Chapter 9: Stonehenge’s mystery

(Sarah's side)

I woke up early in the morning as usual. It's Sunday 7 am. I went into the kitchen to prepare some food for us... or just for me. It's not awake yet. I still don't know if normal parasites sleep or not, but this one does.

After eating breakfast, I just went to the sofa to watch some news. Some weird things have been happening all around the globe. Not just in my country but everywhere. I think the parasite living in me is one of them. For now, I have no hostility towards it because it hasn't caused any noticeable damage to my body.

There is something wrong with my body, but I don't know yet. Maybe it's still playing with my brain, but I can't do anything right now. The 'system' told me that we were partners so that it couldn't do something bad to my body right?

"Good morning!"

'So you are awake.'

"For quite a bit. I was watching the T.V. with you."

'Do you think any of this is real?'

"Yes."

'So you are one of them?'

"Maybe, but I'm not a mutated."

Many living things have been mutating these years.

In the beginning, we thought it is going to stop in some years and just let it be, but it has been a lot in the last two years. We suspected radioactivity, but it wasn't any of this kind.

There was a sort of magical force forcing the creatures to mutate said one of the scientists. They analyzed their DNA and didn't find any broken codes or different genes, but still mutates.

'You are a new creature that mankind hasn't discovered yet.' I replied.

"There are many creatures that mankind hasn't discovered."

'So they will sure study on you if they knew you have high IQ.'

"Probably, but who is sure that they can discover that I'm in you currently?"

*Knock knock*

Someone knocked on the door. I got up and looked. There were people in white suits outside.

'Hello? How may I help you?' I said.

'Hello miss, you just saw that in the past two years, the mutated creatures have been quite a lot and they transmit mutagen to people, so we would like your corporation for a blood test.'

'I'm done!' I thought.

"You're done," The parasite said.

'Actually, you are done.' I replied.

I left the house with them and went to the indicated location. Many people were in line for the blood test. I'm not the only one, I thought.

'How are we going to escape?' I asked it.

"I have two choices now: a cowardly and a risky, which one would it be?"

'Whatever!'

Suddenly, a black mist enveloped me and I blacked out.

(Louis' side)

We better not get caught. I already suspected that it might happen one day, so 'space share' will be useful this time, but I didn't try with Sarah yet. I hope that there will be no accident. 

"Space share!"

A black mist enveloped Sarah and we got teleported in the same 10-meter cube of space.

'Ugh... What was that' Sarah said.

"You are awake?" I asked.

'What is this place? Are we in the laboratory being tested?' She is suddenly panicked.

"Calm down, we are safe now."

I noticed something weird. I wasn't in Sarah's body. I was looking at her body directly. She wasn't naked like the other time (I still regret it). At first, I thought she didn't get teleported into this dimension, but I saw something really big in front of me.

It was her shoes. I forgot how small I am. I feel pathetic.

Suddenly, she gets up and almost steps on me.

"S...Stop! Don't walk around!"

'Why?' She said as she looked around.

"I'm here! Look down!"

She saw me and crawl down to look at me closer.

'Why are you out of my body? Are you ok?' She asked me.

"I'm fine... Just a little small."

'Maybe it's to show your physical form in the space to have a face-to-face conversation?'

'Of course.' She said as she stretched her arm to grab me.

I jumped on her finger and she lift me fast. Now, she's staring at me with her finger. That reminds me of my younger me.

My father was a normal citizen who worked in his shop. I often visit him when I have free time and he will always give me candy.

I remember that time when I was 6, my dad gave me ice cream. I was really happy and went to the board of the road to eat it. There was a bunch of ants on the side of the road. I was stupid and fed them a little bit of ice cream.

I took one on my finger and looked at it closely. I expected them of looking like cartoon ants but they look horrible and crushed them with my other finger.

What I've got myself into is the same. I feel like being crushed by Sarah any minute from now. She moves her finger quite a lot.

"Slow down! I don't want to fall."

'Okay, please calm down.' 

Wait. If it's our personal space, it means that I can change my size at will. I'm going to try it. Better big than small.

"Sarah. Can you throw me forward?"

'Why? You said that you don't want to fall.'

"It's okay, I'm going to try something."

She bent her arm and threw me. I thought hard about being bigger and it worked. I went from a centimeter to 2 meters high.

'What? AH!' She screamed.

'Why are you so big all of a sudden?'

"It's our personal space, remember? We could theoretically control our size in the 10-meter cube space."

Now, I'm the same height or a little bit higher than Sarah. It feels weird but better than 1 centimeter.

"What's the matter?" I asked after seeing her face looking at me a bit awkwardly.

'Nothing. It just creeps me out to see you in this size. A big 2 meters slug.'

"It's not that creepy. You are a lot creepier than I do. If you were my size, I would be like 165 meters high slug looking at you."

'Anyways, so what's your plan?' She asked.

I didn't think about that. I was thinking about going to another country with less security to wait and see how the mutation situation develops, or we can just go help the humans but we will get discovered faster than living a little bit in another country.

"Let's go to another country to wait and see how the mutation situation develops. We will get less chance of being discovered and we can have some peaceful moments." I replied.

'Ok, I don't see any problems. Maybe we will have some language difficulties, but I think English will work well. It's an international language.'

"What country should we go to?"

'I guess England should work well. I saw that their mutation security is not as much as ours here.'

"Here we go England!"

[Destination: Milky Way/ Solar System/ Earth/ England/ Latitude: 51° 10' 26.30" N, Longitude:  -1° 49' 20.56" W...

Proceed teleportation...]

What's up with these strange coordinates? I thought we are going to England.

[Error... Error... Error]

What's happening?

[Wormhole has been led toward a new destination...

Location locked...

Teleportation in 10, 9, 8...]

'What have you done?' Sarah panicked.

"Nothing! I swear! Guess we have to meet there."

[3, 2, 1. Space bent... proceed teleportation.]

The space in front of us seems to be stretched and we were sucked in. That was weird. The coordinates on earth were set by default and it led to an error.

Would it be fine if I choose other countries like China or Brazil?

Sorry to post it late... I was busy, or always busy. I got no idea how to make this part not awkward and fun for more possibilities, but don't worry, I already have a plan in my head for chapter 10. See you guys in the next chapter!)
