Chapter 46: Continuation of the mission

When Leo got up the first thing he did was have some breakfast in the temporary kitchen.

It was nothing compared to the mess hall in London, but it was enough.

Leo got a bowl of chicken soup with some vegetables.

 

 

 

Leo was done with his breakfast at around 9:30 AM.

He went back to his tent and prepared for the departure.

He bled his hand once again and refilled some vials that had broken or leaked.

 

 

 

In the end Leo was quite happy with the weapon selection that Christopher made for him, he went to the ammo storage to refill his magazines for the MAC-10.

At around 10:00 AM he was completely prepared for the mission.

Leo decided to use his spare time to visit Crawler.

 

 

 

Crawler was in the tent next to Leo, he knew this because he kept seeing medics walking in and out of the tent and he heard one of them referring to Crawler by his real name.

Leo entered the tent and saw Crawler laying on the bed, he was no longer attached to an IV but he still looked pretty horrible.

"You sure you are able to join me and Artemis on the mission Crawler?" asked Leo.

 

 

 

Crawler nodded at him before responding.

"Yes, they've prescribed me some heavy painkillers and once we finish this mission our squad will be on temporary absence."

This statement would be true for everyone except Leo, Iris already made that much clear from the short conversation they had yesterday.

 

 

 

"Alright, I will be taking my leave so you can prepare yourself for the mission, feel free to come to my tent if you need anything." said Leo.

After that, he quickly left the tent and returned to his own.

Leo checked over his equipment one more time to ensure he had everything and sat down on bed.

He contemplated his current decisions and wondered if he made the right ones so far.

After sitting around for another thirty minutes a combative entered the tent.

 

 

 

The combative saluted Leo before speaking.

"Agent Nightmare, your transport is ready. Please follow me."

Leo got up from his bed and took his gear and followed the combative.

 

 

 

In the middle of the camp stood another armored swat vehicle, but this time with a different name.

In front of the vehicle were once again two drivers.

Leo approached them and greeted them.

 

 

 

"Greetings, my name is Ghost and my partner here is Ghoul, we have been drivers for several years here."

Ghost was a pretty thin man and was wearing a scream mask meanwhile Ghoul was wearing a cloak over his head.

Artemis and Crawler also introduced themselves to the drivers before climbing into the back of the vehicle.

 

 

 

The object they were transporting was also in the back, and after a couple of checkups on the vehicle, they departed once again.

After fifteen minutes of silence, Artemis was the first to speak.

"Crawler, you just rest, me and Nightmare will stay guard, I assume you have no complaints right?"

 

 

 

Artemis looked in Leo's direction.

Leo really didn't like having other people speak in his place, but he was okay with it for this one time.

Either way, he would have agreed.

 

 

 

"Yeah, it's fine. Crawler needs to rest after all."

Crawler thanked Leo and Artemis once again before falling asleep.

"Alright Artemis, I will cover the night shift and you cover the day shift, so I am going to sleep as well. Wake me up if you need anything." said Leo.

Leo quickly closed his eyes and finally fell asleep after two hours.

"Nightmare, wake up."

Leo opened his eyes in a daze.

 

 

 

"Time to switch, we are at Russia's border. It should be smooth sailing from here on out."

Leo got up and stretched a bit for responding.

"Alright, let's switch, I will wake you up if I need anything."

 

 

 

Leo once again got on guard.

He took one of the camera monitors and looked outside.

Russia didn't look much different from Belarus, They would most likely arrive at their destination in about 14 hours.

"Time to wait it out, I guess."
