Jasmine felt a chill down her spine when she saw Bardumond's expression. No matter what demon had bitten her, he was definitely going to kill him.

Her heart felt like it would break out of her chest when she remembered the events the previous night. The sharp pain when Dairon kissed her neck…it must have been because he bit her! How could she not have thought about it all this time?

She laughed awkwardly. "What are you talking about? A demon?"

Crap. If her voice sounded as shaky as she thought it did, it wouldn't take long for Bardumond to figure out what was actually happening.

Bardumond tried to touch her neck but she evaded his fingers. What if touching it helped him figure out the identity of the demon?

"Did you encounter any demons recently?" He asked, guessing that Jasmine had evaded his touch because the wound hurt too much.

"I don't think so." She desperately wanted to dash away but that would make the whole situation suspicious.

"What of males you have never seen before? He could have disguised himself as a god or demigod. Did anyone try to bite you?" He asked gently as he glanced at her neck.

"No." This was an awkward conversation. If a stranger tried to bite her, did he think she would present her neck for him to bite? Of course she would bolt away!

"I'm pretty certain this is from a demon's fangs." He held her head in place to inspect her neck. "I'll not touch it." He promised.

That was not the point!

Her heart raced almost out of control. She so badly wanted to compel him to let her go. But if he realized it, Dairon would be killed. She forced herself to calm down. How could he know who the demon was by looking at her wound? It couldn't possibly have inscribed his face on her neck, of course. Even if it did, Dairon looked different as a demon.

"I've seen this kind of fangs before. The kind that are extremely pointed at the tip and are longer than others." He analyzed.

"Uh…" She was speechless. How did he know so much? She hadn't even ever seen Dairon's fangs! She had even forgotten that demons had them.

As if he knew that she was shocked, he pulled her to sit on a bench and explained, "Catalyah was bitten by Ulke before. He wanted to forcefully make himself her mate." Since he knew that she had Catalyah's memories, he guessed that she must know who Ulke was. "If we didn't make him give her the antidote, she would have gradually turned into a demoness and followed him to the underworld as his female. This is why I think all demons must be killed."

He let go of her and took out a few colorful herbs from his basket, which he wrapped in a large leaf.

"I would make the ointment for you but I need to find out the demon lurking in the realm of immortals. I'll chop his tail faster than he can howl out his name." His eyes darkened but he tried to control his temper so he wouldn't scare her. "Pour hot water in a bowl and drop this in it. When it cools down, rub some of it to your neck. It will not heal the wound but the bleeding will stop and you will not feel any more pain."

"Why can it not heal the wound?" She asked. It would be easier if the wound would heal as soon as possible, because it couldn't be used to identify the demon anymore.

"A demon's bite can only be healed by a scale from his tail." He sighed.

She tilted her head as she remembered Dairon's demon form. He didn't have a tail, did he?

A ball of fire formed in the pit of her stomach when Bardumond stood and set off to investigate. She couldn't let that happen! If only she could reverse time so she didn't seek him.

For the first time, she wished she hadn't made Dairon take back his elements. It would have been useful if she could temporarily control time.

A clock appeared before her before she could lament about her wish being too meaningless. Surprise filled her eyes. She had seen Dairon control time before so she knew that she was the only one who could see the clock. Bardumond had already walked away so there was no chance that he would know about it.

She sighed in relief and reached for the only hand on the clock. If she turned it twenty minutes earlier, she would go back to when she arrived at the island but was yet to seek Bardumond. But what if she did it wrong and messed up with the future?

She tried not to think about it. It was more important to save Dairon. It was selfish to disregard other deities but what if Dairon harmed them when they tried to kill him? They would still be in danger either way. After convincing herself that her mate was the most important, she turned the clock ten minutes backwards. A blinding ray of light flashed before her eyes.

She looked around when she arrived at the mansion. What was she planning to do right after getting home from the academy? She scratched her head trying to think about it.

Right! She had decided to try opening Narilia's door to wherever Dairon was. She had been deathly scared of demons before. Who would have thought that she would be so willing to summon one to open a door so she would find another?

She chanted the incantation she had never comprehended and glanced at the black door. She knew that Narilia was Catalyah's sister but who was Tolvethor anyway?

Whatever. It was more important to find Dairon.

She was yet to get in through the door when he stepped out. She threw herself into his arms. "Where did you go?"

He hugged her as his heart finally calmed. He had taken longer than he expected, so he wasn't shocked to see the scarf around her neck. She must have figured out what happened. "I went to find you a cure."

He was still in his demon form so she guessed that he had gone to the underworld. At the mention of a cure, she remembered her conversation with Bardumond, which happened before she reversed time. She had thought that the incident would be erased from her memory. It was great that she recalled Bardumond's reaction, so she knew who not to tell about the demon bite.

She glanced behind him, making him turn around with raised eyebrows. "What are you looking for?"

"Your tail." She stood before him when she didn't see it.

"I don't have one." He tried to figure out why she was suddenly asking about it.

She tapped her chin. "So, what kind of cure did you go to look for? Bardumond said that the only cure is a scale from your tail." She shuddered at the thought. It was a relief that Dairon didn't have a tail. Bardumond had made it sound like it was supposed to look like a snake. She couldn't stand anything that had any semblance to the creatures she was most scared of.

"Bardumond?" He glanced back at the door and shut it, in case other passerby demons saw it and decided to walk in out of curiosity.

She sat on her bed and looked up at him. "He saw the wound and immediately guessed that it was the bite of a demon. He almost figured out your true identity."

She remembered his description of what Ulke did and looked displeased. "He also said that demons bite females to forcefully make them theirs."

He instantly understood what she was getting at and sighed. "That's not why I bit you."

"Why did you do it?" She wanted to know. She didn't mind it but if his bite was going to make him her mate, she would appreciate it if he asked before doing it.

"I lost control of myself when I saw your fair neck. I couldn't stop my demon from coming out and…" He slumped beside her and stopped speaking, taking out what looked like ground herbs. He applied it on her neck and rubbed it.

She looked at him and winced when the juice from the herbs penetrated the wounds. "And what?"

He grinned. "The last thing you would ever want to see is my demon side when it's out of control. You will be scared of me."

"You cannot be the one to tell that." She smiled in relief when she learnt that nothing bad was going to happen. "Why did you go back to the underworld? Didn't Ulke tell you not to go back?"

"I can't go back in my demigod form." He explained.

She frowned in disapproval, once again wincing when she felt a sting on the wounds. "Why did you put yourself in danger like that? What would happen if you accidentally showed them your demigod side?"

"As long as you don't turn into a demoness, it will be worth it.." He covered up the wound.
