When Jasmine joined them at the patio with her parents tailing behind her, Dairon checked the time and realized that she had used up ten minutes. Not a second more.

"You sure keep time." He was amused. Did she have a clock in her system that warned her when time was up? She didn't have a clock on her.

She shrugged and planted herself beside her sister. "I wasn't going to give you the satisfaction of forcefully interrupting our conversation in the name of having to leave." She smiled, her eyes practically yelling that she had won this round. As though it was a contest of sorts.

"Don't make it sound like I'm so evil, flower." He laughed when he felt Harry's gaze on him. Great. Now her father definitely thought that he was bullying his daughter.

"I can give you a few more minutes if you want. It won't hurt to be slightly later than planned." He offered.

"Forget it. Let's go." Even though she would have loved to stay for hours if it was possible, she also knew exactly why Dairon was rushing them to leave. Things didn't go well the last time she was in the human realm and the gods might be wary of her trying to return—especially Blaze. She might be banned from coming back if they knew that she had snuck back for a visit.

Harry started asking Dairon a few questions that made him shift in his seat. She was certain that if a deity with slightly less patience than Dairon were interrogated in the same way, Harry would no longer be breathing.

Pretending not to be part of it, she turned to Dahlia and helped her straighten her ponytail that was slightly crooked. "Did Dairon try to bully you?" She asked in a whisper.

"No! He was friendly." The girl seemed to be fond of the demigod. "We talked a lot. I even told him about how we kept Goldie."

Jasmine's eyes widened. She told him about their pet? "Then you really did get along."

Dairon answered all of Harry's questions and soon, it was time to leave.

"Will you come to visit soon?" Dahlia looked like she would cry if her sister said no.

"I'll try my best." She promised and kissed her parents on their cheeks.

"Bye sis." Dahlia hugged her again, reluctant to let her leave. "Shall I see you off?"

"No, you should do your homework. Don't procrastinate it until the last minute." She chuckled at Dahlia's shocked expression at the mention of that.

"How did you know that I was procrastinating on my homework?" She was embarrassed after being exposed.

"Don't I know my sister better than anyone?"

When they were far from Harry's house, she finally asked, "How will we leave?" It was the weekend so the city was not very busy. It would be very noticeable if two of the few people walking around disappeared, especially since they both had striking hair that was different from everyone else's.

"On the train." He suggested.

"I don't want anyone to freak out and think they were on the same train ride as a pair of ghosts." She frowned at his idea.

He found it amusing. "You believe in ghosts?"

She didn't need to think about it. "Everyone hears scary stories about them in their childhood. We all tend to believe that they don't exist—but that's only because no one has seen them with their own eyes. So I don't know."

"What do you like to believe more?" He pressed.

"I didn't believe in gods but they exist so, it doesn't really matter what I believe." She tried to dismiss him again, but he looked at her with a probing gaze. She could only relent. "Fine. I believe that the dead are just that—dead."

He chuckled.

"What about you? Have you seen one?" She asked directly, knowing that he would definitely have seen them if they existed, considering how long he had lived.

"Yes. There's one beside me."

"Excuse me?" She almost shrieked but then realized that he was talking about her.

He gazed down at her unflinchingly. "If your concept of ghosts is dead people, then you are one—pun intended."

"That's not funny." She glared at him.

He chuckled. "But, for real. If your concept of ghosts is a soul that doesn't belong to anyone in the living world, then you might have been one a few times."

She stiffened when she thought about her visit to the clock. She didn't go by herself, but after being summoned in her dream. If she were to think of it from a different point of view, then it could mean that her past self was being stalked by her ghost from the future. She frowned. "Stop messing with me. I'm not speaking to you anymore."

He laughed after making her overthink. When they arrived at the train station, he booked their tickets and erased the memory of them from the staff as well as the record of their booking, then went to the car. "It's your turn to teleport us."

"What do I need to do?" She asked.

"Just make sure we don't get stuck in the portal." He teased.

"That's a thing?" She once again freaked out.

"I'm just messing with you." He laughed again. "Draw a small invisible circle and imagine our destination inside it."

When she tried, the circle was anything but invisible and Dairon's island was inside it, as though it was a video. He could even see Rosetta humming while cleaning a vase.

The vase in Rosetta's hand shattered as she shrieked when they suddenly appeared behind her.

He burst into laughter when his maid scurried away. "When you imagine your destination, don't think about the inhabitants. You might make them shit their pants."

"Oh." So much for trying to make Rosetta less scared of her.

"It's not bad for the first time. I spent hours trying to teleport to my room when I was learning to do it." He uncovered his own embarrassing past to console her.

She laughed at his expense and looked down at his feet with a slight frown. "This is weird."

"What is?" He asked, following her gaze.

She shook her head at his bare left foot. "I have only heard of a princess leaving her shoe in a banquet hall. Then there's you—a demigod who leaves his shoe on the train."

"Are you worried that I'll step on something harmful?" He chuckled. Even he didn't know when he left his shoe behind.

"How I wish you would step on something harmful." She rolled her eyes. "I'll take a shower and go to the sea."

That reminded him. He hurried to the sea and aimed to be quick before she returned. It was not difficult to accomplish his mission since there were several water animals admiring the bright colors of the fireballs she had created earlier. Among them were water snakes. They all swam away when he approached but he managed to stop a little red snake.

"Hey, come here." He called it over and studied it.

"You're actually cute. I now see why she would like you. Would you like to be a pet?" When he learned that it was interested, he patted it and happily took it back home. He took the chance when she was chatting with Maximus to prepare the surprise.

"You are acting strange." She observed when she saw him.

"Uhm… I have a gift for you. It's to thank you for the robe." His heart raced.

"That was a thank you gift. You don't need to thank me for it." She found him amusing.

"But I still want to. Please accept it." He insisted. This was his way of getting on her good side. How could he give up?

"If it makes you stop bugging me." She agreed, knowing that he would only give more reasons if she rejected it.

"Great! It's on your bed."

"Okay." She decided to check it out later. Right now, she needed to take a look at her fireballs. He followed her as though he had a reason to be there.

The water animals had been there a moment ago so the water wasn't as calm as it had been earlier. He glanced at the fireballs suspiciously.

"What are you doing?" She raised an eyebrow.

Without answering her, he tapped the water in the slightest to create a ripple under the nearest fireball. The latter didn't move.

"How sneaky. I now know what you did." He chuckled.

"What did I do?" She feigned innocence.

"The fireballs are not touching the water surface. They are levitating half a centimeter above it." He exposed her trick.

She blushed in embarrassment but didn't deny it. "Well, it took you a while to figure it out. But I passed the test. Though, I did nothing wrong. You only said that it should be on the sea and they should not fuse. You didn't say anything about the fireballs actually touching the water."

She twisted his instructions in her favor even when she was so flustered. How sneaky.

"I'll go check out the gift you sent me.. " She scurried away before he could make her redo the task with stricter conditions.
