Chapter 60: Facility raid

when Leo was completely ready, he relaxed his body into the back of the vehicle.

He sat around for a while before striking up a conversation with the maid.

"So, what is Alyona's position in the servant hierarchy?" asked Leo.

 

 

 

The maid seemed to be startled by Leo's question.

"What do you mean, sir Leo?"

"Oh please, don't act dumb with me. It is obvious that Alyona has a higher status than the rest of you."

It took about ten seconds before the maid responded.

 

 

 

"Well, miss Alyona is the head maid."

Leo had already expected something like this, but small talk was always welcome.

Leo and the maid continued speaking for a while until they drove into a forest.

 

 

 

They did not go in deep and the maid stopped the car soon after entering the forest.

The maid stepped out of the car and opened the door for Leo before speaking.

"I cannot go further than this or we will be noticed. I wish you good luck on your mission."

The maid extended her hand and gave Leo a buzzer.

"Click the button twice and someone will be here to pick you up within fifteen minutes."

 

 

 

She bowed and got back in the vehicle and drove off.

Leo sat down on the cold, damp ground and put the buzzer away.

He performed a final check on his gear before standing up.

 

 

 

"Time to get this party started." thought Leo.

He silently walked through the forest, the only sound that could be heard were some crickets and the leaves crunching under his feet.

The moonlight shimmered on the forest lightly, ensuring that Leo could still see things creeping up on him.

 

 

 

Leo kept walking for a while and after a while, he arrived at the edge of the forest.

He laid down in the foliage, covering his body in some leaves.

If someone passed by they had to focus their eyes really hard on a specific spot in order to see Leo.

 

 

 

Leo looked upon the entrance of the facility.

The entrance appeared to be a cave, Leo kept seeing guards entering and exiting.

Obviously, the foundation didn't have a massive logo on the wall.

 

 

 

There were about twenty guards outside, four of them were guarding the entrance to the facility meanwhile the others were roaming around the edge of the forest.

After waiting for a while, Leo saw his chance.

A guard walked up close to his position, letting out a loud yawn.

He spoke into the radio and continued walking.

"HQ, this is Wendigo. I will be logging out in five minutes."

Leo could not hear the response of HQ, instead, he heard some radio static.

 

 

 

Leo used this to his advantage.

Leo stood up and dashed towards the guard.

"What the..."

 

 

 

Before the guard could finish his sentence and prepare for combat, a loud crack was heard.

Leo dragged the guard into the forest.

 

 

 

His body was fine, there was no blood.

The only thing that was wrong with the man was that his head was turned at a sickly angle.

He let out some gurgling sounds and looked at Leo, shocked.

 

 

 

Leo took a look around ensuring that no guards were nearby before whispering to the man.

"What a waste of training, if you actually did your job properly you might have survived.

I bet you never imagined dying this way, but fear not. You are not dead yet.

You get to suffer first. In about thirty seconds you will lose consciousness. In about four minutes after that your brain will get damaged severely, if someone would miraculously save you you would simply said be retarded for the rest of your life. Shortly after that you will die."

Leo grinned sinisterly while the man looked at Leo in fear.

 

 

 

He had trained multiple years in the army before getting recruited into the foundation, he had dedicated his entire life to rising the ranks just to have it end with this.

The man closed his eyes permanently shortly after that and Leo instantly started stripping his body.

 

 

 

"I probably would've just shot him if it wasn't for there being blood." thought Leo.

He had to watch out and ensure that the guard's uniform would not get any blood on it, since it would raise the alarm.

"Alright, let's see if I can still do this."

 

 

 

Leo shapeshifted into the guard and saved it into one of his slots.

Leo quickly put on the guard's outfit and hid his weapon and other equipment in some pockets and holsters before taking the radio and speaking.

 

 

 

"HQ this is Wendigo signing off for the night."

A response soon followed.

"HQ to Wendigo, approved. Have a good night."
