"What kind of dream did you have?" He asked.

"A god woke me. His name is Blaze." She explained, and he finally understood why she had asked whether anyone entered the room the previous night.

Even so, he was doubtful. "Blaze came here?"

"I think so?" She wasn't sure either. "It just felt so real… and I'm pretty sure I opened my eyes. Is it possible to "wake up" in your dream?"

Dairon thought about it with A frown. "He cannot come here. Even if he were to come, he would have to inform me beforehand and obtain my permission."

"Why?"

"Deities of fire are at loggerheads with those of water. Sneaking onto my island could instigate unnecessary war." He explained.

Water and fire deities weren't on good terms? She didn't know why that gave her a bad feeling.

"Are you worried that we might be forced to turn against each other someday?" He closed in on her teasingly. "Don't worry. In this life, I will always be on your side."

That wasn't what she was thinking about but a smile of relief formed on her face.

"Blaze didn't come here. Then how come…" She was still unable to accept that they didn't really meet each other.

"He summoned your soul in your dream. It feels much closer to reality than an actual dream." He stated, and then furrowed his brows. A god summoning a demigoddess in the middle of the night… "What did he make you do?"

She shot him a glare. What kind of crap was he thinking? To stop him from letting his imagination run wild, she sat back on the bed and explained everything she saw. By the time she finished recounting the details, it was not just him who was confused. She was at a loss too.

"Here's the thing. I know it sounds crazy but my intuition tells me that the baby I saw, the demigoddess called Jasmine, is me." She said and prepared to be called crazy by him.

"It sounds strange but not impossible. Do you remember any of it as part of your life?" He asked.

She shook her head, also wondering why she didn't remember it if it was part of her past. "The more confusing thing is that, according to the wall of memories, I knew Vivian as a child. I'm certain we have known each other for many years too. But it's not possible for the demigoddess Jasmine to have met Vivian because she was taken away by the gods. Besides, she is dead and I'm alive." She sighed. "It's obviously two different people but I feel like they are both me. I don't know what I'm saying either."

"How did I manage to be two different people? Split souls?"

He took her hand and rubbed it. "Don't let it tire your brains out. Since you are a demigoddess, the deities will acknowledge you. They can help us find answers."

She didn't quite like the thought of it. For some reason, she didn't want the deities to acknowledge her. At least not yet.

"Can't we go to the clock? Wait. Does it actually exist?"

"It does, but not just anyone can go in. The rule is quite strict to stop anyone from changing the past." He answered, much to her disappointment.

"We might have to wait for the gods' acknowledgement. But why would anyone want to change the past anyway?" She found it absurd.

"To escape punishment." He explained. "Normally, you can only watch the past but if you have enough power, you can alter major events. It's more tragic than it sounds. Altering the slightest detail will cause a great string of change and might hurt other deities."

"Makes sense." She tilted her head and looked at him skeptically. "What if we sought permission?"

"That's impossible." He sounded stern, as though he didn't want to talk about it anymore.

Before she could ask him, she understood it on her own. He didn't want to talk about it because he had been banned from going near the clock of the past. As for why he had been banned, he had once tried to change the past to alleviate his guilt.

But why was he so guilty that he wanted to do such a thing? And how come she could read his feelings? She gasped in shock, making him look at her in surprise.

"Maybe that's why Blaze didn't want me to watch everything." She gave an excuse and brushed off the topic. "Are we training today?"

"Not if you are too tired."

"I'm alright." She reassured and stood to find clothes to change.

"Then we will after breakfast." He looked forward to it.

"I'll freshen up." She announced after placing a white dress on the bed.

"Okay." He continued sitting on her bed.

"I mean… I mind the audience." She awkwardly tried to shoo him off.

"I can't see you when you are in the bathing chamber." He lied through his teeth.

She was close to rolling her eyes as she looked at the transparent bathroom walls that let her see everything from her position. "Of course you can."

"The walls block out everything as soon as you get in. Why don't you give it a try?" He winked, making her smash him with a pillow.

He grabbed the pillow with a laugh, placing it back in its place.

"What would you like to have for breakfast? I will go and make it."

"Anything."

"How about fish?" He suggested in all seriousness.

"Uhm…okay." There was something about his tone that made it feel wrong. Before her brain could process it, he leaned over and kissed her lips.

"Hey!" She pushed him away with a start.

"Didn't you say you would have fish for breakfast?" He smiled and raised her chin with his forefinger, using his thumb to caress her lips. "I remember a certain someone called me a fish before."

She bit down on his thumb angrily. "You are so shameless it's incurable." She kicked him out and shut the door.

Kissing the thumb she had just bitten, he smiled. "You are so cute it's addictive, flower."

As they had breakfast, Sinos arrived happily.

"Jasmine!" He rushed to her side, only to be grabbed and shoved away by Dairon.

"Stay away from her." He warned coldly.

Sinos was infuriated by the "extra cordial" welcome. He pushed Dairon's hand off him. "Get lost. I'm not trying to steal her from you. I said I wasn't interested in humans."

"She's not a human." Dairon did not lower his guard. He was still trying to win Jasmine's heart and the last thing he wanted was for someone else to gain her favor.

"She lived as one anyways." Sinos protested. "I don't like demigoddesses either. Only top ranking goddesses with multiple elements and talents, and mighty wings can get my attention." He harrumphed with his nose in the air.

"Are you asking for a beating?" Dairon threatened.

"The point is that I only see Jasmine as my friend." He explained earnestly, wondering when Dairon became so possessive. "I'm only interested in the clothes she makes."

If he wasn't here for the clothes, he would have long bolted away from Dairon's glare. He could only suck it in and look at Jasmine pleadingly. "Beautiful Jasmine, can you please make me one of those clothes that human males wear?"

"They are called men." She chuckled at his term. "When I'm done with training, I can make you a few outfits. However, I can't keep using Maximus' materials and I have none of my own. You will have to look for some."

"Really? You are very kind." He rejoiced, and felt icicles on his back. Why was Dairon staring at him as though he wanted to kill him? Was it so hard to get clothes nowadays?

"Have you had breakfast? You can join us if you haven't." Jasmine politely invited him, unaware of the virtual battle in the room.

"I'm not hungry." Sinos quickly shook his head. "Right. I asked Bardumond to come over. It would be best if he checked on you, just in case."

"Thank you."

"Here." He placed a pendant beside her hand on the table.

"What's this for?" She examined the emerald star curiously.

"If you ever need my help, no matter what time of day or night it is, you only need to say my name and I will be there." He explained.

"Uhm…" She was speechless. Although Dairon said that Sinos would stop disliking her once he realized that she was harmless, she didn't expect such a rapid development. But could she really accept such a gift from a god?

"She doesn't need you. She already has me." Dairon looked at the emerald in Jasmine's hands. If he were a demigod of fire, it would have long turned into ashes.

"Sheesh. I'm not asking for her attention in return. It's just a token of appreciation for the clothes she will make me." Sinos shrugged in defeat. "How about this, just use it as jewelry if you like it.. It would go well with the dress you are wearing."
