Chapter 103: The leader

The eye kept observing the other people in the room to ensure that they would not make any sudden moves.

Their eyes kept following Leo but they did not dare to struggle

"System, is there a way to get rid of this tumorous growth?" thought Leo.

It was a while before the system responded.

 

 

"The tumorous growth can be reverted but it will be at the cost of your strength, it will not be permanent and your strength will return after an hour."

"Alright, how do I do it?"

"Put your hand on a part of the growth and focus your energy on it, you must embrace it and allow it to become a part of you."

 

 

Leo was startled upon this response, particularly the fact that it would become a part of him, it was probably the reason for the temporary strength loss.

Leo put his hand on a part of the growth in the room and focused, after a while he felt something creeping up his hand.

Leo decided not to open his eyes since it would probably startle him.

 

 

After the sensation was gone he finally decided to open his eyes.

Leo's arm had gotten a light shade of red but that was about it.

The tumorous growth in the room had also disappeared, even the large eye overseeing those who were trapped in the flesh.

 

 

Nine people were on the ground in total and three of them were lightly injured.

Leo shapeshifted back into his human form before questioning the cultists.

"Who is your leader?" questioned Leo in a commandeering voice.

One of the nine members kneeled before Leo.

"Our leader was last seen in the grand hall, I am the second in command here, Satus."

 

 

 

"Bring me to your leader." said Leo in a cold tone.

All of the cultist were wearing a cloak, hiding their emotions and physical shapes, however Leo could obviously see the distress that they were in.

 

 

 

Satus, their second in command was shaking heavily.

"Why... why did you do this...", murmured one of the cultists.

Everyone looked at the cultist in despair, for all they know he doomed them all to a fate worse than death by questioning that.

Leo simply laughed upon hearing the question.

"I have been chosen by Ion to pass judgment upon those who differed from his believes, those who resisted were absorbed." said Leo.

All the cultists knelt before Leo and lifted their hoods.

 

 

Most of them looked normal but four of them were mutated.

"We have always followed our lord's ways. Your power is formidable and we acknowledge you as our benefactor, how do we refer to you?", said Satus.

Normally he would not be willing to submit to someone so quickly, but he had never seen power like this. Within seconds the entire tunnel system was taken over, if he wanted he could kill everyone here within seconds.

 

 

"Refer to me as Leo. I do not want any special titles for now. Those who submit to Ion's will shall be spared by me, those who devote themselves to him will be blessed. Those who resist him will be executed. Is that clear?"

"Yes, Leo!", said the cultists in unison.

 

 

"Good, for now I want all of you to stay here except Satus."

Satus got startled upon hearing his name.

"Satus, I want you to lead me to your leader. You do not have to fear any of the flesh growth if you are with me."

"Y-yes Leo.", responded Satus.

 

 

Leo and Satus exited the room and Satus took the lead.

Every now and then Leo would stop to absorb some of the tumorous growth back in his body.

He felt himself gradually grow weaker and weaker, but either way he had to do it sometime.

 

 

After a while Satus stopped infront of a fancy door.

"This is the grand hall, our leader was last seen in here.", said Satus.

The door was not affected by the growth at all.

Leo pushed the door open and entered the grand hall.

 

 

Leo was quite disappointed upon seeing the hall, since it was not as grand as you would believe.

Infront of an altar stood a cloaked figure, but his cloak was different from the other ones.

 

 

It was blood red with black lines and there was a seal drawn on the ground.
