"What do you mean?" Sinos felt his blood go cold in shock from what he had just heard.
Bardumond forced a healing herb into Dairon's mouth and hoped it would work. He tiredly slumped onto a chair. "His soul is incomplete. He lost half of it."
Sinos frowned. Did that mean what he thought it meant?
Bardumond's next words confirmed his fear. "I'm betting that the lost half is with Jasmine. She was dead when he saved her—he brought her back to life by giving her half of his soul."
"What an idiot." Sinos couldn't help cursing. It didn't make sense before but now it did. How could such a trivial thing as the rebound of a human summoning a demon affect a strong demigod?
It turned out that it was because the human had his soul. She could kill him by merely stabbing him—and the more she hated him, the easier it was for her to kill him.
"Does he not know the rules?" Sinos was flabbergasted.
"He does." Bardumond slapped his forehead. "That is what I'm worried about. Despite knowing that he would be punished for using his power for any selfish gain, he went ahead and did it. I'm worried for him, Sinos."
"I suggest we put that human female to rest. If worse comes to worst, half of Dairon's soul will be lost forever—but at least there will no longer be any creature with the ability to harm him." Sinos seriously suggested.
Bardumond thought his suggestion made sense. It was the best idea. However, by "putting the woman to rest", Sinos meant that they should kill Jasmine. He had nothing against Jasmine. He had to admit that she was dangerous after seeing what happened to Dairon. Even so, she did nothing on purpose and it was the aftermath of her power that harmed him. Besides, they were yet to know the source of her power and he had a feeling that they would regret shutting it down before it was revealed.
"Don't tell me you want us to spare her." Sinos snickered when he saw his friend's expression. "It was already bad enough that we helped him hide the presence of a human on the island. We cannot compromise anymore."
Bardumond shook his head. "Let's erase her memory instead. We can simply delete everything that happened since they met each other. They will both forget that the other exists. Dairon will not try to pursue her and she will not know that she hates him—which will save both of them."
"She could recover her memory later." Sinos frowned at the idea.
Bardumond knew this, but he insisted. "She will never even notice that anything is missing as long as I'm careful."
"I still think we should kill her." Sinos lowered his voice when Dairon stirred, but he was firm.
Bardumond clenched his fists. "It is not up to us to decide the death of humans. Not to mention, we are certain that she is not completely human. What if she is a demon or worse, a demigoddess? What if we accidentally unlock her hidden self and it wrecks havoc? Don't forget what happened eight centuries ago."
Sinos' eyes widened for a second before they dimmed. He could only concede defeat when he thought about the memories that no one talked about anymore. "Fine. But if she becomes a threat to Dairon, I will stab her."
Bardumond walked towards Dairon and checked on him. He placed his hand on his forehead. "We can only erase his memory of her when he is awake. It will be dangerous to do it now."
"Just do your thing." Sinos couldn't wait for Dairon to wake up. However, he was bound to be in a coma for much longer than they thought.
_____
When Jasmine woke up, the first thing she did was shuffle out of her bed. The door opened before she could leave and Sophie walked in.
"M-mother?" She was afraid of facing her. Would her mother be terrified of her? Would she still want her?
She had hoped that the fire and whatever mystery it held would remain at the island since that was where it all started. All she wanted was to live in peace with her family but such a thing had to happen.
Contrary to her expectation, Sophie caressed her cheek. "I figured you would wake up soon. Come on, wash up and come down for dinner."
Jasmine frowned in confusion. "Dinner? I feel as though I've been asleep for ages. It's only been a few minutes?" If she remembered correctly, her fight with Dahlia happened when Sophie was preparing dinner.
Sophie smiled awkwardly. "More like a few days. You have been asleep for four days, honey."
"Four days?!" She almost slipped into another coma out of shock.

Sophie hugged her. "It's alright. Just freshen up, okay?"
Jasmine nodded and freshened up, then made her way to the dining room. No wonder she felt as though her stomach was an empty hollow. It really was an empty hollow!
She was yet to open her mouth when she saw Dahlia giggling at something Harry said. When the girl saw her, she rushed over and wrapped her arms around her.
"You woke up! If you don't wake up soon, I will finish all the delicacies." Dahlia puffed her cheeks
"Is that all you ever think about?" Sophie laughed.
Jasmine smiled and bent to Dahlia's level, hugging her. "Dahlia, I'm sorry."
"Why?" Dahlia was confused.
"I scared you." Jasmine sighed. "Dahlia, I don't fully understand what's going on either but… I want you to know that you're the most important person in my life. I don't want you to think that I got all fired up because my value for material things is greater than my love for you."
"Huh?" Dahlia was even more confused.
"How touching, but that doesn't matter. You were only mad at her in her dream—you don't need to apologize for it." Harry cleared his throat.
"Huh?" It was Jasmine's turn to be confused.
Sophie shot a glance at her husband. They couldn't say it in front of Dahlia.
___
Four days ago.
Harry was dazed by what had just happened in Jasmine's room. He held the unconscious Dahlia in his arms while rocking her. She had fainted from shock.
"It's getting out of hand. Will Dahlia be alright?" He asked with a tremor in his voice.
Sophie shut the doors and windows before taking Dahlia. "We have no choice left, Harry."
He took a deep breath and walked over to them, taking Dahlia's small hand in his.
Sophie spoke a string of words in a language he couldn't make head or tail of under his puzzled gaze, before kissing Dahlia's forehead. "It was just a dream, my darling. Don't fret about it."
When Dahlia woke up, she puffed her cheeks as she went to find her parents. "Mama, where is Jasmine? She is so evil."
"What did she do?" Sophie asked gently.
Dahlia looked upset. "How could she be mad at me for so long? I don't even know why she was so angry! Good sisters shouldn't stay mad at each other—not even in their dreams."
