Chapter 59: Awakening

The creature kept walking toward Leo, with each step it took the area around it trembled.

Leo was scared by this power, a simple step was enough to incapacitate him.

At this point Leo had already collapsed to the ground, supporting his body with his knees.

 

 

 

After a couple more steps the creature arrived at Leo.

Leo looked up at the creature with hatred.

"I've been given a second chance, like hell I want it to end here!" thought Leo.

 

 

 

The creature looked Leo in the eyes before extending his hand towards Leo's chin.

The hand was deformed and made out of flesh.

Normally Leo would've slapped the hand away, but he was quite literally incapable of moving due to the current pressure he was under.

 

 

 

When the creature touched Leo's chin he was hit with a sudden headache.

His head filled with thousand of images, playing at rapid speed.

They depicted horrible things, people transforming into flesh monsters and becoming like the eldritch creatures that were all around the barren landscape.

 

 

 

It felt like the creature was sharing some of his memories with Leo, the creature had controlled a big army of followers.

At the same time, Leo also felt like the creature was taking a look at some of Leo's memories, he didn't know how to describe it.

Leo felt like he had some hatebound connection with the creature.

 

 

 

The final image lingered in Leo's head for a bit longer, it depicted a war that the creature fought and lost, he was banished from the mortal realm and it was the reason the creature was here now.

After the last image, the creature removed his hand from Leo's chin before taking a step back.

 

 

 

In the next second the creature walked toward Leo once again but touched his forehead this time.

In the next second, Leo heard a hoarse voice, there was only one way to describe it.

This is how Leo imagined the devil would speak.

 

 

 

"You will do." said the creature.

After that Leo felt an immense pain coming from his forehead.

The pressure around Leo released itself a bit and Leo took out a small pocket makeup mirror that he kept, he used it to check if he was being followed by anyone.

 

 

 

Leo opened the mirror and looked at his forehead.

He was shocked when he saw a symbol carved into his forehead, it looked like some kind of void.

The symbol itself was dripping blood.

 

 

 

Leo looked back towards the creature and saw it transform his hand into a giant mouth with sharp, jagged teeth.

Before Leo could react, the mouth surrounded his body and bit him.

However, Leo did not feel any pain.

Instead, he woke up in a cold sweat, breathing heavily.

"What the..."

 

 

 

Leo touched his body in multiple places to find himself alright.

Leo took out the makeup mirror and took a look at his forehead.

There was nothing there, no symbol or anything.

 

 

 

At this point, the maid driving the vehicle turned around and spoke to Leo.

"Sir Leo, are you alright?" she asked.

Leo let out a sigh before speaking.

"Yes, I am fine. Just had a nightmare." said Leo.

 

 

 

He knew that it was not just a dream, since the pressure and pain he felt was real.

But if he told someone about it they would just think he was insane.

The maid nodded and turned around, continuing to drive.

 

 

 

Leo closed his eyes and asked a question in his mind.

"What is my current sub-class?"

This only confirmed Leo's suspicions more, but he did not know what to do now.

He had no idea what his sub-class was nor any idea on how to use it.

Leo was still quite concerned about it though, he saw the images of what the creature had done to other humans and feared the same would happen to him.

However, it was something to worry about at a later time, he had to mentally prepare himself for the mission.

Leo made sure his equipment was on correctly and that everything was holstered correctly and that his MAC-10 was loaded.

In fifteen minutes from now, all hell would break loose.
