Chapter 3: 3. Taking a breather, and analyzing what happened.

I sit down after killing the frog. I'm exhausted to an unbelievable degree from that battle.

That was terrifying! Why are frogs so powerful?! And why are they this terrifying?! And why am I shouting?!

But, I've also never felt this... alive, before. I don't know, but every breath I take feels like it's the last one I'll ever have. My hands are shaking so much from that.

Let's just preoccupy myself with something else. Like how killing this frog gave me a level up. It's a little surreal to see a status screen pop up in front of your face, but it's strangely exciting.

I do feel stronger, and the pain that I was feeling was removed. When I look at my shoulder, I see that it wasn't corroded anymore. Oh thank god, I was healed after leveling up.

Well, I also got some more skill points, and I have just the skill in mind for it.

I started appraising things around me, and the moment I do, I get an extremely strong headache. I take a break for my head to stop hurting, when I finally start hearing the sounds of crawling.

Alarmed by that sound I look around, I see that five spiders were running towards me, they were running on the walls and the floor. The moment I see them I instantly turn away from them and start running.

Ah god! Why spiders?! Anything but those hairy demons! Aaaah they're getting closer! Shoo, shoo! Bad spiders! Just let me goo! If I don't get a skill to help me escape, then I'm going to die! I can't run properly, so please give me any running skill, like sprinting!

While running as fast as I can, I feel myself get even faster, I am now outrunning the spiders! Haha, Idiots! I finally reached the end of the tunnel while they were behind me, and suddenly, they stop following me, that's good since I was getting tired. I look around me and see that horrible sight over again.

Aaa this place is terrifying, where should I even go? what should I do?! No point in whining or being a coward Lisa, I should think as carefully about this as possible. Well, I should get out of the open, but man isn't this cave large, it's as wide as the eyes can see and the roof is several hundred meters large, and it's also filled with monsters, I guess my neighbors here aren't very friendly eh? I found a hole by the wall that was covered by moss and vines, it seemed relatively peaceful. And due to how much vegetation there was there, I could assume that nothing got close to this hole for a while, so I went inside it.

I did see a few frogs eating from the moss, but none of them got to this hole, so hopefully it'll be safe at least until I rest.

But man, what a chaotic day, or night, whatever it is, I don't think I'll even be able to rest properly here, I am way too scared of being attacked in my sleep.

It's not like I'll be able to sleep with the sounds of the monsters out there tearing each other apart, truth be told, I'm scared out of my mind, but I have to be as brave as I can.

If I stay terrified and mope around, then I'll die, so I'll just laugh and joke as much as I can. That's the only way for me to stay sane in this insane world.

Well, I was still feeling conscious, so let's do anything that could level up my skills while I was in this hole, I start appraising everything in this hole, I got some interesting information but it was mostly useless.

That was mostly it for the interesting information, since anything else and it would be like, [Rock] [Wall] and things like that. I spammed the hell out of Appraisal but I still didn't get a level up, looks like I underestimated the difficulty of a level up. While I was using Appraisal constantly I was getting a bit of a headache from all the announcements for every single thing I appraised, I decided to stop it with the appraising.

Well, what should I do? I guess I'll meditate to remove the headache I have, I kept trying to meditate to no avail, I had too strong a headache, well, it's not like meditation will be a skill or a super skill or something... that sounds like I'm setting up chekhov's gun. 

I make sure to cover up my little abode with the moss I found nearby and the vines, now I was no longer in sight, plus the violence outside had started decreasing, I think? I felt a little safe in this hole, no one will be able to get me in my safety hole.

Man, I'm just tired and want to go to sleep, I curl up and before I go to sleep I saw my body more properly now, yellow glistening scales and a white underbelly, the scales weren't very developed so I was looking kind of smooth and chubby, well, it's pretty cute I guess, but it offers only a little protection.

I accidentally slap my face with my tail as I curled up, I keep my tail there and ignore the pain until I finally went to sleep.
