Chapter 75: Anticlimactic

Emilia was about to explode in anger meanwhile Leo was calculating some factors in his head.

He used to watch a lot of strategy games and he knew he was at a major disadvantage.

They were currently in a confined space with a oneway exit that was blocked by their enemies, they were also outnumbered and his teammate was about to snap, they also did not have any weapons on them since they were hard to conceal with their current outfits.

He first planned on just handing the robbers their money, since it was not a lot to him.

 

 

 

He didn't want to clean another mess since it would raise awareness, but Emilia pretty much fucked everything up for Leo.

All Leo could do now was ease some of the negative factors, and that was also what he was gonna do.

Leo dashed off to the nearest trashcan and picked up two glass wine bottles.

He smashed one of the bottles against the side of the trashcan, resulting in the bottle breaking and creating a makeshift knife.

 

 

 

"Pirate! Here!" yelled Leo.

He tossed the other bottle to Emilia and she also smashed it.

Calling Emilia Pirate here was quite the gamble, but Leo hoped that it would pay off.

He didn't plan on killing the robbers since they would not be able to dispose of the corpses, he planned on injuring them and having them run away with a warning.

 

 

 

There was a chance that they would go to the police and report what happened and in case that happened, they would not have Emilia's name, only her codename.

Emilia was still a human and was a verified citizen, if the police somehow tracked the incident back to her she would get in trouble.

In the meantime the robbers hadn't made any moves, they didn't expect it to get down to this.

 

 

 

Usually, they just threatened a rich couple and they would hand over their money, some tended to refuse but when they flashed their knives they would instantly oblige.

Leo was stressing out internally, it seemed that there would be no positive ending for the,.

"Pirate, you can go all out, just don't kill any of them or injure them too heavily. I will be your vanguard and ensure that none of them escape onto the main street." said Leo.

 

 

 

"All fine with me, Nightmare. I will teach these scum a lesson for calling me a whore!"

Emilia made the first move and started walking toward the robbers.

The two unarmed robbers froze in fear for a second until one of the knife wielders called out to Leo.

 

 

 

"You! Listen up!" yelled the man.

Emilia was still walking toward them and Leo answered to the man.

The man was not pleased with Leo's response, but still responded.

 

 

 

"How about this! We leave this alleyway and leave you alone. You won't talk about what happened here and neither would we! Figuring you are using codenames that would be the best for us both."

Emilia snorted upon hearing this and was about to strike until Leo responded.

"I accept!"

Emilia looked towards Leo with shocked eyes, she was not happy with this response.

 

 

 

Leo walked toward Emilia and put his hand on her shoulder, ensuring that she would not lash out at the robbers.

The robbers were slowly walking out of the alleyway meanwhile facing Leo and Emilia, making sure that they would not make any sudden moves.

The moment they left the alleyway Emilia snapped at Leo.

 

 

 

"What the hell dude! Why the fuck did you let them walk away!"

"We could've had them! They fucking called me a whore and you let them walk away?!?"

Leo tried multiple times to get through Emilia's rambling, but she just kept on going on.

Leo raised his hand and in the next second Emilia was hit with a cold slap to her cheek.

She looked up at Leo in shock and he responded.

 

 

 

"Would you fucking listen to me for a second!"

 

 

 

"We were at a major disadvantage from the beginning! We were outnumbered and even if we would've won we would have been injured for sure! You should be fucking glad that the robbers offered to retreat!"

Emilia was still shocked and tears could be seen forming in her eyes.

However, Leo continued his assault with words.

 

 

 

"Do you want us to die?! Do you want to expose us as MC&D agents?! If we would have entered the main street injured we would surely be rushed off to a hospital! The same goes for those robbers! What do you think would happen to me once they find out that I am not human, Huh? Where would you think I would end up then!?! The only reason I chose to fight them was because there was no better option!"

At this point, Leo saw the tears running down Emilia's cheeks and she responded with a shaky voice.
