Chapter 4: First dinner + vet visit

After sleeping for 6 hours, I feel much better. The farmer, Adam, let me take a walk in the field. I kind of feel hungry all of a sudden. Guess I ate nothing since my birth. I deactivated 'taking over ' and the cow is back to itself. I thought I may get the nutrients from the blood because it carries oxygen, carbon dioxide, and of course nutrients. I still hesitated for a while before taking a drink. I cannot retain my hunger anymore. I took a small sip of the cow's blood.

"HMM! That's good!"

I don't remember blood being that good. The last time I tasted blood is when I accidentally bite myself when eating. It doesn't happens a lot, but I remember blood tastes like iron and it wasn't good. This time, the taste was sweet and warm. To re-check it, I took another sip, bigger than the first one. I never thought changing your body can change your taste too. I finally accept to drink blood which my human me doesn't agree with.

"Ahh!" I sighed.

The meal was satisfying and I feel dizzy. I maybe drank too much. I decided to never make that mistake again. I died like this yesterday. After eating, I retook control of the cow. It was munching grass.

"Pouah!" I spat the grass.

When I was 5 years old and still living with my parents which are in a countryside village, I go often played in the field. I don't remember why I played all day in a field with absolutely nothing, but I seem to enjoy it. One thing that I remember for sure is that on a sunny summer day, my friends and I went to play in a field. We had sticks and we were roleplaying knights. Suddenly, one of the kids said if anyone is bold enough eat a palm full of grass. As I was the bold kid, I said cheerfully "BET!" and took a palm full of grass and began to chew. As soon as I tasted the bitter taste of the grass, I spat out and started crying. I can't believe that I still cry at 5 years old. It tastes the same this time too and even worst. It is dry! It smells pretty good though but tastes horrible.

"Oh no!"

The farmer Adam saw all of this. He look at me with a suspicious glance and began walking towards me. Here I am a big troublemaker.

*Ding

Adam grab my chain and pulled a little. I didn't move.

"Moo!" I protested

Adam "Please, just come with me. We will go see a veterinary. It's for your good."

"Crap, crap, crap" This is going to be really big trouble. As I run out of ideas, I kept walking with Adam. He was talking to me while taking me to the city in his car. Probably a lunatic. Can a cow understand what you are saying, and what do you expect it to answer? As he talking, I saw the city in the distance. I finally know that I'm still on earth. I don't know what kind of parasite I am, but I'm still on earth. I must escape the veterinary. If they discover me, I'll be sure killed and if they discovered that I'm different from other parasites, they will dissect me and study. Either way, I won't be able to leave alive. I had a malicious idea. 'What if I infect the human?' No, no, and no! I cannot do that. I was a human before reincarnation, so I still have feelings for them. I decided to wait and see.

(Adam's side)

The cow is acting weird these days. Yesterday, it screamed like crazy. Today morning, it spurted the grass after taking one bite.

"What's wrong with it???" I said to myself.

"I should take it to see the veterinary. I started walking in its direction. The cow's attention was on me and took a step back. Its action is too human-like. Maybe it's reincarnated??? No, I'm thinking wild again. I should stop doing this. I'm I going crazy? The cow just protested. "Please, just come with me. We will go see a veterinary. It's for your good." Great. Now I'm talking to cows. I'm going crazy. Something unexpected happened. The cow didn't protest this time, as if it understood my words. It's impossible. I cannot accept this. Is it a coincidence or is it?

I'm a lunatic. I talked to the cow from the beginning when I put it in my car to the end at the destination. Although the cow didn't listen to me this time, I was sure that it was listening before. As I was taking it out of the car, it stopped. It looked at me with its cute eyes. It's as if it's begging me to not go to the veterinary. 

"You don't want to go to the veterinary? I never took you there." All of this is very suspicious. I am still asking myself if it's an animal or a reincarnated person. Nevermind. I walked into the hospital. The lady at the front desk talked to us. I know her. She was my friend when we were little.

Lady at the front desk: "Welcome Adam, long time no see!"

Adam: " Yea, I guess so Sarah."

Sarah: "What happened to your cow?"

What? How did she know? I looked backward and saw my cow. I'm completely out of my mind. Too many events happened to me these last two days.

Adam: "Yes, my cow just spilled the ground grass, though I'm sure it's healthy grass because I check almost every week. It also acts weirdly."

Sarah mumbled: "Need a stomach check, blood test, urine test..."

She was always highly competent. She had good results when we were in the same school. Next, she became a veterinary and opened a hospital for pets in the city. I sometimes visit her, because she's my only friend and because my animals get sick.

Sarah: "That's all?"

Adam: "Huh? Yes, yes. Thank you!"

Sarah: "Are you sick too? We only accept animals here sorry..."

Adam: "No, no. I'm okay. Just worrying about my animals."

Sarah: "Aww, you are always caring!"

Adam: "So, I'm living it to you... When should I get it back?"

Sarah: "Come get her after 5 days, I'll call you if it's early."

Adam: "Five days??? Why?"

Sarah: "I have some guesses about what happened to your cow. It's maybe because she ate a parasite."

Adam: "Parasite?"

Sarah: "It can maybe be gastrointestinal strongyles or paramphistome. We will get both checked."

Adam: "I should be more careful about my farm..."

Sarah: "No, no! I trust your farm 100%, these parasites are natural. They can be here anytime and anywhere."

Adam: "I should go now. Thanks again, bye!"

Sarah: "Bye, remember 5 days!"

Fun fact: I said that I'll be writing less than 1000 words, but I demolished it. I cannot stop when I start a conversation in a novel. I can maybe write a whole novel with just conversations XD.

Fun fact2: I don't have free time at home and neither at school. You probably ask: "How are you writing this if you have no time anywhere?" I go to school by bus and it's far. Each day, I got 1h and 30 min to get to school and back for 1h and 3o min. Now I have 3 hours to write this beautiful novel. And sorry guys, I cannot write a chapter a day because you know, limited time. I maybe can do a chapter for 2 days or 3.
