"What happened to Dairon?" Jasmine's heart skipped a beat. She didn't know what was better, finding him when he was potentially in danger or not finding him at all.

Alaya sat her down but she was still in panic. "He went to the Enchanted Circle. I couldn't stop him no matter how hard I tried."

Jasmine was uncertain. Why was it a bad thing to go to the Enchanted Circle when he was a water demigod? Dylan and Nila couldn't possibly harm her, knowing that they still wanted him and Marina to marry.

"The water deities are against him. I'm not sure why but someone claimed that Dairon is a demon. I'm afraid they may want to hurt him thinking he really is one."

Jasmine felt guilty and averted her gaze. Dairon was actually a demon and she knew this, but there was no easy way to tell his mother.

However, she had a feeling that Alaya would find out soon and probably in a cruel way. It would be easier if she found out from a demigoddess she was a little closer to than from raging gods who wanted to kill her son.

"About that, there is something you need to know." She started nervously.

Alaya's reaction reciprocated hers and she felt the need to drag it for as long as possible. She made Jasmine a cup of rose tea and sat with her in the living room before finally bracing herself. "What were you going to tell me?"

"It's about the human you loved." She started.

"You mean Lothan, Dairon's father?"

"Yes."

Alaya was even more curious and nervous. What would Jasmine want to talk about that had to do with him?

"He didn't tell you everything about himself." She uneasily played with the handle of her cup.

"What do you know about him?" Alaya was more nervous as she eyed the demigoddess before her.

"That he was not a human. He was an immortal." She revealed, and the goddess remained silent for so long that worry started to creep into Jasmine's heart.

"Yeah, that's not possible." Alaya laughed. "How can he be an immortal? He is dead. He died even before Dairon was born."

This was going to be harder than expected, Jasmine concluded. She waited for the goddess to calm down a little before she asked, "Did you see his body?"

"Just his headstone." Alaya looked hurt just thinking about it. "I only found it recently. All these years, I've been drowning in regret for not even seeing him after what happened in my family. I only found his headstone when I came back searching in the human realm. It's here on Cannon Island."

"That doesn't mean there's a body in it." Jasmine argued.

Alaya was starting to lose her patience. "No there isn't. He died ages ago. Do you think there would still be a body?"

This sounded awfully like a trap.

"Could you show me?" She requested, and Alaya happily obliged. She led her through the back door of her house to the backyard. It finally made Jasmine understand why she had suddenly decided to relocate to Cannon Islands.

They walked through the garden and at the end of it, at an ancient broken mansion stood the said headstone labeled Lothan.

"I've wanted to bring Dairon here for a while. However, he is getting along with me as his mother. We are not close enough for this. I would like him to meet his father even if he is no longer here." She was so emotional that Jasmine was speechless.

She looked around for clues and finally found one. She grabbed Alaya's hands to get her attention, making the latter stop talking.

"Goddess Alaya, I don't mean to disrespect the memory of your beloved but please hear me out." She pleaded.

"Go ahead."

She glanced at the headstone then at Alaya. "No one said I couldn't use Dairon's powers, right?"

"What are you even saying?" Alaya inched closer to check out whatever Jasmine was looking at.

"I want to know how old this headstone is." She whispered out and a clock appeared above the headstone to reveal its age.

"What? How could this be?" Alaya was shocked. The headstone was fifty years old. It wouldn't make sense no matter what realm they were in. She touched it in confirmation and whipped her head to Jasmine. "What's the meaning of this?"

"You have been tricked. This is not your lover. I'm sorry." She placed her hand on Alaya's shoulder, who was already devastated and on the verge of tears.

"He is still alive and has taken back his true identity, as the king of the underworld." She answered.

Alaya burst into laughter when the words sunk in. When she realized that Jasmine wasn't laughing along, panic started to form in her heart. "Are you implying that Lothan is Ulke, the king of the underworld?"

"Yes." Jasmine hated to be the one to break the news. "He lied to you."

"You're kidding, right? Why would Lothan be Ulke?"

"Sadly, I'm not." She knew that Alaya wouldn't immediately believe her but she would once she met Ulke again.

"Would you like me to stay here?" She offered, knowing that the latter was heartbroken.

"Thanks but I'd like to be alone for now." She sighed sadly.

"If you need me, don't hesitate to call me." She offered, to which Alaya nodded.

She was on her way out of the house when Alaya broke the uncomfortable silence. "He is a real demon, isn't he?" He asked, referring TO Dairon. It only made sense since Jasmine had brought it up when they were talking about Dairon being accused of being one.

Jasmine didn't dare to meet her gaze. "He is. I wish he had been the one to tell you but…"

"I would find out in a harsher way if you waited." Alaya interrupted. "I understand, Jas."

Jasmine nodded slightly and left to search for Dairon. She wasn't certain how she would get to the Enchanted Circle so she summoned Phoenix.

"Jasmine." Alaya came up behind her again. She called out. When Jasmine turned, she gave her a white pendant. "The Enchanted Circle may reject you. This will help keep your presence unnoticeable."

Jasmine picked it up though she still wondered what the sea and the Enchanted Circle had against her. "Thank you."

"Good luck.." Whispered Alaya before giving her a hug.
