Sophie looked at her daughter tearfully. "I don't want to give you away. You are my daughter." She closed her eyes, her voice devoid of confidence. "My only wish is to be your mother. If the deities don't take you away from me, I promise to be the best mother."

When she opened her eyes, she was disappointed when nothing seemed to happen.

Jasmine clenched her fists when she read Sophie's thoughts. She was wondering whether her wish was too greedy, which made the demigoddess upset.

Just as she leaned over the crib to touch her face, the baby rolled onto her side. Sophie was surprised. The wings were gone! A small golden feather landed in her palm to confirm her suspicion.

"Does this mean you are no longer a demigoddess? Are you my daughter now?" Her tears ran freely as she asked. She had not dared to wish for Jasmine to lose her wings. All she wanted was the right to be her mother whether or not she was human. Who would have thought that the demigoddess would turn human?

Celeste walked in with a small bottle. "Jasmine must be hungry. You can rest and I will feed her."

Sophie blinked in surprise. Time had reversed! Her mother had forgotten about Jasmine's wings and the priest's visit! She could finally confirm that Jasmine had become an ordinary human baby.

"What's that?" Celeste asked about the feather.

"Nothing." Sophie brushed it off but kept the feather away safely.

Jasmine tried to remember this part of her past and scolded herself after thinking about it. She was just a baby at the time. How could she remember?

Following the ticking of the giant clock, she walked onto the next corridor where Harry embraced Sophie worriedly. In front of them. The baby was surrounded by doctors who tried to figure out why she was crying so painfully.

"We have checked her whole body and she is in good health." One of the doctors reported helplessly.

"If she is in good health then why is she in so much pain?" Harry questioned sternly. "None of the medication you prescribed worked on her. Is this a sign of good health?"

"This…" The doctor was at a loss too. "The most odd symptom is that she is constantly trying to scratch her back."

Sophie walked over to pick the crying Jasmine up and tried to pacify her. She seemed to have figured out that the pain was caused by the loss of her wings.

"If my baby's pain is the price I have to pay to be her mother, then I give up." She sniffed. She couldn't bear to watch her baby writhe in agony so constantly.

When the doctors left, Harry sat beside her. "Let's go to a bigger town. There has to be a doctor who will cure her."

"There's no need." Sophie stopped her husband from booking train tickets. "I made a selfish decision. As long as I correct it, our baby will be alright."

"What are you talking about?" Harry was confused.

"I will explain it later. Do you trust me?" She looked up at him. After receiving a nod of approval, she let him leave and touched her daughter's face. "I will give you back to the deities. Please show me how to send you back."

Sophie carried her daughter and headed for the highest mountain, and Jasmine followed them closely. When they reached the peak, Sophie held up the glowing golden feather. Soon after, a group of deities landed on the mountain and approached her, led by the god with golden, fiery eyes.

He took the baby in Sophie's arms and cradled her. "What's your wish?"

"Lord Blaze, you should not reward her. She tried to steal the demigoddess, she must be punished!" A goddess retorted.

"Quiet." The god called Blaze shut her and gave Sophie a probing look.

"I have no wishes." She gave the feather to Blaze and watched as they flew away, disappearing into a portal.

Jasmine closed in on Sophie to comfort her but when she touched her shoulder, her hand went through Sophie's body, reminding her that she was merely watching the past. She could not be part of it.

She wanted to turn and walk away but couldn't. She remained on the mountain and watched as Sophie made countless trips to the peak, looking up in the direction where the gods disappeared into a portal along with her baby.

On one of her trips that seemed to be years later, she was baffled when she saw a little girl facing away from her with golden and red wings.

"Demigoddess?" She called suspiciously.

The girl turned. It was indeed Jasmine. She retracted her wings when she closed in on Sophie.

"Let's go home." She demanded in a tone that sounded too authoritative for her age.

"What?" Sophie was confused.

"Let's go home, mother." She repeated.

"Jasmine!" Sophie couldn't hold back anymore. She pulled the girl into a tight hug. Her daughter was back!

"Are you really back?" She couldn't help asking doubtfully.

Jasmine led the way down the mountain. "Whatever was left undone has to be done now."

"Why… why did you come back?" Sophie asked after a while, finding it odd.

To her question, Jasmine gave her a confused look. "You have missed me for seven years but as soon as you see me, you ask why I'm here? Humans are incomprehensible."

Sophie chuckled awkwardly. "So you knew that I missed you? The deities said you would forget me and that I will forget you too. I'm glad that I didn't forget you, and that you didn't forget me either."

"It's too soon to celebrate." The girl said unflinchingly.

It was evident that there was a huge gap between them. However, that didn't stop Sophie from rejoicing in the return of her daughter.

"Come back." Jasmine heard the male voice that woke her.

At the same time, she heard the voice of the priest through the corridor.

"Her existence is sinful. She has to die."

Shocked, she walked towards the direction of the Priest's voice.

"I said come back!" Commanded the god.

She stood on the spot, uncertain where to go. Just as she thought of defying the god and going to the priest, the god appeared before her.

She was confused by his actions. "You led me to walk into time because you wanted me to find out the truth about my past. That is part of it, so why are you stopping me?"

"Everything has a limit. It would be best if you got out of here." Blaze warned and pointed at a direction that she should use to leave the clock.

"Just this part." She pleaded. "I only want to know why the priest said that I deserved to die. Please."

Blaze facepalmed. "No. Leave now. If you are a second late, you will be stuck in the past. Hurry, you have one minute before the clock stops."

"Still so stubborn." She heard him mutter when she turned to leave.

When she reached the entrance of the clock, she turned to look for him. What about him? If the clock were to stop before he left, would he be stuck in history? She felt a strong pull that made her senses numb. The clock was stopping!

_

"No… no…." Jasmine whimpered as she shook her head.

Dairon's eyes shot open, only to find her forehead drenched in sweat as the furniture in the room started to catch fire. He shook her shoulder. "Jasmine, wake up!"

She jolted awake with a start. "What the hell?!" Why was the room on fire?

Before he could say a word, the fire went off.

"Finally, I managed to reverse it." She praised herself for the progress, before she realized that she was in her room and that the sun had risen. Wasn't it night, and wasn't she supposed to be in the clock? Could it be that she was dreaming? But it all felt so realistic.

"Were you here all night?" She asked, recalling that she was with him the previous night and he was the one who woke her up.

"Yes, why?" He hoped she would not be angry.

She thought back to when she saw Blaze. He had definitely entered her room. Dairon must have seen him since he was here all along, right?

"Did anyone come here? A deity with eyes like mine?" She asked.

"No one came. I was here the whole time and didn't move away for a second." He confirmed her thoughts.

Adding the fact that she didn't see him when she followed Blaze, she frowned. "So it was a dream."

"Was it a nightmare?" He asked with concern.

Sighing, she slid off the bed and looked around for signs of a stranger, still not believing that a dream could feel so real. "A god woke me up. He made me walk into time.. If it's a dream, then I don't know whether or not what I saw is real."
