wasn't I dead? When I got out of that place I was assaulted by an intense light, Where the hell am I?!

Before my eyes could acclimate to the light, I started hearing screeching, and more importantly. Burning.

I look at myself as my eyes got used to the light and I see a small scaly hand.

N-No way. No possible way, what the hell?!

When I look around me, I see that the entire place was on fire! Spiders were scurrying around on fire and I see people throwing torches and shooting flames from their hands at them, isn't this a bit too extreme?! I get out of the cracked egg shell and then try to run into a tunnel that was nearby, I couldn't walk too well as I was too young. I try my hardest to run away from there and reach somewhere away from here.

I follow the tunnel until I reach a much larger cave, that cave had moss growing from the roof and going down the walls, but what was even more prominent here was all the strange monsters killing each other.

Eeeeeek! That's so scary, way too scary! I scuttle back into the tunnel that I came from, I stay in the mid-point of it and I find the charred corpse of a spider there. I take a step back the moment I see it, but I ignore it and sit down.

The moment I sit down, my mind started racing.

What the hell is going on here?! Why is this happening to me?! Lisa, calm down! Don't panic! Deep breaths, deep breaths.

Let's think about this slowly, I'm not human anymore, more like a dragon or some other creature like that. And some God-like being reincarnated me into here as, well, this.

And did he say that he created an entire freaking universe just to teach me a lesson? What the hell, this is all just too much for me, a universe being created just for that, and me having to survive all of these monsters?! How is a girl who never got into a life or death situation supposed to do that?!

I started shivering uncontrollably, my breathing became quick and I started feeling light headed.

Deep breaths Lisa, Deep breaths. I can't control my situation anymore, but what I must do is survive, don't be afraid. You're the bravest person in the world. You won't give into despair, just like what that god said, I can do this!

I managed to stop my shivering and focus my thoughts.

What is most important now is to analyze anything that could help me.

... These people were firing flames from their hands, right? So there must be something like magic right? And this universe was created based on some of my memories right? Well, I remember playing a lot of RPGs, so here goes nothing!

I wait a while but nothing happens.

I started laughing nervously, that joke was horrible, and didn't make much sense, but I need anything to help me feel safer and better. And this happened to be doing its job.

I should just use Appraisal now, now that I'm a lot calmer I should be able to do it.

I look at the spider... then I realised that I don't know how to use it. I didn't know how to use it, so I just thought of using Appraisal in my head.

Oh it worked! But that's it? Well, I gotta use it on myself then.

Status: Alive.

I can already tell that you idiot! Well, it turns out that I'm a drake, so at least I discovered that, well, a great journey begins with a single step I guess. I'll level it up till I can appraise even an atom!

But before I start my practice, I felt my stomach nearly ripping itself apart. I was starving, the feeling in my stomach nearly drove me mad.

I need some food, any food. I'm nearly going to cry from all of this pain in my stomach. I need anything...

In my moment of weakness, I looked at the burnt spider, then I thought for a while.

No. There is no way I am eating a burnt spider, I may have the body of a monster, but I have the heart of a scaredy cat. Wait, cats do eat spiders! Never mind, I have the heart of a wet noodle.

I need to at least test if I can find any other source of food. I need anything other than that spider. How about the end of the tunnel? Surely I can get anything from there.

I walk towards the end of the tunnel to see if there was any hope of me getting food from there. When I got there, I saw giant centipedes fighting dozens of frogs, spiders and strange giant four winged bats. Being devoured alive by the spiders as it starts crushing them against the floor. One of the frogs starts looking around, and looks towards my direction.

Nope.

I immediately retreated back towards the spider, when I got there, I realized that the sounds of people vanished, but fire still crackled.

So, I'm stuck in here, I can only go down into that hell hole, or I stay here with the spider. Is there really no way to get food?

I was getting hungrier and hungrier by the minute as I kept on thinking about what I should do.

At this rate I'm gonna die. I'm really gonna die if I don't do anything, I need to act now, I'm not gonna die. I will do anything to survive. You can do this Lisa. You can do this!

I approached the spider corpse, then immediately got a whiff of its smell as I saw its grotesque lifeless eyes.

Yikes! Wait, let me wash my hands before eating, can't forget my manners! Ahahaha... ha.

... I'm just delaying the inevitable at this point aren't I?

I go up to the burnt spider once more, and then I close my eyes, I put my head down to where it was and then I take a bite, bleh! It tastes a thousand times worse than it looked! But this was no time to be a picky eater, it was either eating it here or venturing out there with those monsters out there.

I force myself and until I finish every last bite. I nearly puke after eating it, but I hold myself. Someone bring me some bleach so I can wash off that awful taste!

Oh? I got something from eating that gross spider, although I don't know what it does or how to use it. Ugh my stomach is feeling terrible.

Suddenly the squirming feeling in my stomach was reduced, thank you Mr. Skill robot. If it weren't for you I'd be having a terrible time.

But now that I was satiated a little bit I look around me, in horror I see that the giant frog that looked at me earlier had actually seen me.

The giant frog hopped closer to me and then held its head back, and shot its tounge towards me. The tongue thankfully missed and had hit the ground instead, the ground was covered in a gross purple liquid from it. The ground started searing as it fell on it, was that acid?! Wait wait, time out, I can't even walk too well now, just give me a moment to prepare!

Of course the frog didn't hear my pleas and continued in it's slow menacing bounce, stop moving so goofily! I would die from embarrassment if I died by such a weird creature! I was shaking upon facing it, but I knew what needed to be done, I run towards the frog with all of my focus on its tongue, as it shoots it towards me, I dodge it and let it fly beside my face, some acid drips on my shoulder which made my scales start making a weird hissing sound, Ow! This really hurts you bastard! I continue on trying my hardest to run towards the frog, when I reach it, I try to scratch it with my front claws, the wound was shallow and my claws bounced off of it, the frog retaliated by jumping and kicking me with its legs, I was thrown away by that attack and had landed away from it, Ow ow! I was feeling completely battered and had a bit of a headache, the frog was approaching me and its mouth was getting bloated, it had then fired a pile of acid towards me from its mouth! I forced myself to get up and dodge that move.

The frog had some smoke coming out of its mouth, It looks like its mouth was burnt by it's own attack, but it still approached me unrelentingly, I looped around it then pretended to come close to it, the frog tries to hit me with its tongue again but it failed, I jumped towards it then bite it in its head. I was now on top of it and it couldn't really throw me off. It kept struggling and crashing into the walls while trying to crush me off it's back, I claw at its eyes and it struggles even harder. I was in agony, but I managed to pull through, I claw and bite at it all I could until it had finally stopped moving, it then fell over and looked dead.
