Jasmine walked downstairs feeling upset for some unknown reason. But then again, she was in a place where she could kill just to leave. For good. It was not surprising that she was constantly in a bad mood. It just felt much worse today, which she couldn't understand.

Dairon was already at the dining table. When she saw him, she turned to leave but he had already felt her presence so he turned to ask, "Don't you want to eat breakfast?"

"Just not with you." She gritted her teeth. How could she have any desire to eat when she was in the presence of this shameless man, the very one whose bare chest she had seen in her dreams?

He smiled, revealing his perfectly shaped teeth that were whiter than any set she had ever seen. "What a bummer. I hate to be the one to announce it, but in this realm, women have to eat together with their men."

"You are not my man and I wouldn't want to dine with you even if you were." She countered, to which he laughed.

"Stop messing around, flower. Sit down and eat." He looked into her eyes and it was too late for her to look away. Great. He had compelled her.

Even though she didn't want to, she had to have breakfast and the spell—or whatever he had done to her—would only break when she had her fill. It was a good thing that there were blueberry Pancakes. At least the man considered what she liked.

She ate slowly as she studied him closely. If one were to ignore how annoying he could get, he was attractive. She didn't know the right word to describe his looks. Hypnotising? She couldn't deny that his blue eyes were indeed like a vortex that could suck whoever was looking at them in. It was a good thing that they were currently covered by his long lashes as he looked down in his plate, though she had to admit that it only made him look more handsome.

His aura was terrifying at times and it could make one shiver, though she was certain that he would have tons of shyly folded love notes, addresses, and contact numbers at his feet if he appeared in Efinchil. The women in her hometown liked this type of men—handsome yet terrifying. They were definitely crazy. Which made her want to ask, how exactly did he decide that she was the one he should select to be with him? He looked up and she was startled. Why did it feel like he was reading her thoughts?

He supported his face against the back of his hand, his elbow planted on the table. "I didn't know you had such a high evaluation of me, flower."

He really was reading her thoughts. What an invasion of privacy.

"I wouldn't read your thoughts if they weren't so entertaining." He laughed.

He had a twisted sense of entertainment too, she noted. What kind of mess had her life turned into? She couldn't even think in peace as her brain was invaded along with her personal space.

"I can stay away from your thoughts if you want." He promised, after reading her thoughts yet again.

"Then, do that starting now." She snarled. She stood to leave, only to sit back down against her will.

"Let me go!" She was losing it.

"I'm not holding you, flower." He laughed, making fun of her while knowing that she was still under his compelling spell.

"I said let me go!" She felt something leave her body, like a current flowing through her veins, bringing with it a strong urge to kill. What was wrong with her?

"As you wish." He didn't seem to have noticed anything, much to her relief. It would not be fun for anyone to know that the person whose life they had saved so badly wanted to kill them.

She paced in her room, trying to calm herself down. Why did she feel this way? Her chest felt hot and for some reason, she was convinced that the only way to feel better was to kill someone. Kill someone? Why would she have such a strange thought?

She decided to go to the dressmaker's chamber. At least she would have something to keep her busy there.

As usual, Maximus was elated to her. "You are here… Milady?" He looked as though he had seen a ghost.

"Good Morning, Maximus. Why do you look so shocked?" She was amused.

"It's nothing." He coughed. "You just look… different. More beautiful to be precise."

The compliment caught her off guard. "Don't you have a sweet mouth?" She laughed. But she didn't think that was the expression one would have after seeing something beautiful. He looked like he had no choice but to be in her presence, like he would have long taken off if it were up to him. She became suspicious. "Do you have a mirror?"

He was hesitant, but he knew that she would keep asking so he nodded. "There's one in the dressing cubicle." He showed her to the entrance of the dressing cubicle.

She went in and the first thing she looked at was her hair, expecting to see more of it turned blonde.. She was not at all prepared for what was awaiting her on the other side of the mirror.
